Cardinello In Madesimo

Besides being a beautiful hotel it is a historical monument! The owner, Mr. Martino was super friendly and spent a lot of time explaining the history of Isola. It was a nice, interesting stay also from a historical point of view.

Arriving late in the evening on motorbikes, five of us ask if they have something for us to sleep and eat and fortunately Mr Maurizio, the owner of this ancient post office, welcomes us with open arms. He puts us up in a spectacular attic. At dinner we eat an appetizer based on bresaola, cheeses and the famous pizzicherò which we found good but much more delicate than the Valtellina classics. Genuine wine and homemade desserts. Sweet and savory for breakfast without quantity limits. Excellent value for money. Courteous and kind staff. Congratulations to Mr. Maurizio who has expertly run this ancient inn for decades. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful place for mountain and nature lovers

Nel suo insieme la struttura e mi riferisco al solo ristorante, è caratteristica e ammodernata di recente. La sala è ben preparata e I tavoli sono alla giusta distanza per essere comodi nello spostarsi. Purtroppo però il menù non è stato all'altezza del luogo montano. Di primo c'erano tagliatelle ragù/ pomodoro o ravioli e di secondo costine ma senza polenta e altro. Il conto, nella media per la consumazione. Consiglio di rivedere i piatti proposti

Ci siamo fermati a mangiare percorrendo la Via Spluga a piedi, non abbiamo pernottato. La locanda è molto bella ma abbiamo speso più di 60 euro per mangiare quello che ha mangiato chi ha usufruito del pranzo di lavoro. Sicuramente a prezzi diversi. Il cibo non era male ma niente di che. Prezzo turistico... 😉

Passati di recente in gruppo, siamo stati molto ben accolti, ma siamo rimasti delusi per la cena. Primi piatti serviti con ampia differita, imbarazzante, ma soprattutto troppo tiepidi. Per i l resto: buoni i secondi (la carne al forno forse un po' secca ai bordi), buono il dolce e prezzi decisamente buoni. Se potessimo dare un consiglio, diremmo di servire i piatti fumanti e con maggiore contemporaneità. Location veramente bella.

Bella sala del camino, davvero storica, cibo genuino, mirtilli da ricordare, servizio veloce e simpatico, prezzo adeguato.
