04/11/2025: We went for dinner today. We ordered 3 pizzas, a carbonara, a salad and some soft drinks. We had to ask twice for cutlery since we were ignored initially. The drinks came straight away, the pasta after 30 min. The salad took an hour after asking and realising they had not even taken the order and asking again… the pizzas never came after an hour and having asked more than 3 times to different staff members. We ended up leaving after paying for the soft drinks, salad and pasta. (“Insalata mista” means exclusively lettuce, if you ask)

04/11/2025: We went out for dinner tonight. We ordered three pizzas, a carbonara, a salad, and soft drinks. We had to ask for cutlery twice because one of us was missing some. The drinks arrived quickly, but the pasta took 30 minutes. The mixed salad was just a bowl full of whatever lettuce they sell at the supermarket. It took an hour to arrive, after we asked about the food because the pizzas hadn't arrived yet. The pizzas never arrived, even though we asked three times. I understand they're busy, but there were tables that arrived later and left before us. I can't really comment on the food; I only ate a handful of lettuce. We finally left after paying for the drinks, the carbonara, and the "mixed salad." And I still don't understand what service they charged us for, honestly. What a shame.

09/10/2025: Since I was 16, every time I go to Rome, I stop at Augustarello for lunch. Over these 10 years, the quality has remained consistently high. A portion of the menu is dedicated solely to the quintessential Roman cuisine, and that's true. So much culinary tradition, which in more central locations is diminishing in favor of more touristy menus. I've also noticed a lovely atmosphere in the kitchen, almost open to the public, very organized, and even quiet. Augustarello, thank you for being here for these 10 years, and hopefully for 100 more!

07/10/2025: We had a wonderful meal at this resturant. It was like we were dining in someones home. The waitresses were very friendly and gave good suggestions. Highly recommend for a good traditional Italian meal.

09/10/2025: Terrible experience. Good food - OK But the owner is very rude. We sat at a table and he threw a tantrum at us because it was reserved. But there was no warning. I don't recommend it 😡

02/10/2025: We paid €50 per person for an appetizer, Roman first course, and dessert! The semi-agreed menu was around €35-40! I wouldn't recommend it.

23/09/2025: The restaurant has a touristy feel. Unfortunately, I didn't find any quality in the dishes I ate. The mozzarella is the standard kind you find at the supermarket. The prosciutto is also of modest quality. Even the tiramisu reminded me of the one from the refrigerated section of the supermarket. It has that sweet flavor that doesn't let you taste the coffee. One of the worst tiramisu I've ever had in a restaurant. Fettuccine with tomato sauce was even too ordinary. No wow factor. The grilled meat was good. But perhaps it's better to get a Florentine steak, which is actually a half Florentine. And anyway, I've had much better meat at other restaurants. The moral of the story is that perhaps a tourist might enjoy it, but a more discerning customer might be disappointed. It's a shame because the restaurant is large inside and has a beautiful fireplace that should be better utilized with more types of meat.

22/09/2025: A historic restaurant in Tivoli. I went there for dinner with friends but wasn't very impressed, perhaps because I had fairly high expectations. I ordered the amatriciana, which, however, lacked character, although it's still a good dish. The mixed grilled meats were good, but not quite excellent. The quality-price ratio was average for this type of restaurant, perhaps just a little overpriced for the quality and quantity offered. It's definitely a reliable restaurant, but I expected something better.

08/10/2025: Da Carlone was recommended to us by a local tour guide and we are so glad it was!!! It was the best pasta we had in Rome! We ordered two pasta dishes. Huge serving sizes and absolutely delicious. Amazing wine. Beautiful family run restaurant.

07/10/2025: We ate at one of the best carboneras in the world. In addition to the authentic food, the waiters, their service, and their recommendations were very honest and accurate. The portions are huge without sacrificing any quality.

16/10/2025: Pleasant place, isolated from road noise. Very friendly staff, who don't speak English right away! Thanks! Delicious porcini mushroom risotto, not to mention the pieces of focaccia.

