I due Cippi In Manciano

Excellent i Due Cippi, welcoming and superb as always

My husband and I are at Due Cippi dal 1976 in Saturnia. A tall, bearded young man in a black shirt — Lorenzo, the Meat Master and co-owner— approaches our table carrying a heavy rustic wooden board. On it rests an absolutely magnificent raw Chianina steak. He places it gently in front of us with a proud smile and gestures toward the meat with an open hand. I lean in for a closer look. The steak is over 2 pounds and thick-cut, easily three fingers high. Its color is a deep, vibrant cherry red with beautiful, intricate marbling of white fat running through the muscle. A thick, creamy-white fat cap runs along one edge, promising incredible flavor once it renders over the oak fire. The meat looks incredibly fresh, dry-aged to perfection, and full of promise. Lorenzo stands there patiently, letting me inspect every detail before it heads to the historic “due cippi” fireplaces. This personal presentation makes me feel completely involved in the experience — it’s not just a steak, it’s a conversation between the kitchen and the guest. We nod with a big smile, giving our enthusiastic approval. In a few minutes, this beautiful Chianina will be transformed into one of the best steaks of my life. The anticipation is wonderful.

It was the most delicious meat eating experience i have ever had. I 100% recommend that you buy a bottle of their olive oil as well.

An outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Every dish was cooked to perfection, with exceptional quality and impeccable service. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had and I’ll definitely be coming back!

This was a great find during our visit to Saturnia. The service was excellent, especially from our server, Mr. Ayoub. Their steak was wonderful. They had a wide variety of meats to choose from. A must-try.

A detour that paid off — we ended up in Saturnia by mistake and luckily found a lovely Airbnb. While there, we discovered Due Cippi Dal 1976 and managed to secure a reservation for our family. Even though we were exhausted, the whole experience felt exciting from the moment we arrived. Our waiter was warm friendly and knowledgeable he gave an excellent recommendation when helping us choose our steaks 🥩 As always, we try to experience the local specialties and produce wherever we travel, so we chose the aged dairy cow — and it was absolutely stunning. Alongside the steaks, we enjoyed beautiful appetisers and vegetables, all of which our children aged 9, 6, and 3 happily devoured. Paired beautifully with a local wine. Oh the charcoal lemon pie completed our night. What a stunning restaurant and lovely experience. Bravo 👏

At the top of the top of the absolute top

Incredible experience. Was so worried it wouldnt live up to the hype as had been looking forward to this for a long time, but it was everything you want from a culinary experience and delivered on every level. Went with my wife and 2 daughters and for a top end restaurant the atmosphere was not pretentious, it was perfectly balanced like all the flavours. We had the Italian Wagyu and many other delights with an amazing bottle of red wine. Staff wrre super friendly, took me to look at all the various cuts and talk to you about which wpuld be best for what I wanted to experience and it was perfect. This is one of the best restaurants in the world. Met the owner/chef Lorenzo at the end, lovely guy but a true master of his craft.

The appetizer is very good, but we’re told the Chianina beef are not aged enough yet, which is quite a surprise for a meat ristorante in such caliber, we have to choose other cut, then things start go downhill, I normally cooked American wagyu beef myself at home, my wife said it is much better, not worth for 300 euro on the meal. It is also odd they have a miscellaneous charge, not sure exactly what it is.

A top-notch culinary experience: we ate wonderfully from start to finish. Everything was top-notch in terms of quality and preparation. The only downside is the wine list, which we found rather prohibitively expensive. I'd suggest adding a few more affordable options to make the experience perfect in every way. Highly recommended!
