Torta "Coi Becchi" from Buccellato Taddeucci Bakery in the heart of Lucca. This traditional recipe mixes local herbs with pine nuts, raisins, sugar, and spices, creating a unique, sweet combination despite the usage of local herbs that are usually associated to savoury food. Out of the ones I had in Lucca this was probably the best one, the raisins giving it that extra flavour. NB: you might see on display the full cake, but you can also ask for just a slice of it, which is not gonna be smaller than "quattro becchi", four of the characteristic "beak"-shaped irregularities on the outside layer of the cake, which are kept even in contemporary recipes and lend their name to this local dessert.

Solid breakfast in a historic pasticceria. Lovely outside seating area and the inside is like a time machine!

What a wonderful bakery! During our visit to Lucca, our tour guide told us this was the best place in town for baked goods, and she was absolutely right. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the irresistible aromas of freshly baked bread, cookies, and pastries. There's usually a line, but it's well worth the wait. Once it's your turn, the real challenge begins: resisting the temptation to order one of everything! They even offer beautifully curated gift baskets, perfect for taking a taste of Italy home or sharing with someone special. We ordered two items, and both were exceptional. As lovers of Italian baked goods, we were thrilled to indulge in these authentic treats during our trip. If you're visiting Lucca, this bakery is a must-stop destination. The charming ambiance evokes old-world Italy, the service is quick and efficient, and the baked goods are simply unforgettable. A true gem for anyone with a sweet tooth or a love of traditional Italian baking.

On the recommendation of our hotelier Paolo, we purchased their signature dessert, the renowned Buccellato di Lucca. The wait was worth it... Excellent product.

Lovely patisserie, they have a great terrace in front of the shop. Try their buccellato di Lucca, a traditional sweet bread from Lucca, Tuscany. It's a soft, ring-shaped loaf flavored with anise seeds and raisins, with a long history dating back centuries.

Buccellato Taddeucci is a centrally located pastry shop in Lucca. It's medium-sized inside, with shaded tables outside. It offers a wide selection of traditional pastries at reasonable prices. The Buccellato is excellent. Professional staff. Not very accessible.
