The only downside was that we didn't like the waitress; the gentleman who welcomed us was super friendly.

02/07/2026: Two seafood appetizers, two spaghetti with seafood, and two desserts, still and sparkling water.
70 euros.
Lots of paintings on the walls and carnival posters; the atmosphere evokes the historic atmosphere of Viareggio, but not only that...hanging in the secondary room are many paintings, prints, and paintings that clearly evoke fascism, some of them even featuring Mussolini with a fascist salute...I was perplexed by this ostentation.
21/06/2026: I visited Stefano's in Viareggio and had a great experience. The cuisine is excellent, with carefully prepared dishes and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming, made even more pleasant by the friendliness and kindness of the staff. A place where you eat well and feel welcome. Definitely worth recommending and returning to.

27/06/2026: A truly disappointing experience. I ordered a cheesecake through Deliveroo, and paying €5 for such a small slice is simply unjustifiable.
The packaging was even worse... the cheesecake arrived in a plain aluminum tray, without even a bag, a lid, or a fork.
I was at a B&B, and since I didn't have any cutlery, I was forced to eat it with my hands. In 2026, it's absurd that a restaurant that works with Deliveroo would neglect such basic aspects.
If you offer a delivery service, at least make sure the customer can eat their order in a dignified manner.
As for me, I won't order again.

08/07/2026: Torta "Coi Becchi" from Buccellato Taddeucci Bakery in the heart of Lucca. This traditional recipe mixes local herbs with pine nuts, raisins, sugar, and spices, creating a unique, sweet combination despite the usage of local herbs that are usually associated to savoury food. Out of the ones I had in Lucca this was probably the best one, the raisins giving it that extra flavour.
NB: you might see on display the full cake, but you can also ask for just a slice of it, which is not gonna be smaller than "quattro becchi", four of the characteristic "beak"-shaped irregularities on the outside layer of the cake, which are kept even in contemporary recipes and lend their name to this local dessert.

27/07/2026: Alma Rosa known as an art music bar has quite a vibe and the road side terrace seems to get more lively as the night progresses. All the activity is on the terrace with a DJ on the table and his speakers blaring inside. Probably to appease the neighbours. Your evening will be interspersed by a gyrating belly dancer whose impressive dresses are changed for every act. A veritable Daenerys lookalike. My pasta, although not al dente, was good as was the open steak sandwich. Definitely a fun evening out.

Highly recommended.

09/06/2026: We stopped in tonight to order a takeaway pizza and settled on the carbonara. It was the worst pizza we've ever had: burnt on the bottom, oversalted, and the bacon was pure grease. We didn't finish it, so we threw it out. (Very disappointing.)
02/06/2026: Four of us visited this very welcoming pizzeria. The pizzas were very good: light and digestible dough, with a classic crust (not the contemporary 12cm thick one) and good-quality toppings. The only flaw was the desserts, which were not homemade but most likely industrially made: we ordered a sorbet that wasn't to our liking and reduced the quality of the experience, which had previously been very good thanks to the pizza. Despite this, the girls who served us were very kind and friendly, despite a few oversights, which didn't detract from the quality of our experience at the pizzeria. Excellent value in my opinion.
