27/03/2025: Excellent trattoria with authentic traditional Roman dishes. Everything was delicious. We had coda alla vaccinara, puntarelle, artichokes alla romana, the inevitable rigatoni alla carbonara and tonnarelli cacio e pepe. There are still so many things that I want to try next time 😊 I highly recommend it

25/03/2025: So, what happened was that we initially planned to go to a popular restaurant recommended by foodie friends. However, the waiter there had a rather unfriendly attitude, and we didn’t feel like staying. We wandered through the narrow streets of Rome for a while and stumbled upon la Campana - the best thing that could have happened to us! A truly authentic, old-school Italian restaurant. We ordered fresh truffle pasta, tiramisu, and wine, and everything tasted absolutely amazing. We got exactly the genuine Italian restaurant and food experience we were looking for!

12/04/2025: This gem is so simple one might easily walk past, as it lacks the usual screaming frontages of many traditional Italian eateries. The service is warm and inviting, the outdoor terrace is open air but walled, providing intimacy with fresh air. The food is sumptuous. I ate the aubergine (eggplant) parmigiana to start and followed with a traditional cacio e pepe spaghetti with homemade pasta. The tiramisu to finish was rich without being too thick or heavy, and boasted its rich egg content by virtue of its bright yellow cream. It was easy to each lunch here with a 2 year old. They provided a high chair and were happy to change the cacio e pepe recipe to remove the pepe (pepper) and even made the pecorino cream less strong than for an adult. Verdict: highly recommend. Do not hesitate if you want beautiful food and genuine service without the tourist vibe.

06/04/2025: Ero già stata in questa trattoria due anni fa e sono tornata molto volentieri. L'atmosfera è quella tipica dei locali frequentati da turisti ma anche dai romani, cibo tipico della tradizione di buona qualità e in quantità abbondante, personale cordiale e professionale, prezzi nella media. Vicino alle principali attrazioni di Roma, a pochi passi da piazza di Spagna... ci tornerò sicuramente al mio prossimo viaggio nella Capitale

All in a clean environment, I recommend it for dinner, so that you can enjoy the excellent food refreshed by the famous Roman Ponente. 16/04/2025: Friendly and fast Besides being very kind, I had a problem with my ninety-year-old friend, who was struggling to get back to the bus to go home. Where the others in the group had gone, they immediately called me a taxi I don't know how much I spent because it was included in the 3 days scheduled by the Diocese to come to the Jubilee

13/04/2025: Excellent menu that combines the Roman gastronomic tradition with dishes from ancient Rome. Cozy place in a unique location like the Antica Via Appia. The owner's explanation about the mystery sauce and his anecdotes are an extra emotional touch.

12/04/2025: A must do when in Rome!!! The food and atmosphere was fantastic. We visited for lunch after touring the catacombs, and it was our favorite meal in Rome. 10/10

23/03/2025: A real "homemade" tavern that really has the taste of home. In addition to the delicious food, the real gem is Isabella who with her friendliness makes you leave with a smile. We will definitely be back!!

09/03/2025: We ate in this tavern by chance, they welcomed us with a bit of luck even without a reservation, there were two of us. We ate well, amazing bread, homemade fettuccine, equally delicious meatballs with sauce like grandma's, Mrs. Isabella was friendly and approachable. I will return with friends. Recommended!!!!

27/03/2025: Yes, it was good, the food was authentically Roman, delicious, but you should definitely make a reservation and you just have to wait until it opens (7:30 p.m. at the earliest).

26/03/2025: Locale facilmente raggiungibile grazie alla sua posizione in centro ed a due passi dalla Basilica di San Giovanni. Oltre che dentro al locale vero e proprio si può mangiare anche all’esterno… se il tempo lo permette. Il personale che vi riceve è molto cortese e professionale e sa consigliare al meglio la vostra esperienza culinaria. Il menù si rifà alla tradizione romana con qualche piccola variazione ma sicuramente con ottime materia prime e buona capacità nella preparazione delle pietanze. La lista dei vini è ampia e ben assortita tanto da soddisfare anche i palati più fini. La spesa si attesta nella media per locali di questa tipologia. In conclusione penso che ci ritornerò volentieri.

18/04/2025: It was our last night in Rome. We had 16 people and Coso accepted our big party. They made it the most memorable night for us. The owner (I think) made us feel welcomed and recommended their best dishes. Our kids were loud but he made them happy. Food was delicious. He topped us off with free dessert and homemade lemon shots. They were fantastic! What a great ending to this trip. Thank you Coso!

11/04/2025: I give 1 star only for the food; we received detestable service from ONLY ONE waiter inside the restaurant who had inappropriate and bad behavior towards us.

22/03/2025: Booked the same day...lucky because it was all full...we start with fried artichokes (8pcs) made on the spot very good... carbinara....really well cooked and abundant...we continue with meatballs in sauce...excellent 3 slices of bread serve as a minimum.. We close with a pear and ricotta cake...(not among the best). Price in line...I point out the young waiter who with his smile made the service more pleasant

23/03/2025: This was a great find just off the main streets and close to the Opera House. The staff are amazing and I encourage you to order the house recommendations not on the menu. Outdoor and garden sitting is a plus.

19/03/2025: Clearly a popular spot at the queue was out into the street when we arrived. Luckily we had booked! Service was great, wine selection very good and food delicious. Would highly recommend!!!
