09/11/2025: I stayed there a few years ago, in the dead of winter. I loved the place: the valley is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and we ate well, with typical mountain fare. I returned more recently for a day trip, in the summer, for dessert. Well done.

27/10/2025: A truly wonderful experience. We booked half board and stayed in the Villa Triste annex. The room was very cozy with a private bathroom. The dinner was delicious and hearty. We had gnocchi all'Ossolana, followed by polenta and sausage, and a slice of homemade cake. The breakfast was simple but adequate. The innkeepers were helpful and friendly. An authentic, homely inn that I highly recommend!

04/11/2025: Centrally located hotel, very close to the lake and within walking distance of the station for those arriving by train. Unfortunately, the bed cover in the room we were assigned was falling off and the mattress cover was missing. The bathroom had no bidet, which was another major drawback. When we requested a replacement room, we were unfortunately told they were fully booked. I recommend including photos of rooms like the one we were assigned on Booking.com and also include the option of bathrooms without bidets. The included breakfast was pleasant and served at the table, not a buffet, but there was a decent selection.

29/10/2025: Luckily, we only booked the hotel for one night. The room was okay for an old building, but very noisy. A major disappointment was the breakfast, which was a sugar rush. It consisted of just cake, two rusks with Nutella and jam, juice, and coffee – that was it. I cannot recommend this hotel.

13/08/2025: The pizza is very good, both thin and normal, both do not sink your stomach and are rather light and tasty, friendly and nice staff, reasonable price. Well done!!

31/07/2025: Very good pizza, very kind and helpful staff; I recommend the extra large pizza if you're really hungry; the seafood appetizer is also good. The only downside is that the place is a bit dark, but that's just my personal opinion.

28/09/2025: The restaurant is located on the road that connects the train station to the village of Re in Val Vigezzo. We had a lovely lunch on a rainy day. The staff were friendly, and the polenta with mushrooms was excellent.

29/06/2025: We stopped by chance from today ... pizza after spending the day at the giants' marmitte. After so much sun we wanted a good ice cream, to tell the truth we were also intrigued by the pizza. 🍕 light dough and delicate ingredients, a great flavor! As for the ice cream I tried salted caramel and nutellone super good. I highly recommend you stop by!!!

05/10/2025: We had some delicious pizzas at the trattoria! The atmosphere in the courtyard was truly lovely, and the seating was very comfortable. The waitresses were friendly, but they didn't come back to us once after our meal. It wasn't crowded, and we were seated right away. But we would definitely come back for the food alone.

19/10/2025: Better to give it a wide berth Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately disappointing in several respects. A pork dish we ordered was served undercooked twice. Only on the third attempt was the meat fully cooked – however, the repeated reheating made it dry and unappealing. The children's schnitzels seemed to have been industrially prepared, as they were all identically shaped and very tough. The fish plate consisted of small pieces of fish with a lot of skin and hardly any meat, heavily fried and coated in a thick, floury coating – tasteless. Another dish wasn't even cooked but still appeared on the bill. The staff didn't respond to this with understanding or an apology, but rather with a discussion. The pork, which we complained about, was also charged in full. The portions were small overall. It was obvious that ready-made products were being used; fresh herbs or attractive presentation were nowhere to be found. The service was slow, unfriendly, and made little effort to make the experience pleasant. The owner was present, but he acted hectic and unfriendly, didn't greet us upon entering or leaving the restaurant, and generally didn't give a professional impression. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot recommend it. ... Better avoid Our visit to this restaurant was completely disappointing, despite various expectations. A fried meat dish was served twice, not completely cooked. Only the third time around, the meat was cooked perfectly, but due to the repeated heating, it was already dry and tasteless. The cotton fabric for children also has industrial products: it has the same shape and is made to last for a long time. The piatto di fish era composto da piccoli pezzi with molta pelle e poca polpa, fritti in modo eccessivo with a panatura spessa e farinosa - the gusto era tutt'altro che soddisfacente. The other piano is not ready for communication, but it also appears in the account. When you are notified by the notary, the personal person does not respond to the complaint, but he has initiated a discussion. Also the piano of the Maiale, regardless of the nostra lamentela, is added per intero. Le porzioni erano generalmente piccole. Sembravano uses these products quickly, without the aromatic freshness of the heritage and the presentation of the piatti. The service is always long, scortese and poco attento a rendere piacevole l'esperienza. The proprietario era presente, ma si è mostrato scontroso, agitato e non ci ha né accolti né salutati all’uscita. In general, there is no such thing as a professional impression. The whole thing is that the experience of the restaurant is very delicious and can be enjoyed in May. Purtroppo, not possiamo raccomandare this locale.

05/09/2025: A wonderful place in the heart of the picturesque monastery complex. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable. However, the unfriendliness of the staff, even when speaking Italian, is a real imposition.

Then they brought menus and pasticciotti to the five people next to us... Oh well!!!! Leaving aside the lack of politeness from the people sitting next to us... that's another story!
