12/03/2026: Excellent fish restaurant with fresh ingredients. It's a delight; you'd think you were on the Adriatic coast. The restaurant is popular with many people from Aosta. The prices are very reasonable.

07/03/2026: The food here is very good, especially the fish, which is delivered fresh. I recommend the fish; the peppered mussels are delicious, but a bit spicy. The meat was also good; I also ordered the grilled meat, which is generally recommended, and the house wine was also good.

07/04/2026: I spent Easter Monday with friends at Ristoro dello Scoiattolo. The menu was excellent, the food and service were excellent!

05/04/2026: Excellent and very intimate restaurant in the center of Cogne. For two, we only had the fondue chinoise and skipped the appetizers because the fondue is already quite generous. The meat, marinated with salt, rosemary, and lots of garlic, was excellent. Highly recommended.

04/04/2026: Excellent dinner, as always, compliments to Marco and Susanna and their staff. The menu offers plenty of choices. The tuna and rabbit and shrimp carpaccio were excellent. The lamb and the ravioli del plin with shrimp were also delicious. Excellent selection of desserts, it was hard to choose 🤭 Congratulations and keep up the good work!

22/03/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at Le Vigneron restaurant in Arciere was decidedly negative. From the start, we were served an appetizer "on the house," but without a clear explanation of the ingredients. Only after tasting it did I discover that the pepper flan contained anchovies, a fact that had not been disclosed at all. As a vegetarian, I found myself eating something I would never have voluntarily chosen, and I found this truly unprofessional. I also had doubts about the freshness of the homemade bread, which was rather stale. The sautéed vegetables were clearly overcooked, lacking in texture or flavor. The vegetable ravioli, however, were probably the low point of the dinner: completely tasteless, with an undefined filling (impossible to determine which vegetables were in it), and topped with a heavy, unpleasant cream, similar to a mix of béchamel and cream—truly unpleasant. To top it all off, I had a stomach upset that night after dinner, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, a disappointing dinner in many ways: little attention to dietary needs, questionable quality of preparation, and poorly prepared dishes.

10/04/2026: We returned to this restaurant for a quick lunch before leaving because we had had a very good dinner a few days earlier... This time I had the favò which is basically a short pasta with fresh broad beans and Fontina cheese, very good but a little heavy... my friend had a fillet with green pepper and very tender meat... finally we shared a tart with chocolate, chestnut jam and marron glacé

08/04/2026: I came for dinner. The food was excellent. The best panna cotta I've ever had. I ordered the tripe with beans, and it was delicious. The experience was also very welcoming because the staff was very attentive. They also had the menu in several languages, with detailed descriptions of the ingredients, which made choosing easier.

06/04/2026: We set off from the Barmasc parking lot and walked through the woods along the stream until we reached the spot. We took a few minutes to enjoy the view and rest, then ordered our meal. We ate it on the lounge chairs overlooking Monte Rosa. The experience, food, and location were wonderful! Definitely worth a try!

There's no written menu; you eat what's brought to you with a smile, drink good wine, and be transported straight to the local customs. Well done, Angie! 10/09/2025: It's a great blessing to be able to find such a restaurant—authentic in the best sense of the word. Real people, real hospitality, and real food. A truly simple and rustic ambiance. But Angie's relaxed warmth prepares you for the consistently impeccable quality of all the food and drinks. Every course is a reminder of the qualities that "Mother's kitchen" used to have. Everything is based on regional ingredients, skillfully and unpretentiously prepared on the wood-fired stove. I've visited several Michelin-starred restaurants, but I've never left one as satisfied and completely happy as this cantina. The fact that the price to be paid for such a delightful evening in a Michelin-starred restaurant would barely cover dessert is just a footnote. Thank you for your hospitality, Angie

30/03/2026: An intimate restaurant with meticulous attention to detail in a truly remarkable location. I would have liked to try more dishes, but the prices (though still reasonable for the location) didn't allow for it. The lard in the antipasto con moccetta was remarkable; it truly melted in the mouth. The pappardelle with wild boar ragù was very good, but would have looked better on a ceramic plate than in a pan, where it seemed sparse in quantity. The house mint-based digestif was excellent. There was nothing to complain about the quality of the service or the kindness of the waiters, absolutely worthy of the place.

21/03/2026: Today we went to Nando's for lunch: it was a truly excellent experience. There was truly nothing out of place: the bread, breadsticks, wine, and dishes were all top-quality. The staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable: they don't just serve, they guide you through the food and drink, even sharing the history of the products. This added value makes all the difference. The place is small, but precisely for this reason, attention to detail is paramount; the choice to have limited seating is absolutely spot on if the goal is to maintain such a high standard. Considering the quality of the food, the prices are more than fair: when you want to eat well, it's only right to recognize its value.

20/03/2026: What can I say, an institution! If you're coming here thinking "I don't know what to eat," you've come to the wrong place. For 50 years, Marina has only been making polenta concia with stew and Valdostan soup with mixed grill, and there's no better place in the entire valley to eat soup! No frills, no frills, just authentic Valdostan food and excellent food! A must-visit if you're in the Ayas Valley.
