A place with an authentic, traditional, and historic flavor, the kind that seems to have remained faithful to the Rome of old. Tasty Roman cuisine, simple but well-made, without chasing fads. It was an unusual and unexpected discovery, one of those places you stumble upon almost by chance and whose authenticity stays with you forever.

A traditional osteria tucked away from the crowds. Beautiful food and lovely service at a great price.

Homemade food and very good, highly recommended osteria, preferably with a reservation as it has quite limited capacity

An incredible first taste of local cuisine. Some of the best pasta carbonara I've ever had, with homemade pasta, no cream, and delicious bacon. They also had a very good cheesecake. I ate my fill for 20 euros. Not bad at all.

Highly recommended! An authentic restaurant with delicious food. I recommend the Spezzatino, which are also pictured. Everyone speaks Italian and you feel right at home.

A guarantee over the years... I have been going there sporadically since 2000 and it has never disappointed me.

If you go to Rome and don't eat at Giovanni's, you'll never experience the authentic taste of good, traditional Roman cuisine...

Small and cozy place. It's like stepping back in time. The dishes are generous.

We went there three times within a week, "working through" the small, straightforward menu from top to bottom (sorry for the language) every evening... along with excellent house wine, grappa, espresso... what can I say? Perfect!
Very small, few seats, authentic service... we felt comfortable among the almost exclusively Italian guests, almost like we were at home in our mother's kitchen. Nothing mainstream at all; Rome remains a fond memory for me, based on my three evenings at Da Giovanni alone.
