05/10/2025: I made a reservation, when I arrived they told me that the reservation was there but they didn't have a table. They didn't give neither an option nor an apology, just told that I should find another place. I felt mistreated.

02/10/2025: Excellent food. Quality comes at a price. 40 euros for gnocchi, steak (not Florentine, but for one), water, and coffee. I was delighted.

27/09/2025: Good pizzas, period. An evening with colleagues, a table set with plastic placemats, a welcoming atmosphere, low background music, and a TV turned down to watch a soccer match. The staff was friendly but slow: with the place half-empty, it took 20 minutes just to take our order. They favor "gourmet" and somewhat niche products, unfortunately lacking alternatives (both for the sparkling wine, the beers—out of tap—and even for water, available only in half-liter glass bottles). The pizzas arrived quickly: well-topped, well-cooked, excellent dough, and fair prices. When ordering, we were also offered the multigrain dough (which I tried: good). Homemade desserts, listed verbally: personally, I don't like this approach; I'd prefer a menu with prices and allergens, even just on a chalkboard, so I could confirm what was actually available. The pastiera was good, small but interesting; The babà, on the other hand, was unfortunately completely dry inside: decent flavor, but forgettable without the syrup. The coffee was served without clearing the dessert plates first, so it was just left out wherever it could be found. Halfway through the meal, they turned up the music to play "Happy Birthday" for a nearby table, but forgot to turn it down: the playlist continued on its own at a high volume, making it difficult to talk. In summary: Pros: The pizza was really good, with gourmet options, and a selection of niche products. Cons: Plastic placemats (I'd prefer a tablecloth, even a disposable one, to rest my cutlery on); friendly but inattentive service, music too loud, organization in need of rethinking, lack of alternatives to niche products.

30/08/2025: It's been a while since I've been there. The place was packed. The atmosphere was modern and welcoming, with outdoor space. My review focuses on the pizza. Selected products of the highest quality! The combinations were studied to make the delicate flavors particularly tasty. Delicious. It's not just any pizza, but a gourmet pizza. Where the owner carefully and meticulously creates her pizzas. The Neapolitan mixed fried fish was truly delicious! Those who ate the simpler dishes were not satisfied. The service was a bit slow and disorganized despite the rush. The staff was very kind and ready to serve the customer. Overall, a positive experience. Definitely worth returning.

11/10/2025: This restaurant is recommended to tourists but also frequented by locals. We were there on a Friday evening, with a reservation. The food was good, with familiar dishes but also specialties like sweet vegetable tart for dessert. There were also dishes not on the menu. Ordering was quick, and there wasn't a long wait for the food. At 1930 it was still pleasantly quiet, but by 2000 it was packed and unbearable. The rooms are large and it got loud, very loud. We were glad to be outside. Even for Italians, it was too loud. Contrary to the menu's statement that you can't split the payment, a 50/50 split wasn't a problem. (By the way, it's legally illegal to refuse; it's an individual contract.) The first restaurant in Italy where I've seen this on the menu. Large parking lot, small fee, outside the wall, a 5-minute walk. The restaurant itself is in the restricted zone.

Excellent coffee and irresistible desserts, especially the frati and bomboloni! A truly unique place that I recommend to everyone!

12/10/2025: I had the linguine with clams, and the quantity of clams was quite generous. Unfortunately, the linguine was stuck together and tough, as if they hadn't been turned while cooking; they looked like they'd been scraped off the side of the pan. Overall, they were good. The portions were quite small, a bit overpriced, although the good quality of the fish was evident. The service was a bit slow.

05/10/2025: I went to Osteria Candalla with a couple of friends, honestly one of the most unique places I saw in Tuscany. Right next to the river, trees everywhere, almost like you walk in some secret garden, not easy to find but that makes it special I guess. The food was good, I had pasta with wild boar sauce, strong taste but not too much, delicate somehow, hard to explain, my friend had grilled meat and it was really juicy. The waiter came with a wine suggestion, local one, and it was actually perfect with the pasta, even if I don’t usually notice this stuff. Prices not cheap, but ok, because you are not only eating, you are in this crazy natural spot.

05/10/2025: A place where time stands still. On both sides of a stream and small ponds in the woods... this is the osteria in Candalla. A beautiful location. The owners and staff are all very kind and professional. The menu is original, yet traditional. Prices are accordingly, but it's worth it.

24/08/2025: I had an extremely good dinner in an elegant and relaxed setting. The ingredients were excellent and local, but the service is certainly the added bonus that makes this restaurant stand out. Kudos to you for your passion. See you soon.

19/08/2025: We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The pasta was outstanding. We even had the house's own olive oil for sale. The service was very attentive and spoke English. Simply fantastic. Because we rented a small house in the complex, we received an additional 10% discount – a great bonus. There's also live music on Fridays – and you can relax in hammocks among the olive trees in the garden. A great location not far from the center of Forte. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

07/10/2025: The place is really small, but there are tables outside, and if the weather isn't bad, they're in a great location. The owners are very friendly, but the highlight is the crostini (we only had those) with sausage and blue cheese, and with pecorino, lard, and honey. Delicious. Paired with a nice glass of red. We'll definitely be back to try other combinations. I've seen many.

09/09/2025: The seating here is very central. The sandwiches are nothing special, and the beer doesn't taste particularly good either.

09/10/2025: I'd say overrated. The much-vaunted appetizer (we ordered everything) was nothing more than what any restaurant in the area offers, in fact I'd say less. The tordelli with ragù were too spicy, and the ragù was a tad burnt. The price was what we expected (over €50 per person for an appetizer and first course), but it wasn't justified by the menu selection, the flavor, or the quality.

28/08/2025: We stopped for lunch by chance, as it's located on the way home from vacation. It was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is simple but welcoming, the service is quick and courteous. The food is excellent, from the shop's platter to the tortelli. The ricotta and spinach ravioli are a special treat: you can taste the quality of the ingredients. We skipped the main courses because we wanted dessert, but judging by the dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen, they're definitely worth it! Everything is delicious. For those in the area who haven't tried it yet, go and try it. Highly recommended!!!

16/09/2025: The B&B is in an excellent location for a visit to Garfagnana. At Eliseo, we received a truly warm welcome from the very kind owners, who made us feel right at home. The rooms are functional, well-furnished, and impeccably clean, ensuring a worry-free stay. A real plus is the combination of their restaurant, with its intimate, relaxed atmosphere and excellent traditional cuisine. Highly recommended!
