07/02/2026: Excellent place, top service! If you want to eat outside of main meal times, they always have a good alternative and make sure everyone is happy! The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Ample parking, large and well-ventilated smoking area. I recommend it!

The Braulio sorbet is highly recommended.
16/09/2025: A café on the road to Sondrio, in a mountainous area of Valtellina.
An excellent place to stop for a coffee or lunch.
Both the sandwich and the vegetables were delicious, the view was also lovely, and the service was attentive and friendly.

01/03/2026: Our dentist (from Chiavenna) recommended this place... Everything was delicious and traditional, from the appetizers to the pizzoccheri, from the braised beef with polenta to the desserts. Reasonable prices.
The atmosphere was very family-friendly and the service was quick. Thanks to Sara for her kindness and helpfulness.

13/01/2026: I returned a second time at the end of December with a group. The first time, in September, everything had gone well.
Everyone ordered what they wanted, but the dishes weren't served in portions. The food was all served together on trays. When we asked how many people it was for, the answer wasn't clear. This created confusion between those who wanted to share a dish and those who had ordered a full portion, as well as tension in splitting the bill between us (and also with respect to the total).
It's a shame about this very sloppy service, which ruined the experience of dishes that were otherwise appreciated for their quality.
11/01/2026: I liked the place, the bill was very fair! The explanation of the crotto was wonderful, I would appreciate it if the menu was expanded because there is little choice.

We booked and received a reservation for 8:30/8:45 PM, yet at 9:10 PM we were still standing, crammed inside the restaurant with 20 other people (with others waiting outside in -2.5°C temperatures), with no word from the owner about when we'd be seated. We received no apology. Nothing was offered during the wait. Total incompetence, highly discouraged.

28/02/2026: An elegant and refined restaurant/osteria in the center of Bormio, with a lovely terrace overlooking the main square. The appetizer is excellent, featuring chunks of cured meats that you slice yourself at the table. The tenderloin is flavorful and refined, arriving protected by a hood to preserve its cooking aroma until it's served.
A slight digression on the tiramisu, which contains a hint of coffee and is so thick that it's served with a knife and fork, a dessert that, by definition, is a "spoon" dessert. Overall, the restaurant was very satisfying, and I highly recommend it.
15/02/2026: A wonderful experience. The dishes were sublime and creative, with excellent service.
One of the best places to eat in Bormio.

La Cucina dell'Ostello

01/01/2026: We visited Ostello Alpino on several occasions, both in winter and during the summer months. We never stayed as guests in the hostel so my review is only based on the experience we had at the bar having coffee and drinks.
The place is very original, colorful and refreshing. The staff is very kind, professional and friendly. I especially liked the colorful posters hanging on their walls and I plan on buying one of them for my apartment.
The coffee and drinks were very good both enjoyed near the fireplace or in their spacious and relaxing summer garden.
It’s a place I always look forward to returning whenever I come to Bormio.
