07/10/2025: I rarely give bad reviews, and this was no different in this case... I've never had a bad meal in Italy...unfortunately, this is the first time I've had one. In the latest Tuscany travel guide (Müller Verlag), this restaurant, a little outside and remote from San Miniato, is touted as a good truffle restaurant. My husband ordered beef tartare with truffles as an appetizer, and we both ordered pasta with truffles for our main course. Surprisingly, the appetizer and my main course were brought out at the same time...(in retrospect, that was a good thing for us, as we ended up canceling the second portion of truffle pasta). The beef tartar was completely unseasoned, neither salted nor peppered, and the truffle topping was absolutely flavorless, which is an absolute feat, as truffles are normally highly aromatic and intense, and we've had the pleasure of enjoying this very special specialty in many restaurants... The truffle pasta was covered under a hood, which was then aired... a strange smell (at first, I had a chlorine scent) wafted up... I thought it might be from the freshly washed dishes... water in Italy is occasionally slightly chlorinated, and possibly the pasta was cooked in chlorinated water... no idea... in any case, it wasn't the expected scent of fresh truffles!!! The pasta was al dente, but not particularly high-quality pasta; the surface was smooth; there are better options. The sauce was tiny in quantity, and the generous amount of truffle shaved over it (summer truffle, by the looks of it...) smelled or tasted absolutely nothing like truffles. (As I said, an art with such a highly aromatic ingredient... the chef must have noticed it when shaving it over...) The service was reservedly friendly, but the option to cancel the second portion of truffle pasta was very nice, thank you for that. The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful garden and pleasantly secluded; anyone can find it using Google Maps. There's a large parking lot. Maybe we were just unlucky... what a pity, we were so looking forward to a delicious truffle experience to round off our vacation... Generally on the higher side, which isn't a problem for us if the quality is right... but not for what we were offered, I'm disappointed... 1x truffle beef tartar, 1x truffle linguini, including 1 glass of white wine (by the glass, it was very good) and 1 bottle of still water, for a reasonable €61. If I could give zero stars, I would... sorry. P.S.: The dining room (lots of cobwebs...) is in dire need of cleaning... and I'm really not picky... even in a country inn, cobwebs aren't part of the atmosphere... My response to the owner's expected unfriendly reaction: Best regards, Mr. Stefano! I can only judge what I consumed, and that, of course, isn't the entire menu on my first visit... I certainly wasn't imagining that first smell; I have a good nose... but let's leave it at that... The fact is, the truffles didn't smell or taste even remotely like truffles... perhaps they were old or smoked out, it can happen... Looking at their reactions to criticism, however, they urgently need to attend a seminar on conflict management and dealing with customer criticism. As soon as customers point out deficiencies, they immediately become personal, even insulting, in their conversation... does that really have to be? An excellent restaurant is characterized by politeness, courtesy, and a good tone in EVERY SITUATION, especially when criticism is being offered. Nobody's perfect... not even their establishment... and who says we won't come back? Everyone gets a second chance with me!

30/09/2025: After a long day we wanted to eat where the locals eat. Dinner is very important to the Italians and it starts at 7pm. We squeaked in with out a reservation because we arrived early, as they opened. Beautiful place, the service was great, and the food was amazing. We only ate a single course, but they offer an entire menu for any Italian food craving tourists or local. The place filled with locals by the we finished our meal.

05/10/2025: Hands down, the best pizza in the area. Excellent ingredients, elaborate pizzas that are different from the usual pizzerias. Everything was excellent, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend it.

04/10/2025: Very welcoming place and friendly service (they gave us a table at short notice). I had the fried pizza and it wasn't heavy at all, plus the ingredients were high-quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A dinner not to be missed!

30/08/2025: We went to the restaurant, attracted by the traditional Tuscan dishes. The restaurant is beautiful and well-attended. The prices are great. I chose the coniglio (rabbit) meat because I'd never tried it before. I loved it! The restaurant is family-run, and we received excellent service! I highly recommend it!

12/09/2025: Excellent food, friendly and approachable owner. Bob the waiter is super sweet 😂. We parked our camper in the lot in front of the entrance and were able to come in for lunch with the dog. Highly recommended.

02/09/2025: We got a table for seven without a reservation. The owner was very nice and spoke good English. The meals were generously sized and the prices were absolutely reasonable. The view was, of course, also a highlight.

23/09/2025: An elegant place, perfect for a quiet evening. The owner welcomed us and treated us wonderfully, a gentleman whose passion shines through in every gesture. Kudos also to the waitress. I had the peci with duck ragù in white wine, and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

10/09/2025: A place recommended by a travel guide. It's quite hidden, like a little treasure. The ambiance is unique, but the decor is meticulously crafted. The service was extremely friendly and courteous (just 10 minutes after we ordered, they even took care to reassure us that we hadn't received our food yet). The dishes are prepared with just the right amount of attention, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The price is reasonable compared to what I would have expected for a place like this.

10/10/2025: Frankly, I don't like this restaurant's strategy: the portions of the first courses are truly minimal, so customers are forced to order a second course as well, or even a different first course. I'd accept this sort of compromise if the prices of the individual dishes were also commensurate, but they aren't, and frankly, it doesn't seem like an elegant approach.

05/08/2025: Pochi piatti ma molto ben cucinati, atmosfera familiare e un oste che ti fa sentire a tuo agio. Prezzi alti ma in linea con lo standard di Pienza: molto gradito il liquore finale…. ci facciamo uno Spinello? 😁 Ci tornerei anche domani!

31/07/2025: Ambiente gradevole e personale molto gentile menù molto limitato e prezzi esosi. Pici all'aglione buoni ma non abbondanti e un prezzo elevato (18 euro). Una lattina di Coca Cola 5 euro, un bicchiere di vino della casa 8 euro. Non lo consiglio nè ci tornerei.

06/07/2025: Restaurante familiar de alto nivel culinario con buena relación calidad-precio. Sirven aperitivos por cortesía de la casa a modo de aperitivo entrante. Ofrecen varias opciones de menú degustación, pero también se puede pedir a la carta. Fuimos a cenar en pareja, y pedimos 4 platos: - Los mejores mejillones en escabeche de nuestra vida (y mira que hemos probado unos cuantos!), servidos sobre un hueso con tuétano!! - Foie: un medallón con varios tipos diferentes de pan tostado para untarlo. - Raviolis de gambas con trufa: muy sabrosos. - Corba roja con vegetales: bien cocinada. Para beber: mi mujer embarazada de 4 meses tomó una botella de agua y yo un un cóctel Di Sole E D’Azurro (muy refrescante y poco cargado de alcohol). De postre un tiramisú y un café Fredo con Bailleys. Todo ello con una excelente atención por parte de los 3 miembros de la familia que regenta el negocio: sin duda un sitio para volver y recomendar. Enhorabuena a todo el equipo!! En total pagamos 125€.

15/09/2025: A charming Italian place with wonderful cuisine... delicious pasta... the meat melts in your mouth... a wonderful atmosphere... simply the quintessence of Italy... I highly, highly recommend it... and I will definitely go back there :)

11/09/2025: For over 20 years, my family has enjoyed Soldano's fantastic cuisine during our visits to Prato. A must-try if you're passing through, reservations are mandatory. The owner is friendly, approachable, and helpful. She's surrounded by a hard-working team, including her son in the kitchen. The dishes are exquisite. All of them. Try the local cuisine, like the chicken liver crostini. And much more. Very reasonable prices.

06/09/2025: The restaurant is excellent, whatever the menu. The place is welcoming, and the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I love this place and recommend it to anyone who wants to eat out in a relaxing and satisfying way.
