12/01/2026: A fantastic little boutique restaurant with traditional local dishes. The menu is small, but every dish is a true explosion of flavor. Amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, a bit off the beaten tourist track. Highly recommended. Thank you to the whole team/family, it was sensational! We'll definitely be back!

25/06/2025: Ho avuto il piacere di pranzare e cenare per due giorni presso il ristorante Il Rifugio, scelto e selezionato dalla mia azienda per un soggiorno di lavoro. Fin dal primo momento, il locale ha trasmesso una sensazione di cura e accoglienza: ordine e pulizia impeccabili, un ambiente davvero piacevole e ben tenuto. Ogni piatto servito è stato una piacevole scoperta: la presentazione curata nei minimi dettagli, capace di valorizzare al meglio le portate, e il gusto... semplicemente eccellente. Si percepisce chiaramente la scelta di materie prime di alta qualità e un’attenzione particolare nella preparazione. Il servizio è stato all’altezza delle aspettative: personale cordiale, attento e professionale, sempre disponibile e con il sorriso. Ottimq esperienza gastronomica che ha superato ogni aspettativa, rendendo il soggiorno ancora più piacevole. Consiglio vivamente Il Rifugio a chi cerca una cucina di qualità in un ambiente curato e accogliente.

22/12/2025: Total disappointment. We went here for a reunion with old friends. Aside from the cold and impersonal atmosphere, it felt like walking into a cafeteria. The staff wasn't welcoming at all; they served us without even a smile. We had a pre-arranged menu, some regular, some vegetarian...all unremarkable...neither infamy nor praise. But the saddest thing was that there were about 35 of us, and in the end, about ten of us ordered the amaro...and then they asked who had ordered it so they could charge us extra. Now, I want to say...we paid you (and not a little) for dinner for 35 people, and you didn't even have the courtesy to offer the amaro to ten of us! Honestly, from a place like this, I would have expected different treatment.

09/03/2026: We stayed for one night. That's fine. The hotel is located right in the middle of the small town, very close to the lake. That's perfect. The hotel is a bit dated, but the service is extremely friendly. Breakfast consists of cake. If you ask nicely, they'll also give you bread. The coffee is excellent. There's no elevator, so it's difficult for older people.

04/11/2025: Centrally located hotel, very close to the lake and within walking distance of the station for those arriving by train. Unfortunately, the bed cover in the room we were assigned was falling off and the mattress cover was missing. The bathroom had no bidet, which was another major drawback. When we requested a replacement room, we were unfortunately told they were fully booked. I recommend including photos of rooms like the one we were assigned on Booking.com and also include the option of bathrooms without bidets. The included breakfast was pleasant and served at the table, not a buffet, but there was a decent selection.

14/02/2026: A very authentic pizzeria, very friendly and fast service, delicious gluten-free pizza, and even various gluten-free desserts like tiramisu... A dream for people with celiac disease! Thank you so much! ❤️

30/11/2025: The restaurant urgently needs the help of an interior designer: the spaces are reminiscent of a typical suburban pizzeria (which it is, in fact) stuck in the 1990s and lack stylistic coherence. An effective ventilation system is even more necessary: ​​as soon as you step inside, a lingering and unpleasant cooking smell accompanies the entire meal. On the food front, despite ordering fried calamari, we received a mixed fried fish (not exactly ideal for those who can't stand bones, even the smallest ones). It must be said, however, that the dish was decent. The gnocchi al Bettelmat were delicious, but let down by the sloppy plating. The bill, however, is decidedly perplexing: two first courses, a second course, two desserts, three coffees, a liter of wine in a carafe (€10, the same as a good vintage Prosecco!), and a water, for a total of over €80. A price more in line with restaurants of much higher reputation, certainly not with a pizzeria that doesn't offer pizza on Sundays. The service was generally acceptable, although the waitress seemed impatient when our first course selection took just half a minute. In short, the bill was worthy of Valdobbiadene, but the experience was still like buying wine from a carafe. Without substantial improvements, I wouldn't recommend it at this time.

17/03/2026: Large indoor restaurant with a spacious outdoor seating area. Open on Mondays! Delicious and large pizzas between 12 pm and €15. However, there is a cover charge of €2 per person. This is unusual for us.

15/03/2026: Anyone complaining is really nitpicking. We hadn't made a reservation and still got a table. We found the atmosphere lovely, and the service was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious.

14/02/2026: After a 30-minute walk through the snow, we reached the refuge. The hostess was very kind and patient, especially considering we were traveling with two children. The place is very well-kept, welcoming, and warm. The food was plentiful and excellent. We tried a first course, followed by polenta and venison, and dessert.

02/02/2026: A truly wonderful surprise, a spontaneous, pleasant, open welcome that makes you feel welcome. We had a really good time and would love to come back!!!

08/11/2025: I ordered pasta to take away and when I opened the box, I realized it was a Carrefour ready-made meal (they didn't even bother to change the packaging: see photo). All this for the modest sum of €16 for two pasta dishes. It's absolutely outrageous!

02/11/2025: A perfect restaurant on the main street. Very family-friendly and absolutely top-notch in every aspect. Everything was more than perfect! The service was super friendly and incredibly competent. Unfortunately, you don't find anything like this in Switzerland. And the prices are such that you'll want to come back again and again. Even the chef and the pizzaiolo gave us a quick wave! It's an 11 out of 10!!! Grazie mille!!!

10/08/2025: For a couple of years now, it's been our go-to lunch spot whenever we pass through Domodossola. Always good food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a pleasure to chat with, and always happy to offer tips on shops or places to visit. A top rating!

14/11/2025: Excellent bar for breakfast. We had two delicious chocolate croissants; they have several different types. You can also stop for lunch. I also saw some nice wines. Next time we'll try the aperitivo. Very friendly staff. 👍

15/03/2025: A lovely evening with Wally Gators and Juda's Kiss. ​​Before the concert, a delicious pizza and draft beer. The venue has a beautiful stage, designed for live music. Excellent acoustics, and a skilled sound engineer. A casual spot for a lovely evening with friends and good, strictly live music. Very easy to get to, with plenty of parking.

14/02/2025: We went for dinner on a Friday night to see the band MalaMente. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly and professional. I had the ganassino with mashed potatoes, which was delicious. The pizza was also good and easy to digest. Great music and fun. Recommended.
