12/04/2026: There's no other description than paradise on earth 😉 We were so happy to be guests of the family-run Hotel Sonnenheim for the second time now, and we were simply blown away. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and lovingly furnished. There's a huge sauna and relaxation area, a hotel-owned underground parking garage with truly spacious parking spaces, an indoor pool, and a small gym. The staff consists of a small and select team, characterized by their truly exceptional service. Even members of the Plank family (the family that runs the hotel) help out, which is simply fascinating. You can also taste the love that goes into the entire hotel in the food. Breakfast features a large buffet with fresh rolls from the bakery. Dinner consists of an impressive five courses, each one a true delight. It must also be said that the hotel is perfectly located. Due to its slightly exposed position, it enjoys plenty of sunshine. Furthermore, there is a bus stop just 100 meters away, with a line that goes directly to the center of Merano in 20 minutes. The surrounding forests and mountains (Texel Group, Ilfing) also offer excellent hiking opportunities. The Merano 2000 ski area is also very close. In addition, the hotel's value for money is unbeatable and probably unmatched. We would love to come back and look forward to spending more time in one of the most beautiful places imaginable.

09/04/2026: A truly wonderful hotel where we've now spent our second family vacation. It's in a fantastic location for the Merano 2000 hiking area, with a bus stop right outside. The service is incredibly friendly and helpful, and there's a superb spa area with saunas, a steam room, a swimming pool, and more. You can really relax and unwind while enjoying the stunning views. The only downside: there are rarely, if ever, vegetarian or vegan options available at dinner. While they always catered to our dietary needs, which is great, I would have appreciated being able to choose them in advance. Nevertheless, it's simply a lovely place and definitely recommended!

06/04/2026: We ordered pizza to go. It was super fast and the pizza was very good. The menu at the restaurant had even more and different pizzas than you see in pictures or online. Unfortunately, the PDF version of the menu wouldn't open last week.

02/04/2026: Such amazing food and such nice service. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the service was extremely attentive. Big delicious portions for extremely good value.
