15/05/2026: Pleasant setting, fast service, excellent food, friendly waiter. Highly recommended!

04/04/2026: We were very disappointed with our visit. Unfortunately, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food, which is simply far too long for a restaurant. When we arrived, the table was already dirty, and the cutlery was also dirty, which immediately made a very bad first impression. The food itself unfortunately didn't improve the situation: The pizza was burnt black, the pasta was cold, and on top of that, the food didn't arrive at the same time for everyone at the table. Some of us even had to wait another 30 minutes or so before our food finally arrived. Overall, the service and organization were very disappointing. We wouldn't wish such a visit on anyone.

08/03/2026: The fish is really good and very fresh. This is our third time here, and the raw appetizers deserve a special mention! Superb! The cooked fish main course and the fried fish are also delicious!

08/04/2026: I was in Baveno on vacation, and I went to this bar for breakfast. It's a lovely place just steps from the lake. The staff are very friendly, kind, and welcoming. They have fresh, delicious products, including brioches with a variety of fillings, and delicious coffee and cappuccino. I went back for lunch and had a sandwich with prosciutto, salad, tomato, and mozzarella, generously filled, and fresh bread. I had a great time, and I'll definitely return if I have the chance. I highly recommend it.

05/04/2026: I stumbled upon this café thanks to a weekend on Lake Maggiore. The staff is really kind and helpful (even offering helpful directions), the sandwiches are excellent, as are the brioches (I had a pistachio one that was super filling). The coffee is also very good. It will definitely be a go-to place next time I'm in the area! Thanks!

23/04/2026: Quite disappointed. Lunch was "canteen-style" with no love or flavor. The atmosphere was dated. The staff were non-Italian, and there was no Wi-Fi, even though the POS worked perfectly.

31/03/2026: We had lunch with the typical dish of polenta and game...🤦‍♀️ The polenta was awful... soaked in water!! The meat was tough. It seemed like it had been reheated several times...😬 The place was warm at the beginning, lunch was warm and comfortable. Then, about halfway through, the temperature dropped significantly!! Being in the mountains, it felt really cold. Everything was too expensive. We won't be back. They take advantage of it because it's the only place open near the Piancavallo Auxological Center. Sandwiches are better!!

14/02/2026: After a 30-minute walk through the snow, we reached the refuge. The hostess was very kind and patient, especially considering we were traveling with two children. The place is very well-kept, welcoming, and warm. The food was plentiful and excellent. We tried a first course, followed by polenta and venison, and dessert.

07/01/2026: Beautiful view and lovely walk through the woods from there. The kids rolled around in the snow outside, we had a great meal, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We returned twice in three days.

Good food and professional staff, certainly not a given, but you pay for the splendid view. I'm giving it one star to draw the owner's attention; I don't understand the acrimony surrounding the negative comments. Right or wrong, they're the result of personal experiences and, as such, should always be treated with respect and a critical eye. Hoping to do you a favor, I bid you farewell and hope to visit you soon. Following your reply: I made it clear that I like your place and frequent it. Don't be touchy and take criticism in stride. Many people look at customer reviews to understand their experience at your establishment. If you respond every time by accusing me of lying and lecturing them on restaurant etiquette and rules, you'll drive customers away.
