22/04/2026: I booked for my girlfriend's birthday. The owner, Martina, was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable in explaining the dishes. The atmosphere itself is very cozy, intimate, and family-friendly. The food is tasty and carefully prepared, with local and carefully selected ingredients. Overall, highly recommended for a romantic and relaxing dinner.

23/02/2026: I went for lunch with my parents on Sunday. Beautiful restaurant in Santa Caterina. Careful mountain-style atmosphere. Excellent, attentive service. Superlative food. Delicious sciatt, stringy and not at all greasy. Delicious pizzoccheri, very cheesy. A special mention goes to the braulio creamed pasta as a fitting conclusion. Everything was excellent. We'll definitely be back when we go to Santa Caterina.

The complaints in the negative comments should be more objective and take all factors into account! Highly recommended! The pizzoccheri are dreamy! PS: The only lodge open on September 28th in Val Zebrù!

26/09/2025: We passed by on July 23rd: we had booked a refuge, but along the trail a family recommended we stop here for the quality of the food. I can 100% confirm that the food is excellent: the tiramisu, in particular, is among the best I've ever tasted, if not the best. Highly recommended! A place to return to not only for the food, but also for the scenery and the warm welcome from the owners.

02/01/2026: We came here with high expectations given the reviews, but what can I say? It was a truly negative experience for us. The appetizer was acceptable (I've had better), the pizzoccheri was far too thick and poorly bound together, and the tagliatelle with mushrooms couldn't be classified; they were tough, short, and very thick—in short, they were anything but tagliatelle. The venison stew tasted good, but the meat was a bit tough. They call it home cooking, and all I can say is, "You guys ate really badly at your house." I can't rate the dessert because, after the owner's sarcasm, she was offended by my comment that the tagliatelle weren't exactly to our liking (we left the plate whole), we decided to leave. P.S. It's a shame because the location is very beautiful.

10/04/2026: We went for pizza since we'd heard good things about it. The place is nice, with the usual parking problem, but you know what I mean. The pizza wasn't to our liking because it was really too light. I usually can't finish one, but not only did I finish this pizza, I was still hungry. It looks like a dry, unsalted focaccia with something on top. As for the restaurant, I don't know; my experience was just for pizza.

06/04/2026: Frodolfo is always excellent. I've been there several times over the years and have always had a great experience. The traditional dishes are delicious and beautifully presented, and the pizza is thin and crispy. Service is fast and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but we especially appreciate the owners' friendliness and helpfulness. Recommended for those seeking a relaxing stay, a family vacation immersed in nature, and also for those who love hiking, as it's a great starting point for many walks.

02/09/2025: I confirm the positive things I've already said. Wonderful location between Gavia and Santa Caterina. Stunning views. Everyone is friendly and smiling. Trust their recommendations, the specials of the day... but save room for the mixed cheese platter (superb cheeses) and, of course, the desserts made with their milk. The mountain hut is also a halfway point/stop on hiking trails. You can't miss it. I'll definitely return and recommend it.
