10/12/2024: With some friends we had the pleasure of tasting the chizze, in the different proposals, and the vertical tortello. A sublime experience for the palate! Excellent service as well as the cuisine with quality products. We'll be back!

28/07/2024: The restaurant is located in the first Apennines of Reggio Emilia, it is located on the ground floor of a beautiful house probably inhabited by the same managers upstairs. In fact, you enter by opening the handle of the original wooden entrance door. The internal environment is pleasant and well-kept and we are immediately welcomed by the manager who confirms the feeling of being in a place with a family atmosphere. The only note, which justifies the lack of the fifth star, is given by the fact that the space between the tables is really small. We ate appetizers of fried polenta, truffle and pancetta (both excellent), followed by tagliatelle with truffle and gnocchi with porcini mushrooms. The fresh pasta is homemade and tastes like excellent quality mushrooms and truffles. Is it the portions? Definitely robust, capable of satisfying even the hungriest. In summary: we found it by chance but we ate really well and spent the right amount.

26/11/2024: In short, I went twice and both times it was very full, I don't think I would go back of my own free will, very wide but thin pizza a few mm and very biscuity, I didn't like it at all and it didn't even fill me up in the slightest, the second time I took a pasta, with crabmeat, and a cold hot seafood starter, not that I was expecting amazing seafood, but both dishes were just barely decent. The service was rather precise but some workers were rather rude for small things, the place is rather normal for a provincial restaurant, you may like it but it reminds me of 100 other anonymous places. Prices are quite high if you consider the quality of what you eat, I have spent lower amounts in higher class places where I ate much better. Sorry, but in the end it doesn't matter since it's always full

17/11/2024: Una delusione stando alle recensioni….del territorio non abbiamo trovato nulla, Lambrusco a parte. Peccato perché ci siamo cascati ! E poi che dire…. I prezzi praticati non sono quelli che appaiono pubblicizzati! Succede sempre più spesso. Rapporto qualità prezzo non ci siamo…. 10,00 euro buffet con pizzette fredde….

09/11/2024: This osteria was full with families having a typical emilian night out. Delicious lambrusco with home made tortelli followed by best meat ever. If you manage have a plate of antipasti from the extensive buffet. Do book it is always full

08/08/2024: The GattoNero was recommend to us by our airBnB host and we visited the restaurant twice. The restaurant is a hidden germ. What we found- excellent service, delish meal, orga_s_mic good deserts... and I got cappuccino at 10pm.. yes.. I'm still very alive 😆 Thank you for your hospitality 🥂

24/11/2024: Locale accogliente e stile ricercato. Siamo stati per pranzo e appena seduti ci hanno servito moratdella, ciccioli e del pane squisiti. Abbiamo scelto il tagliere misto di salumi di ottima qualità con tigelle e gnocco fritto. Buoni entrambi ma come gusto personale abbiamo preferito le tigelle. Polenta fritta con pancetta e gorgonzola buona e abbondante. La qualità l'abbiamo trovata anche nei primi: tagliatelle al ragù squisite, un ragù delicato ma saporitissimo...difficile mangiarlo così buono al ristorante. Cappelletti ottimi e una sorpresa i cappelletti con pasta verde di spinaci....delicati ma un'esplosione di sapore. Li ho trovati originali...un piatto nuovo! Il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo vino rosso. Buonissimi anche i dolci e ottimo anche il caffè. Lo staff composto da ragazzi giovani molto gentili e attenti. Un apprezzamento particolare a Roberto che ci ha consigliato al meglio. Torneremo sicuramente!

20/11/2024: I went with a couple of friends, welcoming environment and very kind and attentive staff. Eaten, dishes with truffles and recommended specialties. Excellent food and flavours, Mr. Natale (the owner) completes the flavors of the excellent dishes, with culinary explanations and historical references. What can I say: I felt pampered and made a great impression on my friends. Obviously the cost is proportionate to what you order and the wines. Highly recommended.

03/09/2024: I have a particular fondness for this restaurant. I particularly like the summer expanse under the colonnade, their excellent meat and the kind, friendly and helpful staff. Last Saturday we found ourselves at 9am, without having booked anywhere, having to eat with 4 of us, plus two friends. They welcomed us with extreme courtesy, including the dog. In a few minutes they set the table for us on the porch and took our orders. My friends and my husband took advantage of the fact that there were fresh porcini mushrooms on the menu and took the potato tortelli with porcini mushrooms, which they really appreciated. I preferred the pumpkin tortelli, which were not particularly tasty (perhaps due to the pumpkin) but were accompanied by the best sautéed meat I have eaten in years, so much so that we all took the opportunity to make ourselves a delicious slipper. My husband and my friends, second course, had gnocco and tigelle with cured meats and spreads, while I ordered their wonderful Fassona tartare. A delight. Knife-cut meat, lightly seasoned, accompanied by two types of mustard and balsamic vinegar. For me the best I have tasted in Reggio Emilia restaurants. Finally, someone took some excellent homemade desserts (respectable portions) and we were offered the house digestives. More than satisfied, as always.
