24/09/2025: Response to the owner's response to my original review: You can blame my bad review on being an American and how Americans are terrible tourists and I agree with you. I can't speak Italian and I will never understand or fully experience what Italian food means to an Italian born person. I agree with you. I still love your country, your culture and your food. And I do respect it greatly. At the end of the day, I ate the same dish across the street at Vicolo Colombina and it was absolutely amazing. So is it me, or is it your food? You can tell me to respect your craft, but at the end of the day you served me and my wife cold, tasteless food that wasn't prepared fresh. Did you think I wouldn't notice? I do respect the craft of working in the restaurant industry. Your waiters deserve praise, they were delightful, funny and kind. I could have told them how we couldn't finish the meal and left unsatisfied, but based on how you are responding to me here, I think you would have been even more rude and dismissive to your own employees. Original Review: I used to have this theory that there were no bad Italian restaurants in Italy. I was wrong. No restaurant this close to Quadrilatero should be this bad. To be fair, we didn’t have a reservation, we were tired from travel and we took a shot. We were let down. No restaurant in Bologna should be serving cold, bland Tagliatelle al Ragù. For the benefit of the doubt we fell for an absolute tourist trap, Olive-Garden-esque offering of a “trio” of Bologna classics: Tagliatelle, Tortelloni and Lasagna. That’s on us. Our shame. But damn, we were tired and we hoped for a good meal. This food tasted like it was sloped on our plate from a buffet line at a cafeteria. We couldn’t finish our food, paid and just left. No, we didn't say anything because we were embarassed. I feel bad about that. I’ve been debating leaving a bad review, because I hate leaving bad reviews. The service was really excellent. 10/10. They don’t deserve this review and I’m sorry. But the food was so bad, I thought I misread the instructions on my microwave entree. In 10 years of traveling to Italy and enjoying life-changing meals, this was the worst.

08/09/2025: Very good food, friendly staff, and helpful with explaining the menu. For two people, including a bottle of water and a dish each, we spent about €40, so it was fair. The hummus was very good. The place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is wonderful, especially in the evening. They were very kind to provide a bowl of water for my dog ​​and the cat because there were a lot of mosquitoes. I recommend it for trying something different.

09/09/2025: The beach's highlight... Lucio, the owner!!! Extremely kind and helpful...we had a special deal with the hotel, and even though the reserved seats were in the rows furthest from the sea, he spontaneously moved us closer (maybe he could have because it was the end of the season and they had some free seats, but we really appreciated it).

I spent two amazing weeks in Bologna, fully focused on making pasta, with the help of Alexandra and Lucia, who are both incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. From the very beginning, they gave me their full attention, teaching with great energy, hands-on practice, and helpful feedback every step of the way. This was much more than just a cooking class—it felt like a real apprenticeship. Making pasta dough by hand in the traditional way was challenging, especially at first, but thanks to their patience and expert teaching, I slowly built up my confidence and skills. This class wasn’t about shortcuts or surface-level learning. It was about really understanding the process and learning how to make pasta from scratch the right way. The lessons covered a wide variety of pasta. We started with fresh tagliatelle and moved on to stuffed pastas like tortelloni, balanzoni, mezzelune, triangoli, and their own original creation, bombette (which was seriously delicious). Each type had its own technique and style. Since it was a one-on-one class, everything was adjusted to my speed and progress, which made the learning experience even more rewarding. What I appreciated most was that Alexandra and Lucia were not only warm, fun, and easy to be around—they were also honest and clear when teaching. This wasn’t the kind of class where you only get compliments. They pointed out my mistakes without hesitation, and I’m truly thankful for that. Their high standards and strong commitment to quality really helped me improve. I left the class with solid skills and the confidence to make pasta on my own. And one last thing—the tortellini in brodo they made for me? It was by far the best dish I had during my whole stay in Bologna. A perfect bowl filled with tradition, technique, and love.

07/09/2025: An agriturismo located about half an hour from Parma in a very pleasant setting. The owners were extremely polite and friendly, and very good at managing the dining room. The food and ingredients seemed carefully selected and of excellent quality, from the appetizers (we're in the homeland of prosciutto crudo, and expectations were high, and absolutely not disappointed) to the desserts. The wines and selection of liqueurs were delicious. The price was reasonable for the quality/price ratio. Dogs and other pets are welcome here.

22/09/2025: Il Punto is a friendly, lively place, tastefully decorated, and features an outdoor veranda perfect for warm summer evenings. They offer a wide selection of excellent quality beers, both bottled and on tap, which in my opinion is the place's strong point. The food is also good. The finger food and burgers are good. I recommend the excellent pulled pork burger.

15/07/2025: I went to this place for a bikers' meeting of about 40 people. The food quality was excellent, and the prices were good. The meat was sublime, even though the menu was pre-booked. The service was highly questionable. I understand optimizing the tables, but packing six people at a table for four is too much. The staff hand-delivered the dishes because there wasn't enough room at the narrow tables... that's not good.
