27/08/2025: The hotel is in a wonderful location; the rooms are welcoming and the staff is always helpful. I stayed with my family and really appreciated the attention paid to our little ones. The cuisine is refined and excellent. The rooms are meticulously clean.

10/10/2025: FOUND HAIR in the ice cream and the owner just said "It's normal here" and did nothing about it or even said sorry. The taste is only so-so. NOT RECOMMENDED

04/11/2025: A small, charming pizzeria (and bar) frequented by many locals. The service is extremely friendly, and in my opinion, the pizza is the best in the area (Kronplatz, Rasen-Antholz). The Jägerpizza (hunter's pizza) is fantastic.

08/03/2026: Very friendly staff, excellent food. The only thing that needs improvement is the Amatriciana!!! I'll be back to check on the progress.

25/01/2026: We just checked out of our wonderful room here at the Royal after a wonderful week of skiing. We weren't expecting much from reading the various reviews, but we wanted to give it a try anyway given the fabulous location, and we did just fine. Anita at the front desk is very helpful and cheerful and greeted us immediately. A member of staff showed us around to see where the spa, ski room, restaurant, and more were located. Our room was truly huge, with a view of the Boè, clean, warm, and perhaps a little dark, but perfect for us, as we have two children. The dining room was spacious, intimate, and clean. The food was excellent, with many traditional dishes and great flexibility, even with requests for dishes other than the menu, such as desserts and some children's dishes, or special requests based on personal tastes. The "post-dinner" room is perhaps renovated compared to the rest of the hotel, and it's really nice to play cards after a day of skiing with grappa, hot tea, etc. A few small suggestions, if they're welcome: the pool temperature is a bit chilly (they explained it was due to the proliferation of bacteria, etc.), but I think it could be warmed up a few degrees. The games room would have been nice, but there were no rackets and balls for ping pong. Perhaps some other toys would be useful for the kids. The ski room could use a few lockers and perhaps an extra bench. The evening buffet would be nice to expand with local cheeses and cold cuts, as well as the various types of bread. The breakfast room is perhaps a bit small, and the buffet is a bit limited, although you can ask the waiters for eggs, bacon, etc. The table service was a bit confusing, but this is due to the inexperience of the new staff. The location is excellent, very close to the slopes. We'll definitely be back next year because it's truly excellent value for money. Thank you so much, Royal, until next year.

19/01/2026: I was with a group from Poland for New Year's Eve. We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, the rooms were modest but comfortable, some had balconies. The views were of the mountains, which were illuminated by the rising sun in the morning. The service was great. I recommend it.

03/01/2026: New Year's Eve spent at the Elefant Hotel was fantastic. Friendly service and amazing food, at least for New Year's Eve. Totally amazing. The town is quiet but well-organized. They issue free transportation passes for everywhere on buses, coaches, and trains. I recommend this place.

13/12/2025: Be cautious if you have allergens!! Great looking building, had lunch outside with 10 friends. Service was very slow, and they were not overly busy. 2 mains arrived then a wait of 15-20 minutes for the other 8 meals, by which time the first 2 where finished. Scarily my pizza without cheese arrived with cheese, and I was told it was not cheese but the mushrooms! Staggering! I returned it and 5 minutes later the correct pizza arrived. Be very cautious if you have allergens!! Won't be returning.

31/08/2025: Driven by curiosity for a very frank response to a negative review, I chose to eat at this restaurant, and the result was excellent. The food was good, plentiful, with attention to the plating, excellent table service, a magnificent view from the large windows, and prices absolutely in line with other restaurants in the valley. 10 out of 10

23/01/2026: So-so. For a place located in the city center, next to a bus stop, and with no competition nearby, we expected something more. Friendly service, a wide selection of dishes and drinks, but the taste was average. We had pizza, aglio olio pasta, some Chinese food, and that was it. We chose other places for our next dinners.

