02/10/2025: The restaurant is well-kept and pleasant, with a welcoming atmosphere. The service, however, seemed a bit spartan and inattentive. Regarding the food, I wasn't satisfied: I tried the cockerel, served in a mustard-based sauce that I didn't like because it was completely submerged in it, and it wasn't cooked perfectly. Even the cruciferous pasta, which should have been cooked at a low temperature, wasn't as tender as promised: the meat didn't fall off the bone as expected. The worst part was the wait: about 45 minutes after ordering, a decidedly long time. Overall, it wasn't a completely positive experience.

02/10/2025: Hands down, the best delicatessen in Piacenza. It's rare to meet a true professional who pours all their love and knowledge into what they do, yet remains humble. Anyone who enters Il Salumaio Valla can see the owner's passion: we found ourselves spellbound listening to his stories about the curing process of the cured meats, while tasting them accompanied by a special wine (also produced by him), halfway between still and sparkling, sweet just like the wine itself. Personally, I would walk the entire length of Via Roma every day, even though it's no longer the best area of ​​the city, just to return to that little shop brimming with history, studded with price lists as they once were. It's a leap into the past but also a step into the future, thanks to the gourmet selection it offers. I can't wait to return, even if it's just to try the famous gourmet chocolate with pancetta, or to experience the banquet they host on the first Sunday of the month, with everything freshly prepared. A place that will stay in your heart and honors Piacenza's traditions. Highly recommended!

30/09/2025: As I passed the window, my attention was drawn to the bread and some pumpkin tarts, as well as the humorous captions describing the delicacies so tastefully displayed. Inside, I enjoyed a pleasant conversation with the jovial Mr. Ettore, a son of a professional, who enthusiastically described and praised his artisanal products. In addition to the fig foie gras, which he makes himself, I also purchased the coppa, the true star of the counter. It seems homemade using the traditional method of dry-salting and drying over a wood fire. Naturally, I also purchased the two pumpkin products. I was able to appreciate the truly authentic flavor of products purchased only at home. The foie gras was supplied in a refrigerated bag. Delicious when chilled, it was appreciated for its originality. Bravo!

18/09/2025: Tried it last night after some friends recommended it to an acquaintance. The bar is simple but very welcoming. As my friend who made a reservation described it, it's definitely "the place to be" in the area. Nice people, friendly and cheerful bartenders, good wine. Reservations are highly recommended because it's small.

18/11/2025: Cafe in Bologna city centre with gluten free options (both sweet and savoury!). This custard pie with apple slices was pretty good, a sweet treat I bought myself yesterday afternoon after my Bologna explorations. The service was fast and the waiter was very friendly, but this was definitely too expensive for italian standards: 4€ for a pastry is definitely too much guys.
