07/07/2025: We had a group lunch, nothing to say, everything was good from the appetizers to the dessert, 2 very good first courses, I really appreciated the one with truffle, we will definitely be back.

30/04/2025: Farmhouse surrounded by greenery, family run, really kind and helpful, we stayed there for a birthday, the rooms need a bit of tidying up, the details are a bit lost but nothing that cannot be remedied, good food, very nice place... it's nice to see a family collaborating in the family business... thank you very much for your availability and kindness!!

23/02/2025: We went for lunch today, found it by chance and were happy to have met him... we had a great time, Lorena and her children were very kind and friendly, simple as we like it, homemade and delicious food from appetizer to dessert, plentiful and the price was also good😁😜...place in the midst of beautiful nature, peace....I highly recommend it, I can't wait to go back 🥰😋❣️ thanks Lorena!

19/07/2025: Fantastico "ristornate di quartiere" dove ci si può sedere per una pizza veloce o per abbuffarsi con carne di ottima qualità (uno per pochi locali dove servono carne frollata prezzi più che onesti!) Rigorosamente cotta alla brace. Il servizi risuota essere socievole e veloce. Insomma, ti senti tra amici. Super consigliato!

22/07/2025: The restaurant looked good upon arrival: the place was attractive, lively, and the food was generally good, although the prices were high. The service was also decent… until the problem arose. We ordered a fish dish from the English menu (since we were traveling with people who didn't understand Italian), and they brought us something completely different, only the type of fish was the same. When we mentioned it, the waiter told us that the dish we had ordered was no longer on the menu. The problem wasn't just that the dish wasn't available, but that no one informed us about it and they served us another one without asking or warning. When I expressed my displeasure, the waiter simply replied, "Okay, thank you," without giving any further explanation or showing any intention of engaging in dialogue. At that point, we decided to pay and leave. When I went to pay, I saw that they were charging us €42 for a dish that we had neither ordered nor enjoyed. I asked again and was shown another menu (this time in Italian), which did list the fish we were served… but not the one we originally ordered. I thought maybe I had been mistaken, so we paid and left, albeit very unhappy. Later, when I reviewed some photos I had taken of the English menu to translate for my family, I confirmed that I hadn't been mistaken: the dish I ordered did appear on the English menu, but what they served was a completely different one. I don't know if it was a mistake, a mix-up, or a very dishonest approach, but I felt cheated. Having an outdated menu, not informing the customer of the change, and then showing a different one to justify the charge is unacceptable to me. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place and won't return. I've attached a photo of the English menu showing the fish I had ordered but wasn't served, as proof, since Italian menus are up-to-date and anyone can check this.

04/07/2025: Unfortunately, Il San Lorenzo was our worst dining experience in Rome. From the start, we felt unwelcome — the staff was overly strict about where we placed our baby stroller, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. We were seated near the kitchen in a hot, uncomfortable area, even though a cooler, air-conditioned room was available. It seems discriminating. The food was mediocre and forgettable, especially compared to the high standards we experienced in Venice and Milan. Nothing stood out in flavor or presentation. What made the experience worse was the cold, almost dismissive attitude from the staff, which left us feeling uncomfortable — at times even wondering if we were being treated differently for being Asian. Overall, between the lack of hospitality, the non-functioning AC, and the underwhelming food, we wouldn’t return. Rome has many better options.

The counter overflows with temptation: golden pastries dusted in sugar, delicate cakes that melt at the first touch, savory bites that whisper promises of old family recipes. Sweet or salty, every choice feels like a small celebration. And then there’s the coffee… rich, velvety, and deep — the kind of espresso that doesn’t just wake you up, it holds you for a moment and tells you, this is Rome. The prices? Almost unreal. In a city where a small fast-food menu can cost fifteen euros, here you can leave satisfied, heart and belly full, for around five per person. It feels like a quiet rebellion against the overpriced and overhyped. There are no crowds of tourists here — just locals and a few lucky wanderers who found it by chance. Doves gather outside, fluttering between tables as if they, too, know this is the place to start the day. It’s not in the guidebooks, and maybe it never should be. But for those who stumble upon it, this little Roman breakfast haven will stay with you long after you’ve left.

10/05/2025: Highly recommended! We have been for dinner several times in this small restaurant (I think it has about 30 seats) and we have always eaten very well. Excellent and well presented dishes. Truly kind and attentive service but, in any case, not rigid. The cost is not low but the quality/price ratio is certainly more than correct. A certainty.

05/07/2025: This wound up being our “go to” place for coffee in the morning. It is simple and unassuming, but the coffee is great and the staff always gave us a warm welcome. Even if only for a few days, we felt like locals here.

15/08/2025: I visited this restaurant on a Thursday, when it wasn't very crowded. It was a very well-maintained and well-run place, with very kind waiters. It's a shame they brought me a different dish than the one I ordered, but it was still really good, and the price was very fair for the service I received. I'll be back.
