06/08/2026: I would have loved to dine with you, but I was saddened to read this sentence when booking online: "While we love four-legged friends, we would like to inform you that we cannot accommodate them in our restaurant for organizational/structural reasons and to ensure a comfortable environment for all our guests. Thank you for your understanding." Whoever writes something like this 1) doesn't like animals 2) discriminates against those who choose to care for them 3) is not inclusive of those visiting your region. While it is the restaurateur's right to decide whether or not to welcome animals, my right to express myself leads me to give you one star. In response to the manager, the review is precisely about politics, as I explained, a common thing I've noticed with many restaurants in Valtellina. For a dinner out, I had to make dozens of calls. I struggled, quite a bit, to find a place that would let me dine in a separate room. Starting with "we love animals, but" is a bit of a red herring. Justifying yourself and saying the review is unfair is even worse. You have the right to have whatever policy you prefer for whatever reason, but the way you communicated it made my experience (which starts with the booking, whether you're aware of it and accept it or not) worthy of a star.

08/07/2026: Today we made a double stop at Berninpeiam and after a hike on the path to the Yresero hill, we received a super welcome and excellent food, but above all the pizzoccheri... truly delicious!

30/09/2025: Enchanting place, super welcoming and kind owners! Prices in line with the location, altitude, and management! The complaints in the negative comments should be more objective and take all factors into account! Highly recommended! The pizzoccheri are dreamy! PS: The only lodge open on September 28th in Val Zebrù!

26/09/2025: We passed by on July 23rd: we had booked a refuge, but along the trail a family recommended we stop here for the quality of the food. I can 100% confirm that the food is excellent: the tiramisu, in particular, is among the best I've ever tasted, if not the best. Highly recommended! A place to return to not only for the food, but also for the scenery and the warm welcome from the owners.

11/07/2026: This restaurant is 10 stars. Delicious food, spotlessly clean, and dog-friendly. The service and attention are top-notch, as is the friendliness. We go every time we pass through town. A magical little place. You can also sit outside in front of the restaurant. Extraordinary wine selection! See you next time ❤️

05/03/2026: We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 3 nights with our 4-year-old son. It's a family-run hotel, and you can immediately feel the warmth. We arrived early in the morning to enjoy a day of skiing, and not only was our room ready and available, but the owner also offered us breakfast. We've never seen anything like this in many hotels I've visited. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with plenty of towels and everything we needed. The dinners were delicious, and the service from the owners and waiter Cristian was very attentive and friendly, satisfying all the needs of both adults and children. My wife also enjoyed the well-kept and clean wellness center. This is a highly recommended place to enjoy the magnificent slopes of Santa Caterina. The new La Fonte ski lift, Mirilla Land, and the extraordinary cross-country ski trail are just a 2-minute walk away. A free bus to the gondola lift stops in front of the hotel every 12 minutes. The only downside was the parking, although free and available, was a bit cramped and narrow, with icy snow, but it was perfectly acceptable given all the effort and passion. Very satisfied, we'll definitely be back.

15/02/2026: Family owned and Italian hospitality at its best. Absolutely amazing stay the staff are incredibly helpful fantastic service. Valentina was exceptionally helpful in adjusting our reservation it was seamless. The hotel is extremely clean, warm and comfortable. Rooms spacious and cleaned daily fresh linen and towels extremely comfortable bed. Sauna and steam with a towel and slipper bag 👌 practical. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner options and quality of food superb. ❤️ 🇮🇹💚

02/01/2026: We came here with high expectations given the reviews, but what can I say? It was a truly negative experience for us. The appetizer was acceptable (I've had better), the pizzoccheri was far too thick and poorly bound together, and the tagliatelle with mushrooms couldn't be classified; they were tough, short, and very thick—in short, they were anything but tagliatelle. The venison stew tasted good, but the meat was a bit tough. They call it home cooking, and all I can say is, "You guys ate really badly at your house." I can't rate the dessert because, after the owner's sarcasm, she was offended by my comment that the tagliatelle weren't exactly to our liking (we left the plate whole), we decided to leave. P.S. It's a shame because the location is very beautiful.

15/07/2026: The place has a fantastic view and the traditional dishes are made with quality ingredients. This isn't a given when you have passing customers, so I'll gladly return and bring friends. The strudel is the best I've ever tasted. With the addition of walnuts, cream, and those flavorful apples, it deserves 100 stars.

01/07/2026: A very nice hotel, run by a very friendly couple. Perfect for a Transalp stopover: bike storage, tools, and spare parts are available. Excellent value for money with half-board (good breakfast and dinner). Would gladly stay again :-)

31/05/2026: The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms haven't been renovated in a while, but that didn't bother me. My only complaint is that I expected a bit more from the dinner for the price. Otherwise, it's a pleasant hotel.

07/02/2026: We have been here in the restaurant 3 times for dinner during our stay in the city. Pizza was tasty as the other food we ordered. The waitress was nice. There is very authentic atmosphere in the restaurant.

29/03/2026: The friendly staff and location on the ski slopes make this restaurant perfect. It's a shame that the chairlift, which starts right next door, is currently closed.

17/09/2025: We've been back a couple of times already, not to stay, but for dinner: exquisite home-made products. We also tried Taroz (a traditional Valtellina dish, now hard to find). The owners are lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

02/09/2025: I confirm the positive things I've already said. Wonderful location between Gavia and Santa Caterina. Stunning views. Everyone is friendly and smiling. Trust their recommendations, the specials of the day... but save room for the mixed cheese platter (superb cheeses) and, of course, the desserts made with their milk. The mountain hut is also a halfway point/stop on hiking trails. You can't miss it. I'll definitely return and recommend it.
