05/10/2025: A beautiful cup of coffee and a small treat of a biscuit was very welcoming. The lady, who I think may have been the owner, was delightful. A great morning coffee before heading off for a walk in Pontboset. Thank you for a stunning experience.

07/01/2026: A truly positive experience. We were warmly welcomed by the owner couple, who are truly kind, helpful, and attentive. The breakfast is simple but offers little homemade gems, like their wonderful yogurt, which is truly special. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept. The only small flaw is the location, a bit uphill from the center of La Thuile, but this is easily solved thanks to the shuttle service that passes very close by and is really convenient.

28/12/2025: We stopped by on our way back from the mountains, intrigued by the excellent reviews. Excellent hot chocolate, not the fake (albeit good) Cameo kind. Good selection of pastries, not to eat in or take away. They also have a vending machine selling their homemade treats outside.

24/12/2025: A small pastry shop where everything is made with care. I recommend the apples and the pear and chocolate panettone. Excellent.

15/08/2025: We spent 3 nights in this charming, newly renovated hotel. Very, very beautiful decor, pleasant rooms and a young, very welcoming team who spoke French. We highly recommend it to those who want to spend a few days to see the 4000m area and the Matterhorn....even if the Cervinia resort is not very beautiful in the summer.

15/11/2025: Delicious cooked to perfection local food, beautiful atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. We had one of the polentas for primo between two, and then stinco di maiale and the cervo for secondo, so so delicious and well cooked. Impressive wine list and waiter was super helpful and knowledgeable assisting us to choose a local wine. Make sure you book your table, I wouldn't want to miss this place if I'm in Aosta!

05/10/2025: We found it by chance during a motorcycle tour in the Aosta Valley, where we enjoyed the region's specialties: crostini with Arnad lard and carbonada. Everything was excellent, and the prices were reasonable.

10/01/2026: As soon as I dined at the Trattoria, I can't help but leave positive feedback for the excellent dinner, the very friendly waiters, and the very welcoming atmosphere. Even though I'm from Rome and just passing through, I immediately felt at ease. The prices are also fair; highly recommended.

05/01/2026: Spectacular food, but the service is managed by a single person. The wait was very long, with no flexibility: while we were still waiting for the first course, we asked for a second course and were told that we'd end up in line at all the other tables, so we decided against it.

28/01/2026: Hotel Castor is honestly the best place we have ever stayed. It is incredibly warm and cosy, and the staff are completely out of this world — nothing was ever too much trouble. We are a family of four (two adults and two children aged 5 and 7) and stayed at Hotel Castor for a week’s skiing. Our room was lovely, cosy, and spotlessly clean. The food was incredible, and the staff genuinely bend over backwards to do absolutely everything for you. There is a free transfer to the gondola, even though it’s only about a 10-minute walk. You simply phone, and they come straight to pick you up! The restaurant staff were so friendly, and we were even given big hugs at the end of our holiday — it truly felt like family. The hotel is family-run, and you can really feel how much love and care the family put into the place and their guests. The bar area is perfect for relaxing with a drink, a cup of tea, or a book after a long day on the slopes. An added bonus for families is the playroom next to the bar. Don’t worry if you don’t have children — you can’t hear them! Our kids happily played for a couple of hours before dinner each evening, leaving us parents to enjoy some quiet adult time. Hermon, the owner, is amazing — hosting wine tastings, music nights (every Tuesday), picking guests up from the slopes, and then later pouring your wine in the evening. He truly seems to be everywhere! We cannot recommend Hotel Castor highly enough. We would love to return in the summer and cannot wait to see you all again. x

26/02/2026: A cozy family restaurant run by a lovely young couple and their wonderful son Gabriel, a boy of about ten who proudly helps his parents, which makes the whole place feel even more special and heartfelt. During our vacation, we visited this restaurant four times, it truly is the best! The prices are very reasonable, and the menu offers a huge variety of pizzas. We ordered pizza twice, and it was absolutely incredible. Out of all our travels around Italy, this is probably our favorite place. Besides pizza, they offer a wide selection of traditional local dishes from Aosta. The beef fillet steak with cheese sauce was unbelievably tender and literally melted in my mouth. Even though I usually prefer grilled meat without any sauces, because I believe a good steak should stand on its own, in this case the cheese sauce complemented it perfectly and enhanced its flavor beautifully. The spaghetti with clams and caviar sauce was also extraordinary. We will definitely come back again. Thank you to the owners for your warm hospitality!

06/01/2026: We came here for pizza and we were not disappointed. The pizza is thin and delicious. Service is very fast :) if you come in winter ask to be seated away from the door or you'll freeze!
