I'm revising this review for the second time, making it significantly better. I went during COVID and found it disappointing, but then, following friends, I returned and changed my opinion; in fact, I go often now. The staff is fast, the main courses are varied and are good and plentiful. The atmosphere could use a refresh—not a complete overhaul, because that would lose its authenticity, but an intervention. It's a place that doesn't sway towards social media, doesn't ask to be photographed, and in fact, it's always full of people enjoying themselves and enjoying the company of others.

A welcoming, family-friendly trattoria with generous portions of excellent Roman cuisine. The suckling pig and oxtail stew are wonderful. If you're in Rome, make sure to stop by the Prenestina neighborhood!

Exceptional cuisine, a family atmosphere, and staff always available to answer any questions! The first courses are generous and delicious, Domenico's pizza is amazing, and the homemade tiramisu is priceless! Highly recommended!

Da Domenico was our go-to spot during our 10 days in the neighborhood. The atmosphere, the warm welcome and humor of the staff, along with the generous and delicious portions, transformed our restaurant meals into "home-style" dining experiences. In short, we recommend it 200%!

Ristorante Pizzeria San Cosimato

09/05/2026: Excellent, plentiful, and traditional food in a non-touristy setting. The waiter was friendly and professional, just like in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Highly recommended (by Romans).
02/05/2026: The experience was excellent. The place is very rustic and traditional. The pasta was excellent and the service very good. We arrived from the airport late at night and this was our first contact with Italy. Without a doubt, we were well received and the staff were attentive. For our last lunch, I asked them to pack up my dish so I could take it to my room. This wasn't their usual practice and they refused, but after speaking with the owner and explaining that my daughter was ill, she authorized them to prepare a "take away".

17/05/2026: Visiting as a tourist and had high hopes given good reviews and recommendations… Nice location on a less busy street and friendly staff. But food disappointed, the carbonara was served more room temperature than warm, and guanciale was more chewy than crispy. Asparagus seemed a little under seasoned and meatballs were pretty dense and firm. Maybe it was an off night, but ate better for less money during my visit to Rome.
16/05/2026: Food's not very good but it was expensive. Don't eat the fish you'll get rubber.
