08/05/2026: At the top of the top of the absolute top

30/04/2026: We came across Il Due Cippi online and saw that it is considered one of the best steak houses in Italy, so we decided to visit. Since we didn’t know in advance that reservations were practically mandatory, we still decided to try our luck, joined the waiting list, and waited to be contacted. If this is their system, it would at least be fair to clearly inform guests when there is no availability for the same day, instead of making them waste time waiting. Despite this, we still wanted to give the restaurant a chance, but we were very disappointed by the reception and the way communication was handled. There was already a couple outside with a confirmed reservation, and I politely asked whether there might be a free table available. The answer was an immediate “no,” delivered in a rather mocking tone. I also had the feeling that we were judged instantly because we arrived with a child — as if we would certainly disturb the other guests and probably would not spend as much money as others, also based on the way we were dressed. I would like to point out that we regularly dine at high-end restaurants, including Michelin-starred restaurants with two or even three stars, which is why this kind of labeling and attitude really bothers me. When I asked whether something might become available later in the evening, I again received a cold “no,” after which the gentleman essentially cut me off and immediately walked over to the couple waiting outside, greeting them warmly with a handshake. I believe the steaks are excellent and the prices are very fair for the quality. However, a restaurant that aims to represent fine dining and Michelin-level standards should also show some culture, respect, and basic manners toward all guests.

We had an incredible, authentically Italian experience, excellent value for money, and a very pleasant and friendly waiter! 29/05/2026: We went without a reservation and were blown away. The food was perfectly prepared. The staff was very attentive and quick. They recommended a great wine to us. Verdict: A must!

20/04/2026: We were staying in the area and had dinner at this trattoria. We ordered three fillets and asked for a tomato-filled picio for my daughter. Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, and the meat was tender! Even the tomato sauce for my daughter's picio was expertly made (which isn't a given when you go to a restaurant and ask for a dish off the children's menu). Special mention to the waitress; she was kind and attentive throughout the service. See you soon!

19/04/2026: The Florentine steak melts in your mouth (the wild boar pici is also excellent), the prices are very fair, and the hospitality and friendliness are excellent. A true trattoria, as it should be.

17/04/2026: I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Osteria del Proconsolo—easily a 5-star evening from start to finish. The food was exceptional, with every dish crafted to perfection and bursting with authentic flavor. You can really tell there’s passion and attention to detail behind everything that comes out of the kitchen. What truly made the night special, though, was the service. Fiona and Cris went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Their warmth, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm elevated the entire experience. They gave fantastic recommendations and made sure every moment felt relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re looking for incredible food paired with unforgettable hospitality, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We ate at a table facing a wide selection of (we assume) collectible wines, displayed to frame a simple yet refined setting. We ordered two appetizers (sfocato with confit tomatoes, anchovies, and burrata, a potato and onion millefeuille with a delicious Greek sauce accompanied by the ever-present San Daniele prosciutto), two first courses (maltagliati with wild boar ragù and beetroot gnocchi with venison ragù) accompanied by two glasses of Valpolicella red wine, highly recommended by the very knowledgeable staff (the wine cellar is amazing). The waiters are very friendly and attentive to your needs and requests, and the staff gets a thumbs up. As for the quantity, I must say that it's artisanal cuisine that combines traditional local flavors with top-quality, non-native ingredients (the portions aren't gourmet-style). The price is slightly above average, but you know, quality comes at a price. The restaurant gets a full thumbs up.

12/04/2026: We are two pilgrims from Piedmont who were fortunate enough to enjoy the dishes at this restaurant. We ordered ribollita and cod, along with a sampling of the house desserts. This was, without a doubt, the restaurant that served us the best food since we set out from Florence.

04/04/2026: We went to this restaurant for the first time, recommended by friends, what can I say, the food is good, the artichoke is delicious, the wine is the same... Only one flaw, the atmosphere would be nice and typical of the countryside but alas, cleanliness, this unknown!

09/06/2026: Fantastic Florentine Steak ! Super tender, juicy and smoky. The meat has exceptional quality that just melts in your mouth ! Every bite felt like paradise !!

06/06/2026: It's like eating with your whole extended family in your grandmother's house if she lived in Tuscany. With that it's a communal dining experience like no other. And now about the food, it's some of the best food you'll ever eat. Best flavors you'll ever experience and your palate will never taste any of anything like this again. Single-Handedly the biggest steak I've ever seen and the best steak I've ever eaten in my entire lifetime. The steak is the size of the old 96er from the movie The Great Outdoors. Pastas were all amazing first courses, Second course and appetizers are out of this world . Flavor combos I've never seen before. It opened at 7:30 and it was entirely booked up. So if you don't make reservations early you won't be able to get in. If you're visiting montafluciano or anywhere nearby, you owe it to yourself to try this restaurant. And last but not least, let's talk about the prices as an American. I've been to worst steakhouses and paid twice as much the prices are the some of the best you can get at a restaurant of that quality. The pictures I have attached. Don't do it. Justice in both pictures. I started eating before I took a picture so both dishes are actually bigger than the pic I was so blown away. I completely forgot about getting a picture before eating. It smelled just that good.

21/05/2026: The best restaurant in the neighborhood! We arrived without a reservation. Our first reaction was “there is no room left,” but on second thought, and when the maître d' saw that we spoke Italian, the door opened. What an experience. Authentic traditional local cuisine. Full house every single day. We will definitely be back. Very friendly staff.

08/04/2026: Superb experience! The food was delicious, exceeding all expectations. We had shrimp tempura, squid cannoli, tortelli Bolognese, crispy octopus, cheesecake, and chocolate cake. Each dish was unique, and the flavors transported you to a different world. We went with our 4- and 1-year-old children, and they even prepared a pasta dish off the menu for them. Impeccable service and a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent wine selection.
