21/10/2025: Trattoria da Gian, Via Piana 31, Cerreto Alpi: Just before reaching the Baron's Bridge and tackling the final hairpin bends before the Cerreto Pass, discover the ancient stone village of Cerreto Alpi. Above, you'll find the old town perched around the church; below, practically on the banks of the Secchia River, the old mill, a charming three-arched stone building. The whole thing makes this place magical. Walking up to the church, you'll find this simple trattoria, da Gian, in a small square. Mountain-style in appearance, in heart, in flavors, and in the simplicity of the few dishes on the menu. A favorite of Lindo Ferretti (formerly a member of the CCCP), the tortelli or tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms are always available, guaranteed to come from the surrounding woods. Simple and authentic ingredients, the scent of beech wood, authentic polenta, fragrant ragù, wild boar stew, and simple homemade desserts. Peace and good food. 20/10/2025: Cerreto Alpi's only restaurant takes advantage of the village's beauty, its natural setting, and its location, a hub for dozens of hiking groups. The place is very charming, and the staff are extremely helpful. Downsides are the bathroom doors that don't lock, and the fact that there's no POS terminal (though if you book in advance, you'll be informed). Traditional cuisine with a good selection of dishes, though they're cooked to a standard standard. The price, however, is inadequate for the cuisine. Prices should be clearly indicated on the menu.

12/01/2026: 25 years of touring, never happened before! We had a dinner and night reservation confirmed days ago, but we arrived at 9:30 PM and everything was closed. We called and there was no answer. We called again and she told us that her dad was sick and she was leaving. Could you have let us know during the trip? With all due respect for the human aspect of the situation, we absolutely didn't find the same level of respect. She didn't even apologize, and as soon as we pointed out that she should have let us know, she got angry and hung up the phone. We were in January at -2°C, not knowing where to go. Congratulations, wishing the dad all the best, and I advise the owner to change jobs; her hands were stolen from agriculture.

11/12/2025: This is my second time staying at this property for work, and it's proven to be an excellent choice for the area! The highlight is the restaurant, where, without having to travel far, you can enjoy delicious dishes, from appetizers to desserts, and excellent wines. The pleasant and friendly staff rounds it all off. I highly recommend it.

14/01/2026: Enter this pastry shop and you'll find a world of sweet and savory treats!! The waiters are super kind and helpful. I tried the cappuccino and it was delicious, and the croissants are also super good!! The outdoor and indoor location is top-notch! We'll be back again for a breakfast filled with laughter and conversation.

04/12/2025: They were so sweet, even though we were the only ones there near closing time, they opened our prosecco and offered a nice price. The desserts were delicious.

21/01/2026: We went to Elvi, the owner and a longtime friend of my mother, for Christmas lunch in 2025. We had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The place is a bar with a trattoria corner, not very large, but with very modern and colorful furnishings. Typical Reggio Emilia food, all homemade and of high quality, with generous portions. You won't leave hungry. I recommend it. Giorgia

19/04/2026: Barabba che vien dal mar is a restaurant/pizzeria/bar with a hotel next door on Roncolo Road. A casual eatery with two spacious dining rooms, thin, crispy pizza, and a simple menu featuring fish, meat, pasta, and dessert options. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.

14/12/2025: The cake is good, but for the second year the colors for the decoration are wrong, I want to pretend that the red with the cream can lighten and look like a pink, but a purple passed off as blue is no good either.

23/11/2025: When I'm passing through Castellarano, I always stop at this ice cream shop. It's truly excellent. The portions are larger than other ice cream shops, and there's a wide selection of flavors.

30/09/2025: Truly an excellent experience! High-quality all-you-can-eat sushi, with the unique feature of a hotplate in the center of the table for cooking raw meat and fish on the spot: a fun and tasty idea. You can also order hot pot, a rich and flavorful soup, served upon request. All the dishes were fresh, beautifully presented, and plentiful. Service was prompt, and the staff were friendly and always available. A well-kept and welcoming place, definitely a place to return to and one I highly recommend!

03/06/2025: We were away in 2024, I promised Erik to leave this well-deserved review. In the room you can breathe mountain air, the chef, put to the test, amazed us. The bottles in the evening were excellent, we can say we had more than a good time.

04/09/2025: I called and ordered the six or four pizzas. They arrived at 8:15, and were delivered twenty-five minutes later. Without even an apology, and they were as scrounging as a focaccia. Embarrassing

23/01/2026: Amazing bakery with a bar for breakfast and snacks. They have everything excellent.
