17/12/2025: This is a generous four star rating. Our hotel nearby recommended Vladimiro, and we expected fine dining based on the description provided to us. Unfortunately, while a pleasant location, our expectations were not met and we ended up being disappointed. I would have otherwise skipped this establishment had I known and not made a reservation in advance; having felt obligated to stay once we were shown to our table and being immediately served with their gratis house bruschetta. The food was okay, but not delicious, relatively uninspired, and completely unseasoned, granted they provide both a salt and a pepper grinder on the table. The service was slow but thankfully the staff was extremely courteous. From what we could tell, at least during dinner service, the patrons were mostly tourists and local business people, attorneys, etc.. Overall the restaurant was just not very good, in my humble opinion. It seems that the restaurant is a "safe choice", with a sprawling menu, and willingness to accommodate substitutions or omission, which is welcome by many and relatively uncommon in Italy, but my overall impression was that this is a relatively mediocre traditional Roman restaurant. I wish I had trusted my instincts and gone elsewhere for a special meal on our last full night in Rome. But, alas, most Americans seem not to know the difference and think this place is great (we spoke to other American tourists who had been here multiple nights in a row and loved it). Absolutely not worth the visit if you're looking for high Italian cuisine. Only the courtesy of the staff saves this place. Looking for fine dinning? Skip Vladimiro. It's a shame too, because the food looked vibrant and well executed, but alas it was soulless and lacking flavor or seasoning; very possibly a compromise to accommodate the many tourist patrons. For nearly similar and even lower prices, we had infinitely better food elsewhere at other, more traditional local restaurants in Rome. We paid over 100 euros for carpaccio, which actually turned out to be a form of marinated bresaola completely contrary to our expectations, as well as tortellini, veal scallopini (particularly disappointing), and lamb chops (the lamb was actually quite good, albeit unseasoned), in addition to a reasonable bottle of wine. This restaurant is just okay, and not the best by any measure. But, I understand why certain people find it enjoyable and charming. My standards are likely just a bit too high and I don't mean to offend. If you intend to only stay in the neighborhood or within a few blocks of a nearby hotel, I suppose this is a good choice for you.

09/12/2025: The service was impeccable. The host explained the dishes to us with care and precision. His descriptions were so vivid that we could already imagine each course before even ordering and then seeing it arrive at the table. Everything was very good. Highly recommended.

13/11/2025: On the first evening of our Roman holiday, we arrived at Giardino d'Abruzzo, recommended by the manager of the B&B where we were staying. We didn't have any particular expectations, but instead... simple, good food, with a wide range of options. The first night we tried the fish, which was delicious; the next night the pizza, Roman-style—thin, crispy, and easily digestible; tonight's special was the artichoke and clams. Prices were absolutely reasonable, the wait staff were extremely kind and efficient, and the owner was always attentive. Last night, they opened a second room just for us, so we dined undisturbed and enjoyed Sinner's tennis court. Not to mention the crucial parking service, without which you'd be tempted to go further because there's no place like that in that area. We feel at home now. Thank you so much to all the staff!

19/10/2025: There's Love and Passion I was invited to this place by a friend who knows the chef. The appetizer was a delicious breaded parmigiana skewer, an onion ring, and an eggplant meatball with a side of hummus. The first course was polenta with sparerib sauce, and spareribs and sausages inside were enviable! The welcome was top-notch! I immediately felt at ease and pampered. Since all the dishes are freshly made and not pre-cooked or prepared in advance, considering the place was full both inside and outside at the few tables on a small balcony overlooking Rome, we waited a bit before sampling these lovingly prepared and meticulously served dishes. The place, located in a narrow alley in the historic center, is simple, with wooden tables and warm-colored walls. It's welcoming and characterized by the presence of 27 ceramic tureens; I think it retains its original appearance, with its high ceiling and thick walls. The recommended wine is pleasant on the palate, and I also recommend making a reservation to access the restaurant for both lunch and dinner: you won't regret it!