03/01/2026: Restaurant, no comment. Exorbitant prices and terrible service. They take your plates away while you're eating even though the place is empty. We had to ask for bread! A Milanese for €18 from the menu! A MILANESE! 😅🤦🏻‍♂️ Not recommended

08/12/2025: We stopped at this restaurant for dinner, a group of four. Upon entry, we were greeted by the waiter who seated us in a deserted, unheated room. Despite repeated requests to move to the heated room, we were ignored until a seat finally became available in the main room and we annoyedly asked to be moved. The service was very sketchy; the waitress (who I assume was the owner) left cutlery and napkins in the center of the table without handing them out or setting the table. The pizzas weren't among the best I've had, being of a medium-low standard. The fries were almost raw on the pizza, and the vegetable pizza wasn't what we'd asked for. When we asked for parmesan, they brought us the grated kind you put on pasta. And finally, the surprise was the bill!!! The prices didn't match those on the menu, but were all higher; for example, the capricciosa went from 10 to 13 euros. We won't be returning.

12/11/2025: I was there a few days ago. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service excellent, and the food very good. Prices were a little high at first, but considering the portions, they were average! It's a shame it's so far away, otherwise I'd gladly return often.

06/10/2025: Very rude owners. When we entered, they didn't say hello, and when we paid again, they didn't say hello even though the pizzeria was practically empty. The lady just looked at us without making a move. It's a shame because the pizzerias weren't that bad.

26/07/2025: The atmosphere was lovely, with soft lighting and candles lit at the tables. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the service was impeccable. This restaurant is excellent for romantic dinners. The pizza was also good. In this case, I had spaghetti with fried eggplant in tomato sauce. It was really good. For dessert, I had a chocolate soufflé with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was also good. For what I ate, I have to say that the quality/price ratio was fair. I recommend this restaurant.

23/02/2026: we stay three nights, got a free travel card (bolzano bozen card) and get to take cable car to visit ritten renon, very pretty view for sure. also travel free to olang to see winter Olympics etc. free breakfast from 8-9, the owner is also very nice, german and Italian works better, but with English, he also communicate with me via Google translate. very good location and price!

04/02/2026: We had a lovely time at the hotel. The rooms were good, although a bit small. The staff was great. The breakfast was also very good, with something for everyone. The location is close to the old town, a 4-minute walk.

05/01/2026: Fantastic, fast, friendly. I happened to pass by on my way back from the markets, and I was intrigued by the boys' shirts, so I went in for a quick margherita. I didn't even have time to pay and it was already ready. If I could, I'd give it 6 stars!

14/12/2025: Ordered three pizzas, a Fanta, and a salad for delivery. The order arrived on time, but the price was slightly higher than average. The only downside: I paid for the Fanta but it wasn't delivered.

04/01/2026: Disappointing Stopover – Value for Money Not Right We spent one night at the Hotel Residence Lorenz during our travels and were unfortunately disappointed. The Apartment: The apartment we were assigned was clearly outdated and looked run-down. While functional for a simple overnight stay, the price was, in our opinion, far too high and in no way justified. It is in dire need of renovation. Service and Hospitality: The owner was very grumpy. There was no sign of the typical South Tyrolean hospitality. He should seriously reconsider his approach to service, as we felt like we were intruding. Restaurant (Mixed Feelings): The food in the attached restaurant was okay. The dishes we ordered – pizza and spaghetti – were tasty and well-prepared. However, a major drawback was the overpowering smell of old frying oil, which permeated the entire area, including the hotel entrance. Our clothes smelled unpleasant afterward, which was very bothersome. Service and Hospitality: The owner was very grumpy. Conclusion: Due to the exorbitant price for outdated accommodation, the inadequate service, and the unpleasant odor in the restaurant area, the Hotel Residence Lorenz is no longer worth a visit for us. For overnight stays while traveling, we will definitely look for an alternative with better value for money and friendlier staff in the future.

17/12/2025: The food was excellent!!! Unfortunately, we witnessed a family argument. The two sisters apparently went after their brother (presumably the cook) and publicly humiliated him in front of us guests, calling him names and things getting quite heated. Hats off to the cook who didn't say much and just let it all happen. It's a shame that this had to be played out publicly in a restaurant. Embarrassing for the sisters to behave like that in a restaurant. 5 stars for the good food. Everything else was unpleasantly embarrassing and cringeworthy!!!!

23/12/2025: A pleasant spot on the promenade in Merano, I had the soup of the day which was fillling and tasted good but what I liked were the sparrows which were around the tables, they were very tame and were happy enough to eat peanuts from my hand 😊
