20/09/2025: It's absolutely incomprehensible that such a lack of friendliness and service can prevail in such a beautiful setting! The building (an old monastery) and garden, including the pool area, are absolutely well-kept and beautiful! The staff and management, bored and not particularly friendly, go about their business. Guests don't seem welcome, but rather a nuisance. Despite the beautiful setting, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend it!
20/08/2025: Super luxurious, well maintained, spacious, a lot of greenery and big yard, beautiful pool, very warm and welcoming staff, amazing experience in Tuscany region.

05/10/2025: Borgo Sant’Ambrogio is simply beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to create the sense of comfort and ease which oozes from the beautiful spaces throughout the property. This is a very special place.

02/04/2025: Wonderful. New management, new name: CONTRASTI: molecular kitchen. The owner or chef Christian was very attentive, and everything was delicious, a fantastic bread and all food.! I would like to go back to try the tasting menu!
24/03/2025: Non posso fare una recensione sul cibo, però posso dire che sono stati veramente scortesi, perchè dopo aver telefonato più volte per confermare prenotazione inviato messaggi, arrivati davanti al ristorante di sabato sera alle 20:00 ristorante chiuso, ci possono essere milioni di motivi per tenere chiuso, ma obbligo avvertire le persone con la prenotazione, comportamento non accettabile, senza alcun rispetto.

11/01/2026: Disappointing place. The ambiance is poorly maintained, especially the exterior. The food is mediocre, with dishes cooked with low-quality ingredients. The appetizer of cured meats and cheeses was paltry. Two pieces of prosciutto, two of coppa, two of mortadella, and two tiny pieces of cheese. 12 euros. The next evening at another restaurant for the same price, they brought us double the amount. Prices are high for the quality. My overall rating is two stars because the waiter seemed competent and friendly. The rest is one star.
04/01/2026: We had a very good pasta meal here while passing through. Attentive staff, inviting atmosphere in winter.

06/10/2025: We had a three-day Yamaha meeting, a well-stocked breakfast with a variety of choices, and a group-planned dinner with quality dishes and efficient, fast table service. We'll be back at the first opportunity.
23/09/2025: A wonderful, quaint hotel in Tuscany. I recommend dining at the hotel restaurant, where we tried the tasting menu and the meat was fantastic. High-quality Chianti wine, super friendly staff, and a fresh, homemade breakfast. Pet-friendly hotel.

26/02/2026: We only ate homemade pasta, drank a glass of wine and ordered a salad. When we went to pay we were shocked by the price of the meal. This is a tourist trap. The prices are exorbitant. Extremely expensive. And the food is reasonable

12/03/2026: The food at Taverna del Capitano was incredible!! We were recommended the restaurant by a nearby shop owner and stumbled across it after visiting the Siena Duomo. The owner was wonderful and personable, the house wine was fantastic and the pasta is great! Anyone should visit this Tuscan gem!
09/03/2026: A very simple trattoria in the heart of Siena, where we were greeted impeccably by Nicolò and his staff. They immediately made us feel at ease. The quality was excellent. The bill was commensurate with the quality of our food. Anyone who comes to Siena simply must eat here!

19/01/2026: The pizzas have a good dough and good toppings, but the gourmet pizza is really small—it's like a baby pizza. The service isn't the most professional, and the beer price is questionable, so much so that I was served a glass of beer from a super-commercial can.
Nice atmosphere, but there are a lot of things to consider.

28/12/2025: The pizza wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't bad either. However, it wasn't enough to make me want to go back. Also, it was very cold there (at the end of December), so cold you'd think they were skimping on heating. The prices, however, were perfectly reasonable.

The traditional dishes are well-prepared, but overall, they don't stand out compared to other restaurants in Ilcine, even those less highly regarded and more basic. The wine list is impeccable, with many local labels. Compared to other restaurants, the prices are slightly above average.
15/03/2026: The food was outstanding. The service was very strange. They practically kicked us out. They wouldn't even let us finish chewing our food before asking if we wanted dessert. The same thing happened with the appetizers. They were very rushed and cold when serving us. You feel more like a nuisance than a customer.

15/02/2026: Limited seating, and a kitchen that closes early. But highly recommended: a romantic dinner in the small, intimate second room with an excellent selection of wines, including a cheese platter accompanied by honey and jams. Two tartare bases with a variety of flavors are delicious, with excellent truffle and slaw.
The selection of nearly 400 gins helps round out the evening.
The staff is young, but highly trained and, above all, friendly.
02/01/2026: I found this wine shop by chance on a cold January day and liked it. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I recommend using cloth tablecloths and slightly increasing the amount of wine in your glass.

All the ingredients are locally sourced, and the owner puts a lot of effort into researching them.
The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable.

03/01/2026: We stopped a little hesitantly because the entrance wasn't particularly flashy. Appearances can be deceiving, because our dinner was very pleasant. Simple dishes, just the right portions, without too much pretension. Everything was very relaxed.
