Great service and views but the food was a disappointment. You can see from the photos it was not what you would expect in Italy. I broke my own rules and ate at a place on the main tourist road - too tired after a long day being a tourist to find a different place.

We found this beautiful restaurant by accident, we wanted a pizza with a view.... and we found it. Stone baked pizza with a spectacular view.

I visited La Griglia in San Gimignano and was very pleased: the atmosphere was simple yet welcoming, as if I were dining with friends. The service was quick and courteous, unpretentious, and the food exceeded my expectations: fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and generous portions. I highly recommend their menu: if you're looking for a quiet evening and good food, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the Siena area.

We received a very warm welcome.
We don't speak Italian, but we managed to make ourselves understood in English when ordering.
Later, a French waiter arrived. He was very friendly and funny.
We had a very good meal.
We ordered the Florentine beef fillet for two with fries and mushroom sauce.
The fillet was exquisitely tender (the grill cooks it right in front of you), and the mushroom sauce was delicious.
It was made with real, fresh mushrooms (not canned like we had when we were in Florence).
For dessert, we had a homemade red berry panna cotta, which was absolutely delicious, and my husband had strawberries (a seasonal dessert) with ice cream.
In short, we had nothing to complain about.
Everything was perfect.

Great place, quick food despite the crowds, greetings to all the staff, especially Giovanni who made us have fun... greetings from the caravan of 12 people for Easter, we look forward to seeing you in Germany

I visited La Griglia in San Gimignano and was very satisfied. The cuisine is simple yet impeccable, with tasty roasts and authentic flavors that taste like they've been carefully crafted. The restaurant is welcoming yet unpretentious, perfect for a break between admiring medieval towers and strolling through the history-rich streets. The staff is helpful and attentive, always ready to recommend a dish of the day or a delicious local wine. I especially enjoyed the homemade pasta and the tender, well-seasoned meat. I will definitely return next time I'm in the Siena province.
