17/08/2025: Huge disappointment. Cold welcome, unpleasant waitress. We asked to have coffee on the terrace, but the waitress demanded that we pay the bill first. It was very awkward because it implied we were going to leave without paying, even though we'd been waiting in line to pay for quite a while. A place to avoid if you want to have a good evening.

14/05/2025: Absolutamente INCREÍBLE. Comida local fresca, menú creativo y los propietarios son los mejores. Acabamos de tomar un descanso de la autopista hacia Roma para el almuerzo y accidentalmente encontramos este tesoro.

31/07/2025: The view is lovely, the place though is crowded and loud. Sadly it took forever till we could order and till our coffee arrived. Getting a slice of cake was near impossible because the staff seemed overwhelmed, so we left without dessert.

30/07/2025: Fantastically beautiful location, delicious food, one of the staff was a bit less friendly and the order was wrong, but we didn't charge extra. A great experience 👍

01/05/2025: Abbiamo preferito l'ottima cucina senese, a base di carne e pasta fatta in casa a mano, al menu di pesce, e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti: i piatti, molto curati ed appetitosi, di grande qualità, serviti con attenzione, sono stati tutti molto piacevoli. Il locale, di lunga tradizione, è molto piacevole.

30/04/2025: Era la prima volta che ci andavamo, anche se in pieno centro della nostra città. Sapevamo già che non sarebbe stata una cena da poca spesa, però l'importante è che siamo stati benissimo. 05/07/2025: El mismo día que llegamos a la Toscana decidimos ir a un restaurante cercano recomendado por el hotel. Llegamos al establecimiento donde mi hija de 11 años (que habla Italiano con fluidez) se adelantó y preguntó si podían hospedarnos a los 4. El anfitrión inmediatamente comenzó a maltratarla, en voz muy alta, preguntándole si no era capaz de levantar el teléfono y llamar para solicitar una reserva, entre otras ofensas. Se aseguró de que todo el restaurante pudiera escucharlo e incluso después de que salimos del restaurante pudimos escucharlo haciendo bromas sobre nosotros y los clientes riendo. Seamos claros aquí: si logras ser cruel con un niño, no es un rasgo de personalidad ni tampoco se trata de que no te importe lo que piensen los demás. ES SIMPLEMENTE CRUEL Y MALVADO. Y los clientes que se ríen son igual de malos. Por lo tanto, te sugiero que si lees este post y estás en Montefollonico evites este restaurante o, si lo prefieres, pases por allí, pidas una mesa y cuando te traten mal respondas en el buen y viejo Italiano: VAFFAN… C. U. ¡¡¡L.O!! !! !

18/05/2025: Difficilmente lascio recensioni, nel bene o nel male tendo a non esprimermi. Ma oggi mi sento in dovere di fare gli elogi per un pranzo buonissimo. Servizio e gentilezza di prim'ordine. Il prezzo in linea con la qualità e il servizio. Consiglio vivamente!

12/05/2025: Como canadiense que visitó la Toscana por primera vez, me impresionó encontrar anfitriones acogedores, excelentes cortes de carne cocinados en coordinación con la experiencia de un carnicero y un servicio educado y oportuno!

18/01/2025: Bel locale con parcheggio, in inverno molto accogliente con il bracere acceso, cibo ottimo cucinato all'espresso. Il menù è vario, spazia dalla carne al pesce , c'è davvero una grande scelta. Il fritto di carciofi e fiori per me è impareggiabile. Il personale è gentile e professionale. Il titolare molto cordiale. Rapporto qualità/ prezzo più che buono.

03/01/2025: Posto carino, cibo ottimo. Consigliatissimo per chi vuole gustare pasta fatta in casa e carne di primissima qualità. Ottimo servizio.

19/04/2025: Llegamos aquí cansados y hambrientos. Nos alojamos en una villa cercana y la mayoría de los lugares están cerrados después del almuerzo. Fueron muy amables y nos hicieron los platos como lo solicitamos. Tuvimos un bebé con nosotros y queríamos plato de pollo. La comida era fresca y servida con una sonrisa.

11/12/2024: Locale tipico anni 80, nel bene ma sopratutto nella genuinità dei toscani. Le pizze sono discrete, con i tevoli tutti occupatiu il servizio si rallenta prezzi molto buoni.

06/06/2025: We've been cycling for two weeks. Best accommodation (and value for money) so far. Extremely friendly, excellent food. Beautiful view/sunset from the terrace. The vaulted cellar dinner was also top-notch!

18/08/2025: The staff was very friendly. We had to arrive late, and since there was no one at reception, we couldn't resolve the problem with the air conditioning not working. Everything else was fine.

16/08/2025: Incredible fine dining experience. Impeccable attention to detail with the food and service. I wish I could have had 4x the fagiolini spaghetti with rosemary and bay leaf “fairy” dust. Ambiance dining amongst the 4 walls of a castle is unparalleled. Service ten stars. Wonderful final dinner to finish our time in Tuscany. Enjoy every moment created amongst the Tuscan stars.

13/07/2025: AMAZING EXPERIENCE Antonio Iacoviello was Head Chef at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura for four years, a restaurant that earned a Michelin star just a few months after opening. He's now embarked on a new gastronomic adventure at Ristorante Il Pievano, located inside Spaltenna Castle, where we dined last night. We chose the chef's freehand tasting menu, where his extensive experience and expertise shine through, offering dishes with an incredible balance of flavors. Compliments to the dining room staff for their expertise and passion. A MUST TRY

27/11/2024: Cibo di buona qualità, prodotti particolari, servizio veloce e gradevole. Ci tornerei se fossi in zona….. l’unico neo sono le porzioni un po’ piccole

02/10/2024: Una bella esperienza grazie al cibo molto buono e la cortesia del personale. Abbiamo cenato in questo locale scegliendo due carpacci di polenta uno col ragù di cinghiale e uno col pecorino fuso. Ottimi. Un ottimo calice di Brunello e non potevamo chiedere di più davvero!

27/07/2025: The hotel is deserted, but the thermal baths by the river are wonderful. The water rises from the earth at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. There are various opportunities on both sides of the river to rub yourself with healing mud and relax in warm pools. A beautiful place.
