12/08/2026: We spent two evenings there, ate well, on the second evening the manager, a very good guy and very attentive to detail, recommended the Catalan to us and I must say it was an excellent choice.

11/08/2026: about ten times a night they brought the wrong food and were still surprised when we told them and when they brought us the right food an hour later it was terrible my dad had fish that was literally swimming in oil and I had some ice cream with caramelized fruit and it was as thick as grandma's compote and they still charge me a lot of money for it

18/05/2026: For my wife's birthday, we chose to spend four days at this hotel. A truly excellent choice: a very nice property, just steps from the seaside promenade and shops. The breakfast was excellent and varied, with cappuccino and coffee served at your table. Andrea and Marco were kind, Andreino was incredibly friendly: the staff was always pleasant and helpful. 18/05/2026: The pizza was decent overall, but it wasn't a good value for money, considering it cost €11. The tomato sauce was missing, or at least very dry, and for the fries, after spending €11, I would have expected more. Otherwise, the service was top-notch.

02/05/2026: A decidedly negative experience. We made a reservation over the phone for lunch today, and during the call, the "for tomorrow" was repeatedly repeated, just to avoid any misunderstandings. We showed up at the agreed-upon time, having specifically traveled from another city, but once there, we found the restaurant closed. When we contacted the manager, they told us we should have known they were closed for lunch on Saturdays, and that, according to them, it had been clarified over the phone that the table was for Sunday. The call was on speakerphone, and between two people, we heard absolutely no reference to Sunday: we clearly had the reservation for Saturday, especially since the "for tomorrow" was repeatedly repeated during the call. Most likely, since Friday was a holiday, the manager may have lost track of the days, but this doesn't excuse the unhelpful attitude and lack of customer service, especially considering we had traveled from another city specifically for that. Mistakes can happen to anyone, but how a situation is handled really makes a difference: in this case, unfortunately, it didn't.

30/07/2026: It was my first time at this beautiful reserve, and I had lunch in the attached restaurant. The food was excellent, and the waitress was very kind. Good value for money. I will definitely be back.

28/07/2026: Excellent ravioli and generous portions, good cheesecake, very fair prices, and a friendly waitress too! Absolutely recommended for anyone visiting the Orrido!

08/07/2026: Torta "Coi Becchi" from Buccellato Taddeucci Bakery in the heart of Lucca. This traditional recipe mixes local herbs with pine nuts, raisins, sugar, and spices, creating a unique, sweet combination despite the usage of local herbs that are usually associated to savoury food. Out of the ones I had in Lucca this was probably the best one, the raisins giving it that extra flavour. NB: you might see on display the full cake, but you can also ask for just a slice of it, which is not gonna be smaller than "quattro becchi", four of the characteristic "beak"-shaped irregularities on the outside layer of the cake, which are kept even in contemporary recipes and lend their name to this local dessert.

13/04/2026: What can I say... La Bussola Versilia isn't just a restaurant; it's a true piece of our country's history. Reviewing a place like this requires study and commitment. It's truly not easy, and you can't limit yourself to what you see today (which isn't bad). If the parts could talk, they'd speak with the voices of Mina, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, and more. It's really difficult. I can say that the restaurant's standard remains high.

09/12/2025: My husband and I went for lunch yesterday... what can I say? Everything was excellent. We had a half-board appetizer, tortelli with ragù, and a delicious steak with sautéed porcini mushrooms. The place is small and cozy. Congratulations!

07/08/2026: Go find something else! The tuna tartare was completely tasteless. As were the spaghetti with clams and the seafood. Garlic, oil, and chili pepper would definitely have been tastier! The mixed fried fish was plentiful, but overcooked and not cooked properly. The squid contained flour! Now, the manager will surely respond in his usual tone, but don't let this restaurant fool you, just move on. It was also clear from the tables present; in the central weeks of August, there were only two tables. One besides ours. It was also incredibly expensive!

07/08/2026: 🫤 This was our first time at this restaurant, and the experience was awful. The furniture was in terrible condition — broken tables (your glass falls over if you just lean on it) and broken chairs. But the real problem was the staff's attitude. One or two waitresses were extremely rude and disrespectful — we overheard them quietly telling the neighboring table that they didn't like us, calling us "Ukrainians" or "Russians," even though we are Bulgarian. I politely pointed this out, and instead of an apology, the entire staff mocked us openly. On top of that, they told us everything was "reserved" and seated us at a table right at the far end of the beach, while the tables next to us stayed empty the entire evening — no one sat there all night. We spent between 500 and 1000 euros per table, yet were treated as if we were a burden rather than paying guests. No one explained how to reserve sunbeds on the beach either. We sat down expecting someone to come so we could pay, but instead staff came over to argue with us and threatened to call the police just to make a scene and embarrass us in front of other guests. We got up and left. I will never set foot in this place again and would not recommend it to anyone.

05/05/2026: The restaurant is nice but a bit dated. The space isn't huge, but it's not noisy. The fish is fresh and high-quality. The menu didn't live up to expectations. The appetizers were good, but the first courses weren't very flavorful. The staff is very friendly.

26/04/2026: Comfortable and well-spaced tables, I came to this restaurant by chance, we had a fried food, it was cooked well not greasy, perfect batter unfortunately the prawns were not tasty and the portion for 2 people is not abundant I would have liked the waiter to let us know when ordering, the dessert was very good, for the fried food I will not return but the first courses that I saw being brought were beautiful, if I have the chance to come to this restaurant again I will take other courses

06/08/2026: We ordered four classic pizzas, two of which were Margherita, and unfortunately they were far from the kind of pizza we're used to: crusty, barely any toppings, and a raw center. It's a shame because the place is really very nice, clean, and inspiring.

05/08/2026: Worst meal I ever ate. I waited 40-45 mins for chicken nuggets and chips!! The portion size I received would be acceptable for a 4 year old child. I recieved 5 portions of chicken of which 2 were basically just breadcrumbs as there was very little chicken in them and as for the chips they were basically the end of a bag all of the end cuts....I asked the waitress could they please give me some more chips as the portion size was so small and she had to enquiry with staff, she told me that it's the normal portion size that they give to everyone and if I wanted more that I will have to pay an extra 5 euro for a side portion of chips. The most sickening part of it all was I had to pay 14 euro for it and I was still hungry leaving the place.

14/07/2026: Excellent food, charming location, outdoor dining among the palm trees and plants, close to the beach. The only downside was that we didn't like the waitress; the gentleman who welcomed us was super friendly.
