05/04/2024: After several days in the city, where we have been served in all kinds of ways in restaurants (we are surprised by how they treat tourists like livestock on many occasions - also in museums and visits to historical heritage - rushing you everywhere so that you eat quickly, you decide quickly and removing the dishes from the table almost without finishing, even making bad faces or ugly gestures) we found this place by chance, in the same square where we were staying!
We found it to be a simple place, with traditional food and a pleasant atmosphere.
We decided to have dinner on the terrace and everything was great.
Delicious food and friendly service, although they didn't have some things on the menu and they started clearing up the terrace while we continued dining (it didn't take us more than an hour), but we loved the experience.
Last night we decided to repeat, we entered at 8:30 p.m. and things changed.
The rush to take your note began, the disdain when you asked for the menu that they didn't have, and the bad faces and ugly gestures.
“Ask me for things at once and that way I'll save the trip”, “I've already told you that I don't have this” and things like that.
The dishes came half cold and we did not dare to say anything given the panorama.
They throw things at you on the table (they almost poured the broth on me).
They get upset if you ask them something you don't understand or want to ask for something else...
There wasn't even a line of people to get in, but they don't want complications and they want you to eat quickly and leave quickly (we had dinner in an hour or less, the standard, we would have stayed a little longer having a wine but we felt pressured and we left... )
Once again we feel like mere cattle.
In summary:
Good place to dine on traditional food, good preparations, but sometimes they overwhelm themselves and lose quality; the service and the dish.
A shame because except for this issue, the place is highly recommended.
Medium-high prices.
04/04/2024: One of the best restaurants we have been to in Italy, and that is saying something! Honest food, real Roman, not just the standard pasta or pizza. More like cooking by "la mama". Great atmosphere, straight, down to earth staff. And very good prices. We were a party of 2, with 3 courses and a bottle of wine, for 70 euro's. Go to this place!
