06/10/2025: I had an extraordinary week in this location, between 26.09 and 02.10.20025. Quiet, clean, impeccable service, respectful staff. A special experience. I recommend with all confidence.

07/09/2025: Excellent value for money. The pico with guanciale, chicory, and pecorino cheese is delicious. The staff is very friendly. A quiet place where you can chat freely.

23/10/2025: I went there today because I'd seen a line outside during lunchtime over the summer. I knew exactly what to expect. A step back in time to Italy 30 years ago. Authentic flavors, customers of all types, and lightning-fast service. Truly ridiculously priced. More than a lunch break, it's an experience, as they say these days. Definitely worth a try.

11/10/2025: Delicious and authentic local spot with incredible value. €10 for primi, secondi and side with water and coffee. I had their Maccheroni al ragu, Stinco (pork shank) and beans. Obviously a local untouristy spot with the handwritten menus but easy enough to work out and definitely worth a visit

08/12/2025: Lunch on a holiday, with the family, refined dishes made to order, quality ingredients. Attentive and attentive service. Price in line with what we ate. Everything was top notch.

05/12/2025: If I choose to eat out, I must find courtesy, competence, beauty, and warmth in the atmosphere. At Il Giglio I found all of this.

01/11/2025: We had one night stay. Staff are nice and welcoming. The hotel it'sself is in a great position right next to the beach and promenade. It's a bit dated. Could do with a good refurbishing and sonorizing. I could hear every word and movement of our neighbours.

31/10/2025: A spacious hotel that does the job: just steps from Viareggio's main promenade and the city center. Everything is within walking distance, even though the train station is a 30-minute bus ride away. Friendly welcome, breakfast with a good selection (including eggs cooked to order). Vegan and vegetarian options available. A great place to stay. Special shout-out to the enormous and very handsome dog and the little cat ;))

31/10/2025: We've been to many restaurants of this type, often and in different regions, but very few have eaten as well as here! The food is high quality, authentic ramen that's enough for two, and the staff is very kind and attentive. Highly recommended.

11/10/2025: Every now and then I try new all-you-can-eat restaurants in the Lucca area and surrounding areas, but nothing. After a good 10 years, I keep coming back. Some people complain about the lack of choice, perhaps that's true, but honestly, even at other AYCE restaurants that have maybe 5-10 more dishes, I always end up ordering the same things, so I don't feel like there's any "poverty" in the menu variety. What I do notice is the excellent quality, the dishes are just right (unlike other restaurants that bring you mini portions and then have to wait 30 minutes for the second round). Again, the quality of the ingredients is unbeatable for me. Both at lunch and dinner.

11/10/2025: This restaurant is recommended to tourists but also frequented by locals. We were there on a Friday evening, with a reservation. The food was good, with familiar dishes but also specialties like sweet vegetable tart for dessert. There were also dishes not on the menu. Ordering was quick, and there wasn't a long wait for the food. At 1930 it was still pleasantly quiet, but by 2000 it was packed and unbearable. The rooms are large and it got loud, very loud. We were glad to be outside. Even for Italians, it was too loud. Contrary to the menu's statement that you can't split the payment, a 50/50 split wasn't a problem. (By the way, it's legally illegal to refuse; it's an individual contract.) The first restaurant in Italy where I've seen this on the menu. Large parking lot, small fee, outside the wall, a 5-minute walk. The restaurant itself is in the restricted zone.

25/08/2025: We stopped in Torre del Lago Puccini with our caravan and arrived at this place in the evening. We were warmly welcomed, and the playground was huge for a restaurant. Surrounded by greenery, it was truly beautiful. I had a delicious pizza, and the kids had a kids' menu. The price was super fair.
