14/03/2024: You eat well, genuine and obviously spicy dishes. Staff available for small variations. A place I go to 2 or 3 times a year, always willingly. You are welcomed with a prosecco and proceed by sharing the meat dishes on the traditional ingera. All the stews are worth it, but I recommend the lamb zighini

17/03/2024: Going down the stairs of the Eritrea restaurant and being immediately surrounded by scents and warm atmospheres is just the prelude to a unique taste experience. Because once seated you are overwhelmed by the spicy flavors of the meats and vegetables served on the ingera, to be eaten strictly with your hands sharing with friends. Service and courtesy at the highest level, which is not at all a given.
Highly recommended!

The place is clean and well kept, if you like the type of cuisine and are in the area it's a must try.
14/02/2024: Super traditional environment for equally traditional cuisine, exquisite food that accompanies you from appetizer to dessert for a unique experience.
Special mention for the owner who sweetly and with a smile accompanies you dish after dish. I will definitely go back

06/04/2024: I have been there four times with my girlfriend. We enjoyed the food and service. Also for the take away service was also great. I definitely recommend for anyone who is travelling to Roma and look for authentic Ethiopian/ Eritrean cuisine.
05/04/2024: The Asmara Restaurant was a real surprise hidden in the heart of Rome, and I have to say that my experience here was absolutely excellent. As a fan of ethnic cuisine, I have always looked for authentic places that offer a genuine culinary experience, and I must say that Asmara exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment I entered, I was overwhelmed by a warm, welcoming and truly ethnic atmosphere. The traditional furnishings and mestizo decorations have made the environment a true meeting place for lovers of African culture.
I had the pleasure of tasting a variety of traditional Eritrean and Ethiopian dishes and each bite was an explosion of authentic, spicy flavours. An authentic culinary experience.
What struck me even more was the kindness and hospitality of the owner and staff. With kindness
and courtesy accompanied the entire meal, always ready to advise and joke.
And as for the prices, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Considering the quality of the food and the unique atmosphere, the prices were more than reasonable, especially for being in Rome.
Ultimately, the Asmara Restaurant is a true culinary treasure in Rome. I will definitely come back to savor the magic of this place again. If you are looking for a different experience from the usual Roman restaurant, I highly recommend you visit Asmara. You will not regret it!

Every time my (Italian) husband goes to buy ingária they give him the old ones. The second time they justify themselves by saying that the request was higher than the availability. It's like going to the baker and buying bread from the day before. It's incorrect

24/02/2024: Mi sono recato in questo locale un venerdi' sera assieme alla mia fidanzata grazie ad un buono che mi era stato regalato. Il ristorante sorge a meta' strada tra la Prenestina e la stazione omonima e una volta dentro ci si immerge subito nel fantastico clima dell'Africa Orientale, un mix di gusto eritreo ed etiope. Il personale e' sempre molto gentile e disponibile, oltre che rapido nelle ordinazioni e nel servizio. Consiglio a tutti di iniziare con degli ottime antipastini di falafel e sambusa, ovvero polpettine fritte di legumi speziate e involtini di carne e lenticchie. Come piatto principale poi fatevi portare la loro tipica piada che sorregge tutti i tipi di carne e verdure caratteristici della cucina locale: sopra la piada troverete infatti il tibes rosso (carne di manzo con berbere', cipolla e spezie piccanti), i gomen besega (broccoletti), la zihla (dadini di manzo crudo con salsa awaze), lo shiro (pure' di ceci) e la hamli (verdure saltate con spezie). Tra i dolci poi molto buono il classico beklava, un dolce alla noci con farina di grano e zucchero. Innaffiate il tutto con un ottimo vino rosso africano e passerete senza dubbio una fantastica serata. Prezzi modici e ottima qualita' della cucina: ASSOLUTAMENTE CONSIGLIATO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11/12/2023: Cena con amici, siamo stati benissimo! Abbiamo preso antipasto misto e sambusa sia di carne che di verdure, entrambe buonissime. Anche i piatti principali molto buoni, ognuno con un sapore chiaro e distinto. Le quantità erano abbondanti, si potrebbe pensare di dividere il piatto principale con una persona. La gestione è impeccabile, la signora che ci ha servito è stata molto attenta e ha ascoltato tutte le nostre esigenze di gusto, in particolare sul piccante che è stato dosato secondo le nostre richieste in ogni singolo piatto. La location è semplice ed essenziale, rimane cmq gradevole. Rapporto qualità/quantità/ prezzo è eccellente. Torneremo

16/10/2023: Sono stato a cena con amici, dopo aver presenziato alla cerimonia per l'anniversario della morte del Generale Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa..
Abbiamo fatto sosta in questo meraviglioso posto circondato da prati e pace.. posso dire con tutta la franchezza che si mangia divinamente è i prezzi sono del tutto onesti. In poche parole ci troviamo in una piccola oasi di pace e verde...
