16/04/2026: I chose this place for my birthday based on the positive reviews, but... I think something has changed. The owner was UNSPECIFIABLE, constantly yelling at the waitress, humiliating her, while he kept telling us to speak softly, whispering, "punishing us." Furthermore, an hour wait between courses seemed excessive, so much so that by the end it was 4 PM and we weren't hungry anymore. Speaking of the menu, they didn't serve me gluten-free bread, but packaged crackers, while the "famous fresh pasta" was INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS and dried pasta. Finally, it was almost impossible to communicate with them on the phone and try to create a menu, as they kept repeating that we would make decisions on the spot, somewhat haphazardly, giving no assurances. At least 1 star goes to the location, which is beautiful and an oasis of peace... a peace unfortunately ruined by its unkind owner. Finally, I want to reiterate to the waitress, if she reads this: you were wonderful and special to us. HOLD ON, GIRL!!!🫶🏻 UPDATES: About a month after my review, the restaurant posted an Instagram story mentioning/tagging me in connection with my review. 08/05/2026: Horrible experience. Never again. The beds are rock hard and impossible to get a good night's sleep on. The pillows are also terrible and very uncomfortable. The air conditioning doesn't work properly, and at night it's practically impossible to sleep because of the heat. We were expecting to rest, but it was the complete opposite. Very disappointed with the experience. I wouldn't recommend it.

26/06/2026: Terrible experience: it's not a passion fruit! I ordered four passion fruit whites, but there was no trace of passion fruit. The cocktail was the color of a squeezed lemon and was definitely too acidic. Passion fruit is typically sweet and has a beautiful, bright orange color. Serving a drink like that is unacceptable. I won't be returning.

08/09/2025: Beautiful place Unfortunately, the room wasn't clean; in fact, the shower gel provided was used and open, and there were no towels. The ground-floor room has no curtains; you have to keep them closed because they can see inside. The first-floor room has an external bathroom, and it's not specified on Booking. I don't think I'll return.

01/09/2025: We booked here because it has very good reviews. However, the food fell short of our expectations. We ordered a €20 main course, but it was absolutely not up to par: it was porchetta with potatoes and caramelized apples. A tray of food arrived with very little food, and instead of apples, it was fried polenta. NO ONE told us that the apple had been substituted with something else (not knowing if anyone was allergic to anything, they took the risk anyway, which was a serious matter). Finally, the dessert cost €7, as if it were Sal De Riso's. We ordered them thinking they would be good, given the price. But it was absolutely not worth it. Honestly, for a total of €70, I feel a bit scammed. Furthermore, there was a group of people who arrived late because there was a cycling race, and the owner (?) came out to get them since they had arrived late and needed to find out. Which is absurd, considering they were supposed to be the ones to notify the customers (who probably aren't from the area). Terrible attitude, and we went there to try the dishes and see if it was possible to have our wedding there, but then we realized the situation. And later, through the comments, I also found out that they ruined someone else's wedding, so honestly, never again.

24/06/2026: I've been going to papparè for about a year now, almost every morning. I know the guys and girls who work there, and they're incredibly kind and helpful. They always welcome you with a smile and a chat, even when the place is packed, which can't be easy for them. The bar is one of the few in Reggio that offers good and varied vegan options, and occasionally even a delicious fresh cake. The atmosphere is unbeatable, suitable for all ages, but especially super welcoming for us students, with the option of staying in the cool, cool room to study, and free Wi-Fi. Honestly, it'll be one of the places I'll miss the most when I leave this city. 🤝❤️

30/04/2026: My regular stop at Petali! Whether for lunch/dinner or aperitif, I know I'm guaranteed a great experience. The food is good and the portions are generous; the quesadillas never disappoint. The staff are always courteous and helpful, even when the place is busy. 5 well-deserved stars, see you next time!

07/03/2026: Let's start with the positives: the pastries are good and the staff is very friendly. The price is exorbitant: a barley cappuccino cost €4.30; in Venice, in Piazza San Marco, it costs the same, but here we are on the outskirts of Reggio. There is no bathroom. Inside, there is no seating; standing room only. The quality is good, but absolutely in line with that of other, much cheaper, pastry shops in Reggio.

14/01/2026: We go there following the opening hours that it says it will be open, but it turns out to be closed, not very serious on my part anymore!

16/11/2025: It's not for food tourism, but not for starving people, as some have mentioned. It's a place where working people go, eat civilly, pay what they've eaten, and go back to work or continue their journey.

08/03/2026: I've been a customer at this pizzeria for over 10 years. Every time I order a calzone with just sausage and mozzarella, it always comes out wrong. This time, too, it only came with tomato sauce, no mozzarella. When I called to inform them of the mistake, the woman told me I'd ordered the wrong one because she'd written tomato sauce on the order, even though I'd asked for mozzarella and sausage in the initial call, and she'd confirmed the order, asking if I wanted just mozzarella and sausage. They resolved the issue with a "sorry, we obviously didn't understand each other," and they neither offered to remake it nor refund me.

14/01/2026: Enter this pastry shop and you'll find a world of sweet and savory treats!! The waiters are super kind and helpful. I tried the cappuccino and it was delicious, and the croissants are also super good!! The outdoor and indoor location is top-notch! We'll be back again for a breakfast filled with laughter and conversation.

04/12/2025: They were so sweet, even though we were the only ones there near closing time, they opened our prosecco and offered a nice price. The desserts were delicious.

10/05/2026: The bar is always nice. The pastries are still made by patisserie staff. The level of friendliness is still excellent, even from the Asian and Italian staff. The only downside is that they don't offer a glass of water with your cappuccino, something that's now common in many bars in the city, but they'll give it to you if you ask.

09/06/2026: Perfect food. No comments. Perfectly cooked, excellent portions and sizes. Very generous service: they even offered us a Nutella pizza, which was also delicious. Clean atmosphere, shame it's not very big. Decent air conditioning, outdoor seating available. Suitable for lunches and dinners for both small and large groups.
