Il Ciociaro In Roma

Some of the best food I have ever had in my life!!! The food was so good we came back three times during our trip to Rome. The carbonara was absolutely phenomenal! I'll be recommended this place to everyone I know traveling to Rome!

REAL Review: We just visited Rome for the first time (my fiancées second time). We ate at Il Ciociaro 3 times in 6 nights… After a few restaurants that we were told online were not “tourist traps”, we finally sat down at this authentic, clean, and high quality restaurant and came back multiples times because of how good it truly is. Here are my highlights: The food is impeccable- we tried the following: carbonara, spaghetti w/ meatballs, tagliatelle w/ porcini mushrooms, veal Milanese, sliced ribeye w/ mushrooms, Burrata w/ pears, honey and orange zest, eggplant appetizer, and the tiramisu Every dish we tried was outstanding and would 100% get again. If I had to pick three to highlight (feels impossible) I would say the Carbonara, Sliced Ribeye w/ mushrooms, and Veal Milanese were absolute 10/10s. Oh and please get the table side tiramisu. It is amazing!!! But this restaurant is not just about the food. The restaurant has an atmosphere that feels both traditional and modern at the time. With a classic feel, the restaurant is also extremely clean and has air conditioning pumping throughout which was great for the hot weather we experience during our late July stay. The biggest highlight had to be the service. Please ask for Sam if you are there!!! He was an outstanding waiter who provided above and beyond service for my family and I. He took care of us all three nights we ate there and each night brought us something “on the house” including cookies and a pizza focaccia appetizer. Overall, this restaurant is a 10 out of 10 and firmly my favorite restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at. That is all while having many not so great dining experiences in Rome in the same week. I cannot wait to return one day. Thank you so much Il Ciociaro team!!!

Excellent food, welcoming atmosphere and very kind staff

A true Italian family owned restaurant. Great service and amazing food.

A phenomenal place near St. Peter's Square, about a 15-minute walk away. The place is intimate, welcoming, and tastefully decorated. The waiters are extremely kind, and the table service is attentive and, dare I say, quite spectacular. The amatriciana was simply incredible, the cacio e pepe was incredible, and the artichokes were indescribable. Hats off, really. They make the tiramisu on the spot with homemade ladyfingers and mascarpone cream, and it was simply fantastic. There's not much else to add, highly recommended. Word of a Northern Italian who, modestly, knows a thing or two about quality. GO THERE!

Very good food. Especially the calcio e pepe pasta. Interestingly served. We were in a hurry, and the service was very helpful and efficient. The waiters were very nice. I recommend this place!

Great food and dining experience.

We stopped here for a family lunch. The food is truly high-quality and the staff is welcoming. The atmosphere is clean and tidy. We'll be back.

We discovered this small place and impressed by the authentic food and atmosphere right near the Metro station Ottaviano. The vegetarian selection was decent, Syrah wine was good and Tiramisu tableside was fun to watch. Artichokes were flavorful. Highlight was the Bruschetta, with the delicious cheese.
