Fantastic service, very friendly staff. Our waitress was so kind and helpful, she recommended dishes and spoke very good English which helped. One of our party accidentally ordered the incorrect dish but the restaurant replaced it with a delicious alternative dish for no charge and without any issue. They did not have to do this as we made the mistake! We have been multiple times to this restaurant and ordered, pizza, and traditional Tuscan dishes which were all fantastic and for an affordable price. Particular highlights - limoncello spritz, tartufo Cacio e Pepe, pizzas with a thin crisp base and tiramisu. Thank you!

We ate at this restaurant two evenings in a row. Since we arrived relatively early by Italian standards, we got a table for two without a reservation. The service was very friendly. However, you should allow plenty of time for the two-course meal (antipasti and main course). Everything takes quite a while, but you are rewarded with good food. The antipasti, in particular, was excellent. The pizza was a bit too dry for our taste.

Nice place downtown, excellent service, young and friendly waiters. Excellent dishes, top-notch truffle tortelli, exquisite braised meat. Unforgettable dinner 😋

Delicious huge pizza just for 7,5 EUR. The prices are very good for Tuscany area, maybe because the town is not that touristic. We definitely recommend. We payed 25 EUR for two pizza's, water and 2 glasses of wine. Very filling, fastly done and the waiterress was very friendly and nice.

06/07/2026: What a wonderful place! We celebrated the third day of our wedding here with around 60 guests, and it couldn't have been a more perfect ending to our wedding weekend. From the very beginning, the communication was easy, friendly and uncomplicated. The restaurant even opened exclusively for our group, which made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was fantastic. The pasta was absolutely delicious, the salad was served family-style in the middle of the tables, creating such a warm and authentic Italian atmosphere, and the tiramisu was simply outstanding. The setting is something truly special. Surrounded by vineyards with breathtaking views that look like a postcard, it captures everything you imagine when dreaming of Tuscany. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and what we loved most was the relaxed atmosphere. Nothing felt rushed or overly formal—it truly felt like sitting around a table with a big Italian family, enjoying great food, good wine and wonderful company. If you're looking for authentic Italian hospitality and an unforgettable experience, this is the place. We will definitely be back. 🤍🇮🇹

13/08/2026: The real Tuscany in the heart of San Gimignano ❤️🍷 During our stay in San Gimignano, we had the pleasure of dining at La Mangiatoia, and we can say it was one of the most beautiful gastronomic experiences of our trip. The restaurant is truly distinctive: warm, intimate, and atmospheric, perfectly nestled in the charm of San Gimignano's historic center. A setting that immediately immerses you in the spirit of Tuscany. But the best part comes at the table. The cuisine won us over with authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and traditional Tuscan dishes prepared with great care. Everything we tasted was truly excellent, from the starters to the main courses, right down to the desserts. A cuisine that doesn't need any special effects: raw ingredients, tradition, and top-quality ingredients. This is precisely what we appreciated most. The service also deserves special mention: the staff are kind, helpful, and professional, but above all, they create a pleasant atmosphere that allows you to enjoy dinner without rushing and enjoying the pleasure of being at the table. La Mangiatoia is one of those restaurants that, upon leaving, makes you think, "We ate really well here." If you're passing through San Gimignano and looking for a place to savor authentic Tuscan cuisine in a characteristic and welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely a place to remember. We left completely satisfied and would gladly return. Highly recommended!
