07/12/2025: Excellent location, welcoming atmosphere, kind and helpful staff, food without comment, worth trying.

16/09/2025: A truly charming and welcoming place with an open-view cheese and cured meat pantry. The platter of local cheeses and cured meats, the Stracotto, and the Rösti and Potatoes platter are excellent. I highly recommend it.

29/09/2025: Excellent in every way... not close to the main road, you have to climb a long way up to get to the restaurant, but it's definitely worth it. The atmosphere is sublime, peaceful and tranquil. The classic mountain setting with wooden furnishings and inlaid wood objects made by the owner's father make the place even more welcoming. The owner is friendly and welcoming. Authentic food, local dishes, excellent polenta concia and lardo... what can I say... divine!!

16/11/2025: Located on Aosta's main street, this small, very charming place inside. The exterior is less well-maintained. We had craft beer and a spritz at Genepì: the beer was excellent, the spritz a little less so. As for the food: a plate of cured meats (very good and unique) and cheeses (very few, just three small pieces) (€13) and a sandwich (this one really delicious) (€7.50). The final bill was a bit high (the platter/board made our bill rise slightly above what we considered a "fair" price). Frankly, I wouldn't return. UPDATE AFTER THE OWNER'S RESPONSE: I had given it three stars, but after the owner's response (which was RUDE, especially considering my review was written in a calm tone, unlike hers), I'm changing my rating. I should also point out that I was objective, indicating what I liked and what I didn't, without limiting myself to the negative aspects I noted. In response to this (I would say more than balanced) comment, I read an overly rude and polemical response simply because I dared to say I wouldn't return to this place (a legitimate choice, in my opinion, regardless of the fact that I expressed positive comments about some of the products served, and this demonstrates my intellectual honesty). I understand restaurateurs who react vehemently when they receive exaggerated criticism (that's their job, and they rightly demand respect), but my review wasn't disrespectful at all, and therefore didn't deserve such a rude response simply because I limited myself to saying that, as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't return. (Because, while it's true that I made positive comments, I also said—albeit in my usual polite tone, downplaying the matter—that a €50 bill for two beers, a Spritz, a meager platter, and a sandwich seems excessive to me.) I won't fall for the provocation of a rude owner, and I won't be equally rude, but I still feel I must say that, in my opinion, anyone who can't take criticism, even when it's as calm as mine, should consider hospitality (not surprisingly, in English) not for them. FURTHER UPDATE: After my first update, the owner edited his response, removing the most "rude" parts (for obvious "image" reasons). This second update is intended solely to highlight that this "step back" unequivocally demonstrates that the manager's previous tone was so "outrageous" that it even led to self-censorship. I'm sorry, but the step back is too late (the insults—because they were insults—about the "quality of my work," which the restaurateur doesn't even know about) are too serious to be wiped away with a sponge (which is also unfair: I've only ever UPDATED my review, never deleted sections deemed "inconvenient" too late).

13/07/2025: Très beau restaurant, décor soigné. La cuisine est raffinée et le choix des vins intéressant. Le service est moyen car le sourire ne semble pas être la marque du lieu. Néanmoins, si vous logez dans le village ou dans la forteresse, c’est ce restaurant qu’il faut choisir.

14/09/2025: A refuge with a beautiful view! Friendly staff, just a slight criticism regarding the meals and their quantities, where all your plates are prepared and there's no option to refill if there's more leftovers. Otherwise, nothing to complain about 😊

17/10/2025: First time at Le Sapin. Everything was delicious, from the sautéed porcini mushrooms to the fillet steak in Barolo. Service was prompt but not intrusive. The diners were polite and interesting. We'll definitely be back.

10/09/2025: Champoluc's main street. Restaurant with a menu I chose, typical Aosta Valley fare, including a lard and honey appetizer, Aosta Valley soup, and marron glacé and rum dessert! Friendly staff, but since it's 9:30 pm... a bit tired from the evening. Book on Thursdays for Saturday dinner!!! Always full! Excellent Aosta Valley wine, Fumin: full-bodied.

11/08/2025: Extremely disappointing stay and worrying lack of security and respect I stayed at this hotel hoping to have a pleasant stay, but the experience turned into a nightmare. During my absence, I had the very unpleasant surprise of discovering that my luggage had been searched. The arrangement of my belongings had clearly been altered, and some personal belongings had been moved. This type of situation is deeply shocking and unacceptable, especially in a hotel that is supposed to offer comfort and security to its guests. When I reported the problem to the reception desk, the staff's reaction was more than disappointing. No clear explanation was given, and management didn't seem to take the situation seriously. Instead of trying to understand or reassure me, I felt as if my words were being minimized, or even doubted. This lack of professionalism is unworthy of a hotel that claims to welcome its guests in good conditions. A hotel isn't just a place to sleep; it's also a place where you should be able to leave your belongings in peace. Here, trust was completely broken. I felt unsafe for the rest of my stay, forced to guard my personal belongings and fearing for their safety. This ruined my trip and prevented me from enjoying my time there. In summary, I strongly advise against this establishment to anyone who values privacy, the security of their belongings, and a minimum of consideration from the staff. There are many other hotels that, for the same price or less, will treat their guests with honesty, professionalism, and respect. For my part, this is the last time I'll set foot here.

17/08/2025: A refined and welcoming atmosphere, with a relaxed vibe that invites you to enjoy the moment. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling, attentive to the needs of their guests. The dishes are beautifully presented, plentiful, and of excellent quality, made with fresh ingredients. Excellent value. Recommended for both a quiet dinner and a special lunch.
