Even the appetizers, such as the meat carpaccio and mixed fried foods, are highly recommended. I will definitely be back in the next few days to try a pizza! 03/09/2024: Maybe we ended up on a bad evening... we had booked for 5 people... we arrived there (we were at a table isolated from the room in front of a large shutter) we tried to order and we no longer had any mineral water... the appetizer wasn't there what we wanted (written on the menu) pasta with scorpion fish wasn't there... We didn't want to settle and we left... among other things we took a still water and didn't want anything

02/08/2024: For more than three years in a row now, I have been spending my summer holidays at the Hotel Universo, located in the beautiful area of ​​the Alimini Lakes, rich in pine forests and Mediterranean scrub. In this place I found the ideal combination of the beauty of the sea, excellent cuisine and comfortable living. The sea: it is really just a few steps from the rooms (30 meters or 50 meters depending on the accommodation) and is extraordinarily clear. Furthermore, with a short walk along the shoreline (about 500 metres) you can easily reach Baia dei Turchi, one of the most beautiful beaches in Salento. The cuisine: the skill of the chefs is combined with the quality of the raw materials, allowing us to savor truly good dishes, simple but (perhaps for this very reason) full of flavour. Worth trying are the spaghetti from the Adriatic, the Universo risotto, the spaghetti with crab and the second courses where fish reigns supreme. The hotel restaurant is also open to external customers; for those (like me) who benefit from half board, the choice between three first courses and three second courses is available, but variations are also offered every day. With a very small difference in price you can still order any other dishes on the menu. The living room: the rooms are simple but well looked after and clean, equipped with everything you need. The best (as the name suggests) are the Comfort ones but the others also allow for an excellent stay. Internal parking for the car is available; the beautiful Otranto is just a few minutes away, as is Torre dell'Orso. To top it all off, there is the kindness and availability of Luca, the owner, and all the staff. Ultimately a place to recommend to those who love simple but quality things.

Accompanied with a delicious rosé... Then followed by a mixed fried fish. .. Tender, crunchy and tasty... finally a black truffle drowned in Cape bitters.... and to close it all a coffee offered by the owner.... the air-conditioned place is welcoming as is the owner and the employees.... I'm sure I will return... Compliments to the chef and a thank you and goodbye to the owner...👏🏻😋👍🏼

12/08/2024: Ci hanno portato a cena degli amici di Lecce che conoscevano questo ristorante: uno di loro ha preso la pizza, che era veramente grande! Noi abbiamo preso tutto a base di pesce: l’antipasto con il crudo di mare e l’insalata con il polpo alla piastra molto buoni, e abbondanti. Ottima anche la grigliata di pesce. Il posto bellissimo, peccato che i tavoli fuori fossero già tutti occupati.

06/08/2024: Location suggestiva ma cucina decisamente scialba e a prezzi elevati. Un’assurdità poi nel panorama di ristoranti locali dover pagare un supplemento del 14% del conto totale, in aggiunta ai coperti, per poter cenare ad agosto all’esterno e con vista mare. Si trova decisamente meglio
