Last Sunday walk in Chiavenna (SO). And of course the culinary stage could not be missed. We booked and chose the Crotto Quartino in Santa Croce di Piuro (SO). A fantastic reality that marries good food with local tradition. Here, the quality of the products and raw materials is indisputable. From appetizer to dessert it is an ecstasy of flavors that make you feel the Chiavenna valley in its characteristic crotti. Welcome and hospitality are perceptible from the beginning to the end of this experience.
As a couple or in the company of friends, it is the right location for a lunch or dinner. The complete menu and drinks included are highly recommended. Eat and drink as much as you want!!! 😋😋😋

23/03/2024: The crotto itself is very beautiful and is on 2 floors where it is possible to have lunch and eat typical Valtellina cuisine. The price is average and the cuisine is absolutely good, the typicality is in the basement where it is possible to take a mini-tour in which they explain the seasoning of cured meats to you

26/03/2024: Starter based on cured meats is truly a delight for the palate, and as a first I recommend everyone morsels of venison, it is so tender that it melts in the mouth... with polenta taragna

19/02/2024: Posto meraviglioso, personale gentilissimo, camere ampie e pulite, piatti buonissimi, colazione super tutti prodotti fatti in casa... torta di castagne spaziale. Siamo stati benissimo
17/02/2024: Unico posto aperto nel percorso ciclopedonale per le cascate e fidatevi ne vale la pena. Personale supergentile e preparato. I piatti sono superlativi e ad ottimi prezzi. Lo consiglio a tutti.

Rifugio Savogno

09/09/2023: Siamo saliti a Savogno per il bel sentiero panoramico della cascate dell'Acqua Fraggia. Il borgo - in parte restaurato - è molto bello: case tutte in pietra e legno.
Abbiamo mangiato al rifugio una pasta fatta in casa di farina di castagne con un sugo particolare alla camomilla, molto delicato. Una buona sosta con titolare e personale molto cortesi.
Organizzano due turni per pranzo: 12:30 e 14 ed è consigliabile prenotare. Può sembrare una rigidità ma serve a evitare eccessivi assembramenti e quindi a servire i clienti senza pressione sui tempi: lo abbiamo apprezzato.

Mangio ogni settimana in rifugio, questo me lo ricorderò negativamente.
In altri rifugi le stesse cose avrei speso tra 50/60 e mi hanno fatto pagare pure il genepy. MAI PIÙ

28/10/2023: Wie immer super gegessen und einen fröhlichen nachmittag erlebt. Dieses Restaurant muss man lieben, typisch italienisch und sehr familiär. Für uns immer wieder eine Erlebnis-Gastronomie von der man immer wieder spricht.
17/09/2023: Auf unserer Wanderung von der Rofflaschlucht hinauf nach Juf, haben wir hier zu Abend gegessen, übernachtet und gefrühstückt.
Valentino, der Wirt, und Rosella, seine Ehefrau und guter Geist des Hauses und vor allem der Küche, haben uns an diesem Abend mit ihrem bekannt guten Menu verwöhnt. Zwar gab es heute den „famoso gatto Braten“ nicht, den Valentino mit Schalk im Nacken seit 2014 „su richiesta in alternativa specialità“ anbietet und den er sicherlich auch mit einem Lachen im Gesicht und einem gemurmelten „wer’s glaubt wird seelig“ serviert hätte. Dazu gab es den Hauswein, einen ausgezeichneten roten Curtefranca, der auch dem gehaltvollen Käse, darunter einem zehnjährigen "Bitto" von der Alp des Bruders Davide, bzw. des Neffen Gianmaria standhielt. Dass dieser "Bitto" zwangsläufig kein Ex-Bitto-storico bzw. heute Storico Ribelle aus den Bergamasker-Alpen südlich und nördlich des Passo San Marco sein konnte, tat dem keinen Abbruch.
Dass Rossella und Valentino zugewandte und hilfsbereite Menschen der Berge mit einem großen Herzen sind, bedarf ausdrücklicher Erwähnung.
