22/02/2026: First outing on a Saturday in late February, almost spring-like. About thirty kilometers from Florence, along quiet roads and relaxing countryside, this long-established trattoria maintains its standard of traditional Tuscan cuisine with a few rather pleasant "reinterpretations." The portions are generous, but mezze are also available, which were perfect for us. Today: Pici alla nana (duck ragù), Gnocchi with black cabbage pesto and bardic cio (delicious), Scamerita stew in red wine with onion and aromatic herbs, Chicken tagliata with honeyed chestnuts on a leek cream (rather pleasant), a few fries, and a slice of delicately flavored apple pie. Two glasses of Prosecco, mineral water, bread, and coffee. No-frills table, brisk service, sometimes noisy when crowded, regulars, families, a few foreigners, but not only attracted by word of mouth or good reviews. Fair prices (a Florentine steak, for example, is priced at €45/kg, compared to a low of €60 and a high of €140 in nearby Florence). A stable, go-to place, and for us, a place with easy digestion, which is no small feat. See you next time.

10/03/2026: We had a wonderful dining experience at Sabatini Firenze, and it was made even more special thanks to our server, Emanuel. Emanuel was exceptional throughout the entire evening. He was incredibly accommodating and very knowledgeable when recommending dishes. His English was excellent, which made communication very easy and comfortable for us. The food itself was fantastic. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was absolutely amazing, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The pasta we ordered was also delicious and beautifully made, showcasing the authentic flavors of Florentine cuisine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed and memorable meal in Florence. A special thank you again to Emanuel for his outstanding service and hospitality. If you visit Sabatini Firenze, we highly recommend asking for him!

02/01/2026: We spent New Year's Eve 2026 at Casato and had a wonderful time. Each dish was an artistic creation and an explosion of flavors, made with high-quality ingredients, especially considering the seafood (including raw oysters). The service was impeccable and the staff extremely friendly. Excellent value for money. The location is modern and meticulously maintained. Highly recommended.

21/10/2025: I had dinner 3 nights in a row, very very fair prices, excellent quality meat, very good first courses, the pizza is very very light with a dough that doesn't stick to your stomach 😁 kindness and courtesy always present in the place. 04/01/2026: We spent New Year's Eve at the old cellars of Chianni, taking advantage of a three-day package that also included a New Year's Eve dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the kind Alessio, who assigned us two very spacious and welcoming rooms on the first floor, with vaulted ceilings and comfortable beds. On the evening of the dinner, the dining room was beautifully decorated and the food was abundant, with well-prepared meat and fish, using excellent ingredients, and including high-quality local drinks. The evening was enlivened by Andrea's live music, with the option of requesting songs from a wide selection thanks to the QR code left on the tables, allowing everyone to listen to their favorite hits. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options. We were traveling with our Cocker Spaniel, who was made very welcome. Thanks to the courtesy of the staff, the authenticity of the property, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the quality of the restaurant, we had a truly pleasant stay that allowed us to explore the Valdera, with Chianni as our base. We will return in spring to enjoy new shades of color on these rolling hills.

15/03/2026: This restaurant's dinner is absolutely the best in Florence. Every dish is delicious and layered, it's amazing! I wish I hadn't wasted my time eating at so many Michelin-starred restaurants online these past few days.

15/03/2026: We had an absolutely wonderful evening at B-Roof. Everything was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere on the rooftop is truly magical, with a breathtaking view over Florence that makes the experience unforgettable. The food was outstanding — beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was delicious and carefully prepared. The wine selection was excellent and perfectly complemented our meal. What made the evening even more special was the service. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the entire dinner. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it turned out to be the perfect place for such a special occasion. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely come back the next time we visit Florence!

24/12/2025: I had lunch at La Cucina dello Scompiglio today, and overall, I'm giving it three stars based more on trust than on genuine satisfaction (otherwise, it would have been two). The main issue, from my perspective, is a significant discrepancy between the menu and what's actually served. The vocabulary used on the menu creates expectations that aren't reflected in either the plating or the overall experience. The presentation of the dishes was very basic, even sloppy. A concrete example is the charcuterie and cheese platter: served not on a real platter but on a serving platter, with cold cuts piled together, under-appreciated cheeses, and a jam placed in a rather questionable manner. Overall, a dish that feels "thrown in," out of line with the offerings and, especially, the price. Regarding the quality of the meat and the plating of the other dishes, I wasn't convinced by the quality of the food compared to the price. Another important aspect: the menu is almost entirely based on vegetables/vegetarian dishes. Nothing bad in itself, but this should be made much clearer. My friends and I had a hard time choosing because the menu didn't clearly communicate this. Another negative note about dessert: I ordered a revisited panna cotta, which I barely tasted and left almost entirely. I didn't like it at all, and was surprised that no one asked if I liked it. Considering a panna cotta is a rather simple dessert, it left me perplexed. I sincerely believe the place has potential, but in my opinion it needs a general overhaul: from the menu, to the presentation, to the consistency between the menu, dishes, and prices. I hope this review can be useful as a starting point for improvement. For now, personally, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.