16/11/2025: The polenta is really good, at least the one I tried with sauce, ribs, and sausage. The fish dishes are also high-quality. The service is attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Prices are average.

09/12/2025: We booked Da Vittorio partly because of the positive reviews, but we weren't particularly impressed with the restaurant. The place is very small, and given the huge number of tourists, it's always best to book to avoid long lines. The service is friendly, and the wait isn't particularly long. The menu is typically Roman, with a variety of traditional dishes. The appetizers, both the fried ones and the platter, were good, but the pasta was decidedly overcooked. Desserts are classic, with various versions of tiramisu. Prices are average for the Trastevere neighborhood.

The prices are absolutely fair for the location—just steps from the Pantheon—especially in a tourist hotspot. We ate there as a family of four with two small children, and the kids loved it too. 19/12/2025: Great spot with good food and unbeatable prices. Every single person in the dining room was Italian and food reflected it. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Not life changing but great choice if you are visiting the Vatican or local museums

11/12/2025: We tried some pasta dishes and all failed, the food was underwhelming including fried tasteless artichoke pieces. A class of red table wine was too terrible to drink more than a gulp.

30/11/2025: A delightful Roman restaurant with a few modern twists in the heart of Mandrione. It's truly difficult to find fault: the cuisine is exemplary, with top-quality ingredients, bold and convincing dishes, very attentive service, and a winning price. Finally, after several months of trying to book a table (the restaurant is always full given the quality), we were able to appreciate the restaurant's authentic cuisine. The slow-cooked suckling pig is delicious, the Roman pasta dishes are magnificent, and the wine and spirits are excellent. The desserts, both traditional and otherwise, are also very good. The restaurant is small, with two indoor dining rooms and a few outdoor seats, where you can still eat in peace, given the area's heavy traffic. The location is spartan, themed after the restaurant's name, simply furnished but very welcoming. The service is very courteous, attentive, and helpful, starting with the owner, Federico, who is always present and knows how to immediately put guests at ease. Prices are commensurate with the high-quality slow food experience. Highly recommended.

18/10/2025: We were there tonight and had a wonderful time. We tried both meat and seafood appetizers, both rich and delicious. We recommend their eggplant, it's among the best we've ever had, truly unique. The first courses are delicious and the portions are generous. The carbonara is excellent (it's hard to find places that still make it properly), and the sour cherry tartlet is also excellent. The atmosphere is quiet, pleasant, and relaxing. The service is fast, and the waiter is extremely knowledgeable and professional. The owner is very friendly. Highly recommended restaurant in Genzano.

24/11/2025: Expectations were high for a traditional Roman dinner, but the experience at this restaurant proved uneven, with service issues and a few quality lapses. The first sour note came with the first courses: despite having ordered the Amatriciana with classic bucatini, we were offered, due to the restaurant's crowds, the option of mezze maniche to avoid an excessive wait. The mezze maniche all'Amatriciana, the Gricia, and the Cacio e Pepe were overall good, but honestly, I've had better and more memorable dishes during my visits to Rome. The worst came with the second course service. After a long wait and a reminder, our dishes were served about 45 minutes late, suggesting our order had been misplaced. The quality didn't make up for the wait: the lamb was too bony and lacking in meat. The grilled steak was average, neither good nor bad, and the pork chop was not particularly noteworthy in terms of flavor or preparation. The experience ended with further disappointment with the desserts. After asking the waiter for a list of available desserts and ordering, we were informed that the desserts we had chosen were actually sold out. It would be appropriate for the staff to check availability before misleading customers. The price was average for the area, but it doesn't justify the poor service. Finally, we found the owner to be overly intrusive, with jokes and manners that weren't always welcome or appropriate. There's room for improvement both in terms of service management and customer service.

03/11/2025: A very quaint, family-run restaurant with Roman food that tastes homemade. The waiters are incredibly attentive and kind; they replaced my dish without hesitation when I mentioned something about it, and even made several attempts to speak in Spanish or English to communicate with my parents, who don't speak Italian. I will definitely be back very soon, eager to try more of their delicious menu. Simply magnificent!
