07/10/2025: I rarely give bad reviews, and this was no different in this case... I've never had a bad meal in Italy...unfortunately, this is the first time I've had one. In the latest Tuscany travel guide (Müller Verlag), this restaurant, a little outside and remote from San Miniato, is touted as a good truffle restaurant. My husband ordered beef tartare with truffles as an appetizer, and we both ordered pasta with truffles for our main course. Surprisingly, the appetizer and my main course were brought out at the same time...(in retrospect, that was a good thing for us, as we ended up canceling the second portion of truffle pasta). The beef tartar was completely unseasoned, neither salted nor peppered, and the truffle topping was absolutely flavorless, which is an absolute feat, as truffles are normally highly aromatic and intense, and we've had the pleasure of enjoying this very special specialty in many restaurants... The truffle pasta was covered under a hood, which was then aired... a strange smell (at first, I had a chlorine scent) wafted up... I thought it might be from the freshly washed dishes... water in Italy is occasionally slightly chlorinated, and possibly the pasta was cooked in chlorinated water... no idea... in any case, it wasn't the expected scent of fresh truffles!!! The pasta was al dente, but not particularly high-quality pasta; the surface was smooth; there are better options. The sauce was tiny in quantity, and the generous amount of truffle shaved over it (summer truffle, by the looks of it...) smelled or tasted absolutely nothing like truffles. (As I said, an art with such a highly aromatic ingredient... the chef must have noticed it when shaving it over...) The service was reservedly friendly, but the option to cancel the second portion of truffle pasta was very nice, thank you for that. The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful garden and pleasantly secluded; anyone can find it using Google Maps. There's a large parking lot. Maybe we were just unlucky... what a pity, we were so looking forward to a delicious truffle experience to round off our vacation... Generally on the higher side, which isn't a problem for us if the quality is right... but not for what we were offered, I'm disappointed... 1x truffle beef tartar, 1x truffle linguini, including 1 glass of white wine (by the glass, it was very good) and 1 bottle of still water, for a reasonable €61. If I could give zero stars, I would... sorry. P.S.: The dining room (lots of cobwebs...) is in dire need of cleaning... and I'm really not picky... even in a country inn, cobwebs aren't part of the atmosphere... My response to the owner's expected unfriendly reaction: Best regards, Mr. Stefano! I can only judge what I consumed, and that, of course, isn't the entire menu on my first visit... I certainly wasn't imagining that first smell; I have a good nose... but let's leave it at that... The fact is, the truffles didn't smell or taste even remotely like truffles... perhaps they were old or smoked out, it can happen... Looking at their reactions to criticism, however, they urgently need to attend a seminar on conflict management and dealing with customer criticism. As soon as customers point out deficiencies, they immediately become personal, even insulting, in their conversation... does that really have to be? An excellent restaurant is characterized by politeness, courtesy, and a good tone in EVERY SITUATION, especially when criticism is being offered. Nobody's perfect... not even their establishment... and who says we won't come back? Everyone gets a second chance with me!

13/10/2025: A good restaurant in Bolgheri. More touristy than regular. In warmer weather, there's a pleasant outdoor area.

30/10/2025: I went for a birthday. The price, at least for our "fixed" menu, was very reasonable, but the house wine left much to be desired (understandable, considering it was unlimited for everyone). Good gluten-free options, average service.

20/11/2025: Excellent trattoria, it has everything: a very friendly welcome and service, excellent food, and a lovely terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and only regretted discovering it on the last day of our stay. I highly recommend it!

16/11/2025: This was a recommendation from our taxi driver, and we were so glad we had it! On Sunday, it was practically full of locals. The food and wine were fantastic. This was by far the best restaurant we had on our trip to Florence! The service was also very friendly, and even though we had already been assigned a table in another room, we were able to choose a table for two. Despite the restaurant being completely full, the staff remained attentive and approachable. Both desserts were delicious!

02/11/2025: Highly recommended! A gem of a place, for the service, the ambiance, and the food. Unconventional dishes made with seasonal, quality ingredients at a more than fair price. The staff is incredibly friendly. Highly recommended.

29/10/2025: A really good osteria in the middle of the Tuscan countryside. I went there twice during our stay at a nearby agriturismo. The food was excellent. Wine list offered some good options with local and not so local Italian wines. The service and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely recommend it.

11/12/2025: We went to my son's graduation dinner, great service. Delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

08/12/2025: Dinner at this location not far from Piazza del Campo and the Duomo...an intimate atmosphere...soft lighting...staff...kind and attentive service...well-prepared dishes...abundant food...pici among the best I've ever tasted...excellent wine...fair price...not your typical tourist spot...my compliments...I highly recommend it.

13/10/2025: A really nice place with good prices. The waiter was very kind and helpful. I had the tagliatelle with summer truffle and loved it. The wine was also excellent, a Chianti Classico di Cosimo Bojola. Simple and satisfying.

29/11/2025: Claimed to be the best sandwich in the world. You can try it, but don't have high expectations. Otherwise, I just wouldn't know what to order. It's a huge portion; you can't finish one. It's a bit dry, so you might want to eat it with something to drink. If you're in the area, I highly recommend trying it. After eating it, I only had one thought: the world is huge.

29/11/2025: Life is short - treat yourself. 100% worth the hype. This is the pinnacle of sandwiches, the gold standard. I will be returning across the Atlantic just to have another fistful of these pure treasures. Splurge and double fist - why not? Your future self will be grateful. The Italiano sandwich was the winner in my book. The pistachio 2 also a big hit.

06/12/2025: Fixed menu, they were very kind to me... because at the end they brought me a first course with variations of some ingredients... when I mentioned it, the owner insisted on not making me pay for it... it had never happened before... really kind... for what you pay it is a really good restaurant with generous portions.

16/11/2025: The first time we were in Siena we had lunch here, a Florentine-style steak that stayed in our memory. We returned, didn't have the steak, tried other dishes and confirmed the excellent impression. In the tourist heart of Siena, a cellar where Italian families sit down for lunch on Sundays: could there be a better compliment?

10/11/2025: A hidden gem not far from the main square. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside you'll find lovely service, delicious food, and a neighborhood restaurant atmosphere... I loved it. The portions are generous and the service is quick. The cacio e pepe pico was amazing! 👌🤤

12/11/2025: After visiting the Prato town center, we went to this restaurant. I had booked from home a few days in advance, not expecting the crowds, and I was right. It quickly filled up with customers after opening. My daughter and I enjoyed a superb rabbit leg, not to mention the other dishes my husband and other son ordered, and then the desserts were truly mouth-watering. All in all, a perfect choice! We'll definitely be back! The staff was truly superb!

22/11/2025: We were there 20 days ago. It's a very nice place, the food is excellent and the prices are great. The staff is very kind. The bathrooms are clean and the atmosphere is very welcoming. My compliments to the owners!!
