Beautiful shop and lovely cakes, pastries and coffee

On the recommendation of our hotelier Paolo, we purchased their signature dessert, the renowned Buccellato di Lucca. The wait was worth it... Excellent product.

Lovely patisserie, they have a great terrace in front of the shop. Try their buccellato di Lucca, a traditional sweet bread from Lucca, Tuscany. It's a soft, ring-shaped loaf flavored with anise seeds and raisins, with a long history dating back centuries.

Buccellato Taddeucci is a centrally located pastry shop in Lucca. It's medium-sized inside, with shaded tables outside. It offers a wide selection of traditional pastries at reasonable prices. The Buccellato is excellent. Professional staff. Not very accessible.

After three years, I am in Donato in this wonderful shop I could have thought about it before I could also have breakfast from pizzas to panforte desserts, especially the tradition of the Buccella Thaw tradition, that donut, that loaf Welcoming and kind staff, quick I will return located in Piazza San Michele or Piazza delle catene

We stopped to try the authentic Bucellato Lucchese, an excellent bread with raisins and anise. If you want to try the original, stop by and grab one to take home!

The desserts are very beautiful. The shortcrust pastry for the biscuits and other bases is very good, crumbly and buttery, but I wouldn't buy the sweets themselves again, as I'll explain below, based on my personal taste, of course. The Occhi di Bue filling tastes only of sugar, completely bland (the pistachio one has a slight aftertaste). The chocolate and pear tart tastes very much of chocolate, and the pear, even though it's chunky, doesn't quite match the flavor; the Sachertorte is nothing special, too chocolatey and not balanced with the jam; the crème caramel shortcrust pastry is nothing special; the cream and strawberry tart is better, but very sugary overall. The braid, unfortunately, is very dry, and for the price (€11), it's not good.
