14/10/2025: Avoid this restaurant at all costs! Totally unprofessional! We found ourselves standing in front of closed doors this afternoon, even though Google said the restaurant was open. There's no indication on the website that the restaurant is closed today. Can't be reached by phone either!

14/10/2025: I've been to the Grotto St. Anna a few times over the past few years, but each time I felt less hospitable and less welcomed as a guest. The sign on the gate in German stating that only drinks are served with food isn't exactly a welcome – it could certainly be addressed differently. And today, the absolute low point. As always, we walked to the grotto and unfortunately found ourselves in front of a locked gate. Even though Google and the website said it should be open from 12 p.m., we waited in vain for 40 minutes in front of the locked door before heading back. No "closed" sign, no voicemail, no information... and we weren't the only ones; they probably didn't need it.

08/03/2026: The fish is really good and very fresh. This is our third time here, and the raw appetizers deserve a special mention! Superb! The cooked fish main course and the fried fish are also delicious!

28/12/2025: Welcoming place and super friendly staff. We chose the raw fish menu, which was very good and the portions were generous!! Excellent value for money!!! We'll be back on the 31st 😊👍

29/10/2025: Ample parking, clean and well-decorated space, very friendly staff who make you feel at home right away, excellent food, and excellent value. I wasn't familiar with this place, but I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. Recommended.

14/12/2025: Historic mountain setting, once serving the now-defunct ski slopes. Now a vassal of the Auxologico hospital in Piancavallo Oggebbio (VBO). Located in the heart of the Val Grande, it could be the starting and ending point for excellent and relaxing walks. The traditional food is average. Prices are just above average.

22/06/2025: It's a really nice Italian restaurant in the middle of Stresa. We tried two different pizzas, and they were out of this world. Straight up, 10/10.

01/02/2026: We stopped here for lunch on our late return from Lake Antrona. The owners were very welcoming. The menu was very interesting, featuring several traditional local dishes, especially the pasta dishes, which were delicious. The desserts are homemade, specifically by the owner's wife: fantastic. We'll definitely be back next time we're here. Special thanks to the owner, who enlivened our lunch with stories from his life.

23/03/2026: We arrived at 8:00 PM with a reserved table. We started dinner at 9:30 PM without anyone bothering to apologize for the delay. They immediately brought only the octopus with potatoes, which was very hard and left over. The rest of the pizzas arrived over an hour later. There was also a child at the table, who fortunately waited patiently despite our having asked, at least for him. I politely asked if they could cut his pizza into slices with a pizza cutter, and they hastily replied that it was Saturday night and they didn't have time. If I wanted, they could bring the cutter to my table (exactly). Three different people were served. The tiramisu had too much egg and was yellow, a positive note for the good pizzas and the charming, welcoming atmosphere. The service was a shame!

11/10/2025: We found the focaccia rather dry. There were hardly any toppings, barely any cheese. There were signs saying "Original Italian Coffee" and it looked like a portafilter machine. They use capsules. It was all fake. We also found the lady at the counter rather unfriendly. She had a bored expression and was chewing gum in an annoyed manner.

11/10/2025: The coffee wasn't an original Italian sieve-type machine, but capsules. The focaccia was very lightly topped with salami and cheese. Prices are okay. The service was irritated and unfriendly.

19/11/2025: Ottimo bar, pulito e confortevole. Lo visito la parecchi anni e la qualità è sempre stata costante. Buona sia la caffetteria che i cocktail. L'unica cosa che mi fa storcere il naso è che non effettuano ordinazioni al tavolo ma devi entrare a fare l'ordinazione. I prezzi ultimamente sono aumentati rispetto agli anni scorsi.

10/11/2025: Overlooking Domodossola's main square, it offers outdoor seating where, in the morning sunshine even in this season, it's a pleasure to sit and enjoy breakfast. Attentive and friendly service. Average prices.

17/03/2026: He used to be very qualified... he did quality work... then with all the tables outside and doubling the rounds, we end up with sloppy dishes... we can also see it from the low score. I don't go out to eat below 4.4. Luckily for him, there are the Germans and Swiss...

02/11/2025: Absolutely loved the food. High Quality. However as a tourist we felt less welcome. Also the main course was served while we were still eating our first course. This is just not done. We would like the enjoy the evening and each course!

21/03/2026: My partner and I had lunch here during a trip to the Borromean Islands. We had a wonderful time! The restaurant is slightly further inland from the lakeside, but you can still see it from the terrace windows. We shared an appetizer (mixed fried lake fish), which was plentiful, light, and excellent! We then each ordered the daily fixed-price menu, also featuring fish, and were very satisfied. The waitress was also very kind and helpful. The price was reasonable, and cover charge included!

01/12/2025: We had a conscripts dinner and we had a really good time, the food was plentiful and at the end of the evening we even danced.

30/10/2025: Had dinner with a group of friends: perfect place. Excellent, home-cooked food, plentiful, and not greasy. The dining room and bathrooms were spotless. The atmosphere was warm, and the staff were very polite and attentive. The price was affordable. Jerry, the chef, was superb. Highly recommended!!!
