28/06/2025: Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience here. The person who appeared to be the owner was unexpectedly very rude. We ordered takeaway, but the food was handed to us on an open plate, with the assumption that we’d eat it outside on the street. Since all the outdoor chairs were almost empty, food in open plates and no one else was waiting, we sat down briefly—just for about five minutes—to enjoy our pastry. However, the owner approached us quite abruptly, insisting that we leave the seating area because we had ordered takeaway. The attitude and handling of the situation felt unnecessarily harsh, especially given that we weren’t occupying space for long or preventing other customers from being seated.

26/06/2025: We asked for a scoop of ice cream and were served a cup of three scoops. When we pointed out that it wasn't good, we were told it was too late and we had to pay. Avoid.

09/06/2025: As a passerby, I was insulted for no reason by a service employee. I would stay away from such disgusting people; the food and service speak for themselves!

09/06/2025: Keep walking! Anything near to a tourist attraction, especially as big a draw card as Trevi is going to be questionable. This one is no exception. The food isn't bad, but you're just a number.

11/05/2025: Very nice location, decent food, absurd prices... Sandwich with porchetta if taken away €5 eaten on the spot €9 plus cover obviously, a husband €6, taken a slice of pizza and coffee..... spent €53. Now I understand that we are in Rome, this does not justify wanting to cheat anyone who gets caught in that net. The prices are not clear, the explanations of the addition of costs not understandable. Simply don't stop at this place if you don't want to be fleeced

30/04/2025: The only saving grace for this restaurant was the Gelato. Its 3€ for 2 scoops in a small cone. We enjoyed the Gelato so much, we came back on another day on our trip to Rome. The 2nd time we came, we also bought food... we ordered salmon, spaghetti, meatballs, and pizza. Salmon came with squid - but both were really bland. Spaghetti was very salty. Meatballs were okay.. and the pizza was hard and rubbery. If you come here - Gelato was delicious and a great price! Otherwise, I'd skip it.

28/03/2025: Gustativement parlant aucun intérêt. Les pâtes carbo sont gluantes, les lasagnes n’ont pas un goût différent des lasagnes surgelés (ce sont d’ailleurs sûrement des lasagnes surgelés). Repas n’est clairement pas bon. Désormais service rapide et les serveurs agréables. Le restaurant peut dépanner si vous vous baladez dans la villa, mais ce n’est pas ici que vous pouvez faire des bonnes expériences culinaires

24/03/2025: È davvero vergognoso spendere 7 euro per due caffè che erano una ciofeca. La ragazza che ci ha servito molto carina. Il posto non è male perché ti trovi all'interno del parco ma per il tutto il resto è da evitare.

If I had the opportunity to speak with the director, I would warmly invite him to keep them close. In the world of work it is not easy to find such polite, professional and smiling people. 05/07/2025: Reading reviews and seeing photos from previous guests. I'm not sure if it's the same place. I uploaded photos of the menu. The only negative was the charge, the table & cover total 2.55 euros per person.

27/05/2025: I really don't recommend it, you have to wait a long time for your food, dirty plates and glasses, you have to pay attention to what they bring out, I didn't dare eat the food. They didn't ask me why I didn't touch the food, they just smiled and said goodbye....

I perceived a certain air of detachment, almost boredom, in the staff, which was a bit out of place with the lively atmosphere of the square. As for the food, I found room for improvement. The bread that was served to me had a somewhat tough consistency and the meat did not give me the impression of being very fresh. Considering the prices, which I found slightly higher than expected, I would have hoped for greater attention to the quality of the ingredients. One aspect that left me perplexed was the discrepancy between the prices displayed outside and those presented on the menu once seated. This difference, in my opinion, should be clarified to avoid misunderstandings. Despite these observations, I reiterate that the view offered by the location is priceless and certainly represents a strong point of the venue. I believe that, with some adjustments in the service and greater care in the selection of raw materials, this place could really express its full potential."

24/03/2025: Locale ottimo per essere RAPINATI. Non ha senso. Seduti ai tavolini esterni vista strada e macchine per bere una birra in bottiglia ed una Fanta spesa di €16. Fosse un locale ricercato o con una vista unica lo capirei ma questo locale sinceramente non ha il minimo senso di esistere. Vi prego non vi fermate!

02/07/2025: I recently decided to pay a visit to "Montanari Caffetteria" based on reviews I had read online. Unfortunately, I have to admit that my experience did not meet my expectations. First of all, I noticed that the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The environment conveyed a sense of neglect, with unkempt tables and a floor that showed obvious signs of aging. In a place like a coffee shop, hygiene is of fundamental importance, so this situation immediately made me uncomfortable. Moving on to the heart of the experience in a coffee shop, namely the coffee, I have to say that I was even more disappointed. I expected to enjoy a strong, aromatic and flavorful coffee, but unfortunately I was served something that can only be described as an extremely diluted version of coffee, more similar to "dirty water" than the traditional Italian drink. In addition to the disappointing quality, I found the price decidedly excessive. I understand that in some places you may pay more for the ambiance or the superior products, but in this case I felt that the price was not justified by either. In conclusion, unfortunately I cannot recommend "Montanari Caffetteria". For those looking for a quality coffee experience I would recommend exploring other options in the area, which offer not only a clean and welcoming environment, but also a coffee that meets Italian expectations in terms of taste and quality, while maintaining a fair quality-price ratio.

20/07/2025: Don’t be fooled by a friendly waiter or should I say a smiling assassin! He kept adding suggestions to our choices as if they were free. I know in the cold light of day quite obvious, but in the moment we were fooled. €280 for 3 of us. Please don’t go to this restaurant when there are so many amazing places to eat in Rome.

18/07/2025: Total scam!.Waiter offered a sample platter of appetizers with our drinks. Instead he added two of most of the appetizers racking up almost 150 euro without our knowledge. Beyond that the prices are high. Sky high. What a way to end our trip. STAY AWAY!!!

25/07/2025: It was right next to the hotel so I just went in while passing by;;;; I should have read the reviews... First of all, the pizza was so bad that I left half of it, and a coke was 9 euros for a glass, and a service charge? 17%, and when they gave me the receipt, they emphasized three times that the tip wasn't included so I wondered what was going on, but was they lying to get more money? Ugh, I paid 90 euros for that^^

25/07/2025: SCAM!! SCAM!!! SPANISH AND ENGLISH They pretend they don't understand what you want and charge you anything. They make you wait at a table to charge you for the service. A coffee and a bill is 30 EUROS. They change the menus, they change the prices. They take advantage of you being a tourist and OVERCHARGE you. A coffee and something chilled to eat is 30 EUROS. They change the prices. Watch out.
