05/02/2026: Don't be fooled by the rotisserie visible from the outside, because it will satisfy your eyes but not your stomach: after ordering two main courses, asking for the liver to be removed from one of them, they arrived with three small pieces of roast and four slices of bread between them (correctly not the liver), but when it came to the bill, there was no price change for the missing piece (nor even an extra piece of meat as a replacement). Add to that the restaurant was scheduled to open at 7:00 PM, but we were left outside in the cold because, according to the owner, the meat wasn't ready yet and takeout should be served first. The only reason I gave it one star is because of the courtesy of the waiter who served us.

02/02/2026: Historic restaurant, beautiful atmosphere, young, very helpful and friendly waiters. There were 8 of us. An appetizer of cured meats and crostini was supposed to be for one person, but it was very generous. A portion of tripe and pappardelle with wild boar for 6. For the main course, a 1.5 kg Florentine steak, a rib-eye steak, a sliced ​​steak, and three fillets with truffles. A couple of desserts, coffee, and grappa. Sangiovese wine with the restaurant's own label, 3 bottles, and water. Bill €57 per person. Historic restaurant, quality food, very kind and knowledgeable young waiters. Recommended

14/01/2026: Excellent hospitality, the dining room is beautiful and elegant. The dishes are exquisite. I recommend the pear parcels and the nettle gnocchi. We also ordered the grilled cod and the Livorno-style cod. 🍴🏆

28/01/2026: Terrible waiter, rude, impatient, especially due to the language barrier. He TRIED to take the dish away twice as if he wanted us to leave, so we did. Such conduct detracts from the appeal of the dishes and, indeed, the pleasure of enjoying such wonderful Florentine cuisine.

22/01/2026: Excellent historic trattoria. We went there two midweek evenings on January 20th and 21st. The service was good in a dated, unfussy setting. The dishes were well-prepared with top-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the tender sirloin and the delicious fried artichokes.

03/01/2026: Absolutely incredible place. Gilda is everything that Florence represents, as she says, she's from here. Just like I'm from Lisbon. We are from here, from the place where the city's name comes from, from those who came before us, years and years of flavors and tradition, we know what our city tastes like, and at Gilda's it tastes like Prosecco, it tastes like Tagliatelle with Duck Ragu, with shameless Parmesan... we can use and abuse it without guilt, like someone who isn't from here. I usually stay here, but I was entitled to the Jackpot of table wine with biscotto and a Black Forest cake, I was won over by the wine with soaked biscuit, it tasted like Heaven, Duomo and David. Gilda knows our Maria de Medeiros very well and was a great friend of the great Misia. I think this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, and long live Gilda and long live Florence.

31/12/2025: We had an excellent meal at Gilda's and had a wonderful time. The restaurant's aesthetics and ambiance are fantastic, the service is warm and welcoming (unlike other Tuscan restaurants we visited), and above all, we loved the dishes, including an amuse-bouche of polenta and zucchini, a delicious pasta dish and risotto, and a generous slice of Torte della Nonna. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence!

06/01/2026: A restaurant in the hills of Florence, visited on a rainy day in mid-December. The place is charming and welcoming, with a large and friendly staff. Recommended by Florentine friends, but I expected more traditional dishes: for example, the ribollita was missing, although perhaps it wasn't the right day. I think the menu could use some reworking, giving more emphasis to traditional dishes. The prices are medium-high, but the dishes don't entirely justify the cost. I'll probably return, but I'll be more careful when choosing my dishes.

05/01/2026: We booked a table for 20 people to say goodbye to a friend who was leaving. At first, everything seemed normal, but with the entrees, it was a disaster: ridiculous portions, people with nothing on their plates, and we had to reorder to accommodate everyone. The real problem was the owner. He started yelling at the staff and our table, threatening us and treating the other customers arrogantly. He ordered the kitchen to close immediately, ignoring the people who were still eating. When he tried to remove a plate left for a girl who was late, a confrontation broke out in which he was disrespectful, aggressive, and completely out of control. We never asked for the plate to be remade, just to leave it there so the girl could eat. In the end, we paid for everything, including the two forkfuls she was able to eat, just to avoid further problems caused by the owner. It was a terrible experience, ruined solely by the owner's total lack of professionalism, respect, and self-control. He made the evening impossible and proved incapable of handling even normal situations. We will never return and strongly advise against this place.

01/02/2026: The food wasn't bad, but the service was terrible. Even though there was still food left, they kept coming over to ask if I was finished and signaled I should leave. They also demanded a tip in addition to charging a table fee. This place is just obsessed with money. If you're going to pay a lot of money, go somewhere else. It really pissed me off.

10/01/2026: The place wasn't very clean. Maybe because I arrived after peak hours. The traditional sandwich didn't deliver what it promised, but the price was quite reasonable at €5.50. The house wine was reasonable, also reasonably priced. I wouldn't go back; it was a worthwhile experience to try the traditional sandwich, but I didn't like it.
