Ristorante Cortefreda In Tavarnelle val di pesa

02/03/2026: A historic restaurant where I've celebrated various anniversaries over the years, it still maintains its original atmosphere. For lunch on Saturday, we enjoyed half a spit-roasted chicken and a mixed roast (the liver and roulade were excellent), accompanied by a plate of fried artichokes (special!), while our son enjoyed pappardelle with hare sauce. To finish, we had mascarpone cream with lingue di gatto (cat's tongues) and zuccotto (both delicious). The restaurant is simple but welcoming; the waiters are friendly; the only complaint is that the wait times are a bit long, which is justified by the fact that the meat is cooked to order (but perhaps the fact of serving takeout customers also plays a role). The prices are excellent, especially for those accustomed to Florence! Reservations are highly recommended on weekends.