14/10/2025: This is exactly what I expected when I went to a Roman trattoria: a welcoming place, friendly staff (Billy is exceptional), a rich and varied menu, and delicious food! Incredible? Experience it and you'll come back. I'm counting down the days until my next visit to Rome. Thank you for what an incredible moment!

12/10/2025: Amazing food throughout the evening! Loved every course and the drinks were amazing. The only thing I personally did not like from this place was the Tiramisu. Everything else was perfect.

01/10/2025: We are in one of the very few places that still preserve Roman cuisine, family-run, extremely courteous, it is a must to spend time with the father present at all the tables, as soon as prompted he will tell you anecdotes of Roman life and customers who have passed away (Aldo Fabrizi for example), of the same good nature of the father you will also find the son, the mother cook... in the kitchen, fantastic food, I recommend, but everything is excellent, the fried anchovies.. in batter, and the tripe, like the cod.... in short.... EVERYTHING

17/09/2025: A very delicious restaurant! The atmosphere is truly lovely in the evenings, as everything is a bit darker and the lighting creates a pleasant ambiance. The value for money is also excellent – ​​highly recommended.

16/09/2025: My girlfriend and I ordered the tasting menu. Good service, staff speaks english very well. (My Italian is bad) and that was a nice bonus. The appetizers were nice, no Meatballs, but the substitute aubergine was a very nice replacement. We did end up waiting a long time between appetizer and pasta course, almost a full hour. I ordered the rigatoni… nothing to write home about. The bacon bits were very dry and chewy. My girlfriend ordered the carbonara, which was very eggy. Never had anything like it, not necessarily in a good way. The meat dishes were very disappointing. I ordered the roast lamb, no seasoning, no real flavor aside from meat. I could have mistaken it for turkey or ham. The greens were soggy and stringy. Not delicious. My girlfriend ordered the beef cheek. Also not appetizing, the side of potatoes were not delicious either. Desert was alright, riccotta cheese with cherry sauce. 3/5 personally but your taste may vary. Ultimately the weakest dining experience in our 7-day stay in Italy. Quite disappointed.

23/10/2025: A fantastic experience for the taste buds! All the flavors of Roman cuisine in the dishes we ordered... Gricia deserves applause, but a standing ovation for the zucca all'uccelletto, grandma's recipe... and the rest... what can I say? The service was prompt, but the waiter (who was incredibly friendly) spoke like a machine gun and would disappear in a flash even if you didn't understand a thing! The price was in line with expectations. Definitely worth trying again on your next visit to Rome.

20/10/2025: Renovated since the last time I was there, it feels more modern. The food is always excellent, from appetizers to dessert (honorable mention for the mascarpone cream). The service is courteous, patient, and accommodating, especially considering we were four adults with two small girls and a baby. The prices aren't cheap, but they're reasonable.

The menu features an outstanding selection of homemade antipasti, fresh pastas, and beautifully prepared meat dishes — all showcasing the quality and tradition of Italian cuisine. The wine list offers an excellent range of moderately priced bottles that pair perfectly with the food. Everything we tried was exceptional, with the only slight disappointment being the lamb chops. Overall, a wonderful meal and excellent value for the quality offered. Highly recommended for those seeking genuine Roman flavors in a refined setting.

30/10/2025: It was the best restaurant we've ever been to! We're staying at the Westin, and the concierge recommended this place to us. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and mostly frequented by locals. The waiter, very kind and professional, recommended some exceptional dishes: we had artichokes, cacio e pepe (the house specialty), fettuccine al ragù, tiramisu, and the best millefeuille in the world. Everything was top-notch. It was the most delicious meal we've had in Italy. When we return to Rome, we'll definitely come back!

11/10/2025: 50 euros for a starter on the side, a cut of meat so tough that the beef was probably killed at Waterloo with Napoleon's French, and a glass of wine filled with an eyedropper as if it were eye drops, seemed like a steal to me... never again...

27/09/2025: The food was good, even my husband, who has a picky palate, enjoyed it. The place is clean and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Simone, the waiter, was friendly and professional. We'll be back.
