25/01/2026: I ordered parmigiana, meatballs with sauce and meatloaf. I have to say it wasn't bad, it would have been better with less salt.

01/01/2026: We've ordered often and have always had a good experience. Just last December 31, we ordered rice, potatoes, and mussels and were very disappointed because, besides not being well-made, it didn't even smell good—perhaps some of the mussels had fallen off. Go for safe options.

03/06/2026: The food is amazing, the sea view is great, and the prices are very reasonable.

31/05/2026: ZERO PROFESSIONALISM! We made a reservation on Saturday for Sunday lunch at 1:00 PM, leaving our number and name. We showed up at the scheduled time after a two-hour drive and were met by a waiter who informed us that they had opted for a private event (or that they had forgotten about it) and that therefore lunch would be impossible that day. When we asked for an explanation as to why we hadn't been notified, the response was "You're not the only ones." They didn't even try to find a solution, they just suggested we look for another place to eat (a Sunday of First Communions, at 1:30 PM, in a seaside place with five restaurants).

04/06/2026: Overall, the seating was very nice and the Aperol was also very tasty and there were even olives with it, but when paying the bill the lady added a €3 tip without asking, which annoyed me a lot.

31/03/2026: When there's a family occasion to celebrate... we have no hesitation... we choose "Il grande buco quadrato" for both lunch and dinner, where we feel at home thanks to the kind hospitality of Franco, the owner, always ready to meet the customer's needs, respecting them... and the delicacies of chef Giuseppe! I recommend trying the seafood risotto... it's superb!! Quality food... the setting is very characteristic and welcoming in stone, the service is fast, the waitresses are friendly and professional... in short, for all of this we feel happy and satisfied. I highly recommend trying it to believe it!!

31/03/2026: Very nice location, clean, tidy and tastefully furnished located a few steps from the city center and with ample seating availability 😊 excellent appetizers, superlative pizzas, abundant dishes and everything strictly fresh and of the highest quality 😊 the staff very friendly, helpful, professional and with a strong sympathy especially from the owner who very willingly improvises magic tricks and collective entertainment with extreme ease and skill in the execution 😄 excellent value for money and therefore I highly recommend it 😉 see you soon 💪😊😉👍

24/03/2026: What can I say...the food is of questionable quality. The service...needs some revision. The atmosphere is "heated" by a gas stove. I would add that there was zero cleanliness. The salt and pepper shakers, at least 15 years old, were quite sticky and dirty. A renovation of the location, first and foremost, should be seriously considered.

07/02/2026: My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner this evening. The reservation service was very quick and efficient. The location is one of the most beautiful we've ever experienced: there's a truly pleasant "Puglian" atmosphere. Despite the lack of background music, we were able to chat comfortably without feeling excessively silent. We were served by a very sweet, kind, efficient, and never intrusive young woman. The small welcome appetizer of taralli was much appreciated. The timing between courses was well-timed. Finally, a place that serves sauces in special bowls and not in the inconvenient sachets, which are often annoying to open (not to mention polluting). The pizza, in our opinion, is a cross between a Bari-style pizza and a Neapolitan pizza. It's very tasty and light, more crunchy than soft. You can immediately tell the ingredients are high-quality. Their attention to celiac disease is commendable. The bill is slightly higher than average, but overall it's worth the experience. It's definitely highly recommended in Monopoli!

12/03/2026: Se siete su Castellana Grotte e siete alla ricerca di un buon panzerotto fritto non potete non passare da le bontà del poveresito. Possibilità di coperto sia all'interno che all'esterno. Degusterete dei panzerotti grandi e ben farciti con tante opzioni di scelta.

18/03/2026: Located outside the center of Conversano, the restaurant consists of a small, well-lit, warmer, and more welcoming interior room, and a second, decidedly more sparse and impersonal room created from a small atrium covered by a canopy and heated by large outdoor heaters. I'll skip over the nearly two-hour wait, justified (as always) by the fact that it was Saturday night (in reality, the real reason is that they increasingly prefer to focus on takeout, so seated customers can wait...). To pass the time, we ordered some tempura vegetables, which turned out to be too oily, too colorful, and obviously reheated. We reached the pinnacle with the pizza. Some ingredients, meanwhile, had run out, and we had to change our order. My pizza, a simple "bufalina," had only a lot of tomato and a thin layer of finely shredded mozzarella, as if it had been blended. Practically tasteless. There wasn't even a hint of buffalo mozzarella (the flavor of which I can recognize very well, when it's there...). We didn't complain because we were guests, but we really could have left everything on our plates. I'm giving three stars only to encourage the pizza chefs, all very young. But the restaurant, the real, simple, and authentic kind (which doesn't take much to offer), is something else entirely.

25/12/2025: We had some appetizers and pizza, delicious and thin, just the way I like it. We also had dessert; I found the "dirty mussi" to have a salty aftertaste that wasn't normal. The price was really competitive given the central location. I would definitely go back, but I'd choose a better dessert!
