We chose this restaurant because its menu stood out a bit. But we were disappointed. The lumachine allo scoglio was too salty, the calamari rubbery and, in my opinion, frozen. The carbonara was heavy. The tagliolini with truffle was good. The wine was decent. Three primi, two glasses of wine, and a bottle of water for €93! Frankly, too expensive for the quality.

We came to dinner at this restaurant recommended by locals, especially people from Pienza. In reality, we were supposed to have dinner elsewhere in Bagno Vignoni, but it was closed for vacation. That said, we were pleasantly surprised by the attentive, friendly, and helpful service. The wine list offers a wide, high-quality selection. The menu is also surprisingly extensive and innovative, considering we've often found ourselves eating the same things at other restaurants, and the selections never varied. Overall, we had a wonderful evening, never to be underestimated, given these times. More and more often, we find ourselves going out for lunch or dinner and generally returning home with a bitter taste in our mouths because the dishes are always poorly prepared and poorly crafted, and the prices are far from fair. At Osteria del Leone, I can guarantee you'll find passion for this profession, from the table setting to the friendly service of the excellent waiters, ready to accommodate your requests with kindness and professionalism, to the beautifully crafted dishes. Excellent work! Having worked in the restaurant business for almost 15 years, I always enjoy finding gems like this.

Absolutely fantastic food! Everything tastes soo good. The beef sashimi is so original, the fried fish was SO FRESH. My lamb shank was awesome and every other dish like the gnocchi, the truffle pasta OOO M G. If you are visiting Tuscany it’s a must. The pavlovaa was delicious!

I am writing this review, while I have not even finished my dinner yet. The food and the service were great! The atmosphere was also extremely warm and cute, definitely recommend if you want to go with your partner and sit outside in the piazza. An excellent, excellent choice. Please try the lamb with a brunello!

We had dinner for four. Excellent first courses (Pici with garlic, oil, and pecorino cheese, and Pici with Tuscan ragù), and the second course (Peposo di pialino (pork cheek stew) with mashed potatoes) was truly delicious. The homemade desserts rounded out an excellent dinner from every perspective. The recommended wine was also excellent. The service was friendly and very welcoming. Good value for money.

A fantastic experience! Extremely friendly staff and a warm welcome. The garden is beautiful, service is fast! It's a shame we only had the starters, which were nothing short of amazing: a feast for the palate! We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended, a must-see!

07/06/2026: A very pleasant setting in a garden where the scent of jasmine accompanies the meal. The staff is very attentive. Disappointed by the size of my dessert, I ordered a second one. Without me even asking, it was offered to me free of charge. It's a family business where customer service remains a priority.
07/06/2026: Had a wonderful group dinner (±16 people) at La Mandragola in early May. Menu was pre-set by our hosts and allowed discovering pastas and Bistecca alla Fiorentina, paired with good wines! Service was excellent for such a large group, food came for everyone at same time, and everything was great. We did not leave hungry. We sat inside due to cool weather, but there is a nice outside patio that must be very nice in summer. I would return for sure, either as a group or just as a couple for a romatic evening under the stars. Hidden gem in San Gimignano!

16/03/2026: On Saturday, March 14, 2026, I found myself celebrating my birthday alone for the first time in my life. After careful research, I decided, despite the fact that I dislike and have difficulty being alone, to book a table at this restaurant, hoping to at least treat myself to a pleasant moment. However, I never imagined that this experience would soon become, quite literally, a true gift. Starting with the location, enchanting and private enough to put, even if only for that brief moment, a brake on the incessant pace of the serious lives and thoughts of everyone present at the table. Moving on to Claudio, the kind, courteous, and honest facilitator of this unforgettable journey, who, from the moment I arrived, as he does with every guest, put me at ease, giving me the feeling of having known him forever but, above all, of having finally arrived in a safe space protected by him. Concluding with the dishes I had the privilege of listening to, observing, and tasting. I remember each of these distinct yet interconnected experiences being so enchanting that the further I went, the more difficult it was to express in words my pleasure and amazement, prompting me to simply and magically enjoy everything that was happening to me. I won't go into further detail; I'll attach a few photos of this enchanting journey, and I thank Claudio and the entire staff once again for this unforgettable gift, which wasn't just a birthday present, but also, and most importantly, a life gift.
15/03/2026: As always, it never disappoints. One of my favorite restaurants. Yesterday's dinner was also top-notch. Galactic risotto.
