13/11/2025: We had a good pizza, and the staff were very friendly. The place isn't big, but it's very well-kept. I recommend it.

31/10/2025: Delicious pizza, well-cooked and light. I really appreciated both the well-seasoned and well-measured passata and the freshness of the vegetables on the ortolana. The place is small but charming and tastefully decorated.

15/12/2025: We sat down (two of us) at a table inside, and had to ask for the music to be turned down because we had to shout to talk. We ordered two hot chocolates, and were served two cups of milk "stained" with a little cocoa, and disgustingly sweetened. I left this "drink" in the cup because, as a sugar-free person, it was undrinkable. So I ordered a tonic to rinse my mouth. I asked for the restroom, but there was no toilet paper. The bill for the two disgusting drinks and tonic was €12.00. This place is definitely to be avoided. The staff is incompetent.

02/12/2025: Excellent lunch with excellent wine, despite it being a Bonarda Mozza. We chose the goose cassoeula menu, which was very good and more delicate than the classic pork one.

We had a delicious pizza made with fresh ingredients. The staff was very kind, attentive, and friendly. We had a great time and highly recommend it.

11/08/2025: Borgo della Colomba is located in a small valley crossed by the Via Francigena. Peace and tranquility reign supreme, along with the soothing sound of water flowing in the stream beside the village. The management at Borgo della Colomba is kind and attentive.

21/10/2025: I've been going to sushi for many years, but nothing ever made me notice the difference from the usual, huge, industrial-sized ayce restaurants, until a few months ago when I came to this place. For the first time, I tasted real quality fish, unlike the usual sushi places where the flavor is masked by a thousand sauces. The place is truly welcoming, with limited seating, creating an intimate and comfortable atmosphere. The helpful and kind employees probably recognize me by now because I go there often. The price is surprisingly lower than other all-you-can-eat restaurants (I always go there for dinner). What I think is very important and inclusive is that they have a completely vegan version of the menu, which I've never tried, but having been vegetarian for years, I really appreciate it. The only small flaw is the somewhat slow service, which, however, only makes me think of a lot of effort and dedication, so every time I go, I prefer the wait to eating somewhere else. I recommend this place to everyone because it makes a difference. After that, going to other sushi places will be difficult because nothing will be up to par.

The restaurant is simple, with the option of dining outside thanks to a practical and quiet terrace. The staff was friendly and helpful, creating a familiar and relaxed atmosphere. The menu offers traditional Tuscan dishes and home cooking, without excess or refinement, but with an overall convincing quality. Among the dishes we tried, the tagliata was truly excellent: tender and well-cooked meat, served with attention. The vegetables, on the other hand, were less memorable, but still passable. What's striking is the quality-price ratio: for a modest outlay, you can eat well, simply, and without surprises. It's a simple trattoria, ideal for those looking for a quick and substantial meal while traveling, without the effort or expense of a more elaborate restaurant. Ultimately, La Fornace isn't a memorable place for its atmosphere or originality, but it's a worthwhile and convenient stop. It's one of those trattorias that never disappoints, thanks to the friendly service and some well-executed dishes.
