This is how it should be. Good food, nice presentation, big selection of wines and after desert a nice grappa. Service was very friendly and happy to help make the best choices. The venue was nice, with a great view.

I had dinner with friends at this trattoria and we had a great time. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. The dishes were excellent, prepared with quality ingredients: the charcuterie and cheese platter was truly delicious. The first courses, second courses, and desserts were also very satisfying. The prices were a little above average, but justified by the quality. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We stayed nearby and this was the closest restaurant our hotel recommended. So glad we stopped by. A beautiful view and vibe the restaurant has, the service was great and menu was seasonal. You wouldn't expect this restaurant to be so great from the outside but it has a great decor and vibe inside.

I went for my nephew's 18th birthday. It was a pleasant surprise. Everything was excellent. Welcoming and quaint, with typical Emilian cuisine, everything homemade and very fresh. Very competent staff, young and friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended. Compliments to Daniela, the owner.

A well-established local establishment with many twists. A wide selection of wines, guided and never intrusive. It's a great place to be and the food is good. Need more? Oh...good music.

Fantastic place, with delightful music that perfectly complemented the ambiance and the evening. Perfect food (exquisite cauliflower cutlet). Attentive staff. Daniela, the owner, is attentive, knowledgeable, and offers perfectly recommended wines. She's an excellent photographer and selects quality products.

I must admit, I don't write many reviews, but this time I really felt compelled to. We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, but with each course we were more and more amazed. The staff is friendly and professional, the dishes are carefully prepared and bursting with flavor. A special mention goes to the shortcrust pastry tart with gorgonzola and pears: a surprising and very balanced dessert. The wine list is extensive and features labels from various regions. Kudos to the owner, who conveys all the passion she puts into her restaurant. Bravo!

Trattoria La Ca' Basa

22/06/2026: You wouldn't expect a trattoria this good to be attached to a tobacco shop. Unpretentious local spot with good food for a fair price. If you like mushrooms you'll love it. Apparently they pick the mushrooms in the woods behind the restaurant. Also, best gnocco Frito we had in all of reggio Emilia. They use a kind of whole grain flour, they taste amazing on their own (but even better with prosciutto). The black tortelli were a knockout as well. Monica was a lovely host, we had great conversations with her even though we don't speak Italian :) While the staff doesn't speak english, we were lucky enough to have translators on hand both evenings, thank you Luca and Willy! Prices were more than fair.
25/05/2026: A traditional trattoria with high-quality à la carte dishes. A trio of tortelli are truly amazing.

08/06/2026: I celebrated my specialization in support this evening. I chose a set menu. Super generous portions, tasty, and high-quality food. The owner even gave me a carafe of sparkling wine and set up a prop for photos with the cake. I felt at home, and I'll definitely be back and I'll be a great promoter. Thank you so much ❤️
08/06/2026: Certainly not the most exciting dinner of my life. The gluten-free options were good, as were the fried foods. The risotto wasn't creamy, its flavors lacked consistency and were stuck to the plate. The spaghetti alla Nerano was average in taste, but the zucchini weren't even fried because they were so soft. The service, however, was attentive and helpful. A small issue with one dish was handled professionally and transparently. I really appreciated that the offending dish was left aside, but always at the table, and only taken away when the replacement arrived.
