05/10/2025: We dined at Al Panigaccio in Compiano on Saturday, October 4th, after the last visit to the Castle. The small restaurant opens at 7:30 PM, but after a quick tour of the village, we were welcomed into the warm atmosphere half an hour before the official opening (given the terrible weather outside!): time for an aperitif, a chat, and watching the testi (the earthenware pots in which the panigacci are cooked in front of you) being heated. A great experience that we recommend, also for the kindness of the owners! You can try panigacci made with local products, as well as pasta dishes and grilled meats. All accompanied by excellent wine, in a truly charming location. Open for lunch and dinner, and in good weather, you can eat outside for lunch. Parking is not available under the castle, but it is about a 5-minute walk away, outside the village.

28/08/2025: We only had dinner and didn't stay overnight. The kitchen is open to the public. We ordered and enjoyed vegetable soup, herb tortelli, and finally panigacci with cheese. The atmosphere is informal and pleasant. Good value for money.

16/09/2025: Very helpful waitresses. They stay open during the siesta and they were nice enough to split the bill for our party of eight.

13/09/2025: We went for the morning tea and got a wonderful lemon & ginger herb mix. Friendly staff.

25/10/2025: The price was above average for a trattoria, there was no menu at the table, we waited almost 2 hours for the first courses.

20/09/2025: Trattoria in the historic center. Good, simple, and absolutely delicious food. The herb tortelli were excellent, carefully prepared and had a creamy filling. The Duchessa (chicken roulade) was a pleasant surprise. Recommended!

02/09/2025: The 80s-style atmosphere is beautifully kept, like walking into a nightclub. We had good pizzas; the dough and toppings were all good, except for the cooked ham, which was a bit salty. The owner, who was very kind and attentive, served us, and the prices were below average.

12/10/2025: We found this place with Trip Advisor because we wanted to grab a bite outside of Parma. From the outside, I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but once inside, the place was welcoming, like one of those old-fashioned trattorias you stop at for lunch. We ordered a pizza bianca (the dough was extraordinary), Borettane onions with balsamic vinegar (excellent), and since we weren't sure which of the three ravioli dishes they offered were a starter, we asked, off-menu, if they'd make us a trio of ravioli so we could try them all. Well, they were very kind, and they obliged, and the selection turned out to be amazing! We even suggested the owner put that option on the menu because it was truly worth it! Great prices, we'll definitely be back.

06/09/2025: One star because it can't be given less, the service is embarrassing as it has only one waiter who, poor thing, had to manage so many tables, the appetizers arrived after a good half hour, where there were old and discount cheeses, and the cured meats even worse, when the first courses arrived in difficulty another half hour passes where only one dish comes out with all the cooking water in the plate, a missing dish and they even pretend to offer a coffee, which I think is exaggerated given both the quality and the quantity, we had to spend an evening trying to find something else to eat. But the worst thing is the chef who with only one glove, still does everything, from cleaning, slicing and touching everything. Disgusting

06/09/2025: A pleasant experience. Excellent food quality, very kind and helpful staff, and a very welcoming and refined atmosphere. Daniela introduced us to the sage and rosemary sorbet, which was excellent. We highly recommend it; we'll definitely be back.

12/10/2025: The food itself was quite good, but unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by the staff. They were arrogant, unfriendly. We ordered a tiramisu that was clearly expired and tasted sour. The waiter didn’t even say sorry, he simply said that he made a mistake. After we complained, they didn’t charge us for the diner, which we appreciated. Their attitude was condescending and far from customer-friendly. We definitely won’t be coming back, as good food alone can’t make up for such poor service.

13/09/2025: The selection of well-prepared and refined dishes is excellent. The cured meat is exceptionally high-quality. The other dishes are also top-notch. The staff is very knowledgeable and recommends the right wines to accompany their dishes; the wine list is excellent. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes. Also worth a visit if you're exploring Parma's small towns.

09/10/2025: I haven't eaten here for a long time, I have to say that some time ago they were much more similar to the pieces from Sicilian trattoria but today they are truly horrible, Neapolitan sandwiches all raw inside and hard and dry onions, they must have changed the rotisserie because the tavola calda is cooked at too high a temperature and not very leavened, the result is raw inside and dry and hard as a stone on the outside.
