The place is very nice, the food is good (thank you, Lucia, for existing and cooking).
During the village festivals, the menu is excellent; you should try everything.
The aperitifs are good and inexpensive.

04/10/2025: Every time I come to the Sesia Valley, as long as it's allowed and standing, I love driving over the ancient Morca Bridge, a very narrow wooden bridge suspended by steel cables that flexes under the weight of the car.
It's beautiful and the only one anyone can drive over, as the other similar ones that remain standing are either privately owned or closed due to unsafe conditions.
Highly recommended if you're in the area and aren't worried about it collapsing.
20/08/2025: Truly a wonderful discovery. I hope the tranquility and respect for the environment remain. Great for a swim in the river.

19/10/2025: I didn't like the food very much and the bathroom is really ugly, the tap is from the 1900s and there is no toilet paper. I don't recommend it because I saw absurd things and even at the cinema, swearing and spitting on the plate.
15/10/2025: Pizza pieces are plentiful, but very good, with all sorts and excellent prices. You can also eat on site at outdoor tables, by reservation.

14/10/2025: We had a great time on Sunday, October 12th, celebrating our birthday. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by this establishment, perfect for lunches and dinners with friends. The cured meats with pinzini and piadina were delicious, as was the Ferrarese tradition of caplaz, grilled meat left over from when we were full. I hope to return soon, guys.

Right, the cured meats, pinzino, and piada were tasty and good.
The fact remains that cappellacci, if they only taste of nutmeg and don't taste of pumpkin, are terrible cappellacci.
As for the tagliata, I'm not criticizing the well-done ones to satisfy all tastes, but I reiterate that the meat, depending on the degree of doneness, needs to be cooked properly, and the one served "rare" was without the maillard and therefore as if it were boiled.
The fact remains that €40 (I had omitted the price out of habit) for what we ate and its relative quality, in my opinion, is too much.
We went to this place for a friends' party.
I have a lot of experience, but I think I've rarely eaten such a bad meal, in my opinion.
We started with a savory aperitif, which was actually well-packaged and delicious.
Then at least two hours passed before the first course, consisting of cappellacci with ragout and butter and sage: the cappellacci were truly awful, so much so that you couldn't taste the pumpkin, completely covered in the nutmeg flavor (perhaps not a coincidence), the ragout was completely tasteless, and the ones with butter and sage... well, those weren't even seen or tasted because they were declared sold out.
Then the meat arrived: regular grilled coppa and beef tagliata, which actually tasted good, but either completely overcooked or undercooked but lacking the "Maillard" flavor, so boiled.
The vegetables? They served so-called spinach that had nothing to do with spinach: tough, practically just stems and tasteless.
The "house" red wine was horrible, truly undrinkable, so much so that it was left at all the tables; we swapped it for a bottle of ripasso (this time it was good).
And all this for a truly excessive price!
Personally, never again.

12/11/2025: We'd been away for a while, but on Sunday, November 9, 2025, my wife Monica, our two big dogs, and I returned. The guys, as always so kind, welcomed us and sat us down in the bar area in front of the stove. It was 6°C outside, and it was very comfortable inside. We ate two polentas (one with Taleggio and mushrooms, and one with Taleggio and wild boar) that were out of this world, drank water and a delicious still white wine from a carafe, and finished with a blueberry dessert. The guys then offered us a truly delicious mountain pine liqueur. Beyond the good food, the atmosphere at Cavone is just what I like, and I always enjoy going there. We really should go back more often.

24/10/2025: Rustic but anonymous place, the food didn't match the quality/price ratio at all. We ordered two steaks that we wanted rare (€25, they weren't even 200g each), but they arrived cold and overcooked, tough and not at all easy to chew. We didn't send them back because we were three friends who, caught up in conversation, ate without much thought. The other had the cappelletti in brodo, which were good, but the broth was lukewarm and didn't give us a chance to fully enjoy them. The service was good, with good explanations and the ability to list the dishes from memory (perhaps I would have appreciated the dessert menu being brought to me, where I could have chosen differently). I'm sorry to have to write such a review because it seemed like a local giant that absolutely had to be tried; I was greatly disappointed.

06/12/2025: I went for lunch for the first time and it was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed all the dishes, and it's on par with other more expensive restaurants. It's an unpretentious place, but the sushi is fresh and the tempura is excellent. The staff is very kind and attentive, which makes all the difference! I'll definitely be back, highly recommended!

I was truly impressed. The fish is incredibly fresh, the portions generous, and the presentation impeccable. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling, and the atmosphere is refined and welcoming.
I tried several uramaki and sashimi: everything was top-notch, you could taste the quality. Even the tempura was incredibly light and crispy, a rarity.
Excellent value for money. I'll definitely be back; it's become my go-to sushi spot in the area. Highly recommended!

07/12/2025: After ordering a platter for four, I choose a rosemary tagliata. "Medium," I reply. What arrives is supposed to be a tagliata, but it isn't: completely cooked incorrectly: well done. Due to the poor quality of the ingredients, it's inedible. I eat half of it. But the funniest part is the dessert. I choose a crème brulee. It's well known that crème brulee forms a crust after a couple of minutes (maybe even less) of grilling. What do they do instead? They take the bowl of crème brulee from the fridge, bring it to the table, and light it right before my eyes with a lighter...as if it were flambéed!
