20/12/2025: Cafè Stofner is a simple and pleasant spot with a calm atmosphere. The coffee is good, the pastries are fresh, and the service is polite. It’s a nice place for a quick break or a light snack, offering good quality for a reasonable price.

14/11/2025: We tried the bar once and found the staff to be less than courteous, almost annoying, and even greeting you with a "ciao" and the hot chocolate was watery. Only the chic atmosphere was pleasant. Failed.

08/12/2025: We discovered this place a few months ago. We'd heard great things about it, so out of curiosity, we decided to try it. The first time we went for pizza, it was a pleasant surprise. It was truly delicious: crispy, well-topped, and not at all heavy, which is rare these days. When you eat well, you don't have to worry about the extra euro. This time, too, we were satisfied with the quality and price. We were so pleased that we decided to organize our daughter's confirmation. We arranged for an aperitif of mixed-flavor pizzas (which the guests loved), followed by a grilled meat platter with sides. They outdid themselves here: the meat melted in your mouth, soft, tender, and truly EXCELLENT. There was a mix of beef, pork, spareribs, Lucanghe sausages, and sausages, and the platters were generous. The potatoes were truly delicious. We had the whole room to ourselves, a group of about 25 people, and when there are small children who can roam freely, it's a godsend. In fact, I must admit, they gave us a lot of freedom and were very patient, as children are notoriously lively. The service was very fast, and despite being staffed by young people, it was precise, courteous, and orderly. The owner is a wonderful person, she puts you at ease and is available in every way; you can tell she cares about ensuring her guests are completely satisfied. We also had a vegetarian guest, and they prepared a delicious mixed platter for him as well, so they accommodate those requests/needs as well. We didn't have the pleasure of eating the fish, but we'll definitely try next time, as the kitchen produced some truly inviting dishes. We also discovered that you can order fresh Florentine steak that day; they don't have anything vacuum-packed in the fridge for days, so you have to reserve it. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it. The location is pleasant, especially the outdoor area, which is certainly delightful in spring/summer, being at the foot of the mountain. My only regret is that at the moment (December 2025), work on the old ice rink has made the short stretch of road (just a few steps) to get to the restaurant a little less convenient. I think the municipality of Laives could have been a little more considerate and respectful of the work of these people who put so much effort and are so dedicated to their work. In any case, it certainly won't be a deterrent for us because, given the way the food is served, this "inconvenience" that wasn't their fault is easily overcome. I'm sorry I don't have any photos, even if the eye couldn't quite tell you the quality of the meat, but we were too busy eating it rather than photographing it. 😁 Congratulations to the owners and all the staff.

30/08/2025: Rude lady: When we asked, "Is there room for two or are you full?" she replied, "We're not full, but not today." And she sent us away!!! Totally rude.

27/08/2025: Good food with a set menu and reservations required in a fantastic, old-fashioned, yet immaculately kept location. The lady serving is very kind, and there's no wait. The only downside is not receiving a written bill, and having been there twice, I paid the same amount, even though we ordered less food and wine the second time. .

17/02/2025: Unfriendly, incompetent, and slow! Not recommended. We wanted to have lunch with our children and sat down at a free table. We were ignored for more than 10 minutes, then the waiter came and said the table was reserved – he couldn't tell us in advance (but he could tell other guests). He didn't want to find another table for us, so we left… A PURE WASTE OF TIME!

31/12/2025: Squalid and dirty place. Grumpy and rude staff. We'd asked for toast and were invited to sit down without any problem. After just five minutes, a group of 10 young people arrived, and the waiter, after taking the order from these young people who had also ordered toast, came over to us and said, "We don't have any more toast." My wife, dumbfounded by the fact that we'd been passed over for no reason, received a "I can't do anything about it" from an unfriendly waiter. When we got to the person who had initially seated us, indicating that toast was available, he too shrugged, saying, "What do you want from me," as if we'd never spoken to him. Vile! You could clearly feel the annoyance of having us in the bar. Outside, there was another group complaining about the same rude treatment from the waiters. If you want to run a business, as in any profession, especially one open to the public, you must never lack patience and POLITE! We were truly disappointed, especially by the cold and heartless way in which we were treated by three small children waiting for their toast. One word: SHAME!

12/11/2025: Admittedly, our first impression wasn't convincing. But we were completely wrong: the sausages, potato salad, pumpkin soup, piadina, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and pastries were excellent! The service was also incredibly friendly. All in all, a perfect break and snack. Thank you so much, and see you next time!

17/12/2025: 1908 is one of those places that truly stays with you. Dinner kicked off with an actual bite of a lemon leaf from the tree on our table and we immediately understood this won’t be an ordinary dinner. Soulful and savory dishes each centered on a surprise element, from the Alto Adige wagyu to the truly memorable lemon thyme raviolo. The “walk” through Aspinger’s garden for the vegetable dish is pure poetry. Warm service, intimate atmosphere, each course came with its own carefully chosen glass of wine (the Abendrot niedermayr was the one that stayed with me and surprised me the most) An authentic experience, chef Stephan Zippl & team 10/10

15/12/2025: The service was a complete disaster. The sommelier's disdain was unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. The dishes were beautiful but unfortunately very unusual. We also told the sommelier and the chef that we didn't like the food, but they didn't seem interested in understanding why. The wine prices are also excessive compared to other restaurants of this standing. A very disappointing experience for this type of establishment. I don't recommend going there; there are much better restaurants in the area.

09/11/2025: I had to wait forever for a doner kebab. The doner kebab was prepared in a side room, which is extremely small, and they wanted more money from me than was listed on the menu.

29/09/2025: My girlfriend and I unfortunately only stayed one night in your cozy Ortlerblick suite on our return trip from Milan. We were overwhelmed by the beautiful 180-degree view of the Alps from our balcony and our accommodation. Our suite was very modern and absolutely clean. The Illmer family owns a very well-maintained, comfortable, and tastefully furnished property, which they make available to their guests along with friendly and courteous staff. Not only the very friendly hotelier, but also the service team took great care of our well-being. The 5-course dinner menu was exceptionally varied, a feast for the eyes, and very digestible. For a vegetarian like me, there was a huge selection of delicacies. The service came to our table regularly and discreetly to provide us with the best culinary delights. The selection of drinks, both at dinner and breakfast, left nothing to be desired. The breakfast offerings were very extensive. There were a variety of fresh juices, fruit, rolls, bread, cheeses, etc. We are very sorry we only booked for one night. Next time, we will definitely stay longer to have more time for the luxurious wellness area. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her massage in the afternoon. 27/09/2025: We stumbled upon this place yesterday and it was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings in broth were delicious, and the goulash was excellent. We returned today, and the pork shank with sauerkraut was excellent and very filling.

30/12/2025: We stayed at the Plosehütte for four nights with half-board, a group of 15. The hut has been newly renovated and has a very special charm at this altitude. The new hut team is very welcoming and makes sure you feel comfortable. The food was excellent, and special requests were accommodated whenever possible. We'll be back!
