14/05/2026: Great place, original, welcoming, the tagliolini are fantastic, the first courses are also delicious, the staff are knowledgeable and professional and put love into what they do. I highly recommend it.

26/04/2026: Cozy, family-friendly, and incredibly delicious. The pasta was excellent, the Hugo cocktail was beautifully decorated, and the antipasti served with the drink was a whole other story in itself :) On top of all that, the prices were very good – I definitely recommend it! P.S. Terese is the best! If you're not sure what to order, trust her – she's reliable!

04/06/2026: A very nice local restaurant situated in a very unique location, practically under an aqueduct. Nice setting, and the interior is decorated in a very local style. I believe this restaurant has been around for decades. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and the menu is extensive, yet the food arrives on your plate super fast. Prices are really low and the quality is simply very good. Sitting outside is especially pleasant here. There is plenty of space, so reservations don't seem strictly necessary, although there were quite a lot of people for a Wednesday evening. But I think it is also a very popular spot locally.

01/06/2026: Had lunch on Sunday with friends. On the terrace, a smell of a corpse that was hard to bear. I asked a waitress what this smell was, she replied that it was from the septic tank 🙈. Then three waiters came to our table, tense and without a smile. A filthy terrace, flies were present, but there was no smell. I do not recommend this restaurant 🤮. We all had snacks, then Primo I had pasta with seafood. No bowl of water or napkin to wipe our hands. The seafood was mostly raw, the pasta was not al fente, not cooked properly. It ruined our whole Sunday.

24/05/2026: ...it's always a pleasure to eat here, with traditional dishes and a top-quality selection, all freshly cooked. The place is warm and welcoming, and the staff is attentive and professional.

13/05/2026: A very warm welcome. Very traditional decor respecting it's roots from the year 1760. Restaurant full of both locals, workers and a few visitors. We tried 2 mixed antipasti (1 vegetarian). Both were delicious, followed by a pasta with fresh porcini, pork ribs and polenta and a Tuscan vegetable soup. All delicious- will return. 5 star

12/04/2026: Saturday lunch pizza: excellent, cooked in a wood-fired oven and generously topped with quality ingredients. Wide selection of pizzas and other dishes. Pizzas by the slice and an excellent thin and crispy farinata, cooked to perfection. Grilled Florentine steak, priced by weight. The menu is on the table on QR code. There's no cover charge and the quality/price ratio is excellent. Fast and friendly service. Limoncello is included.

Today at Ristorante Mecenate, we took a journey among the small producers who make this land great. 🍷✨ ​The beginning was poetic: Gnocchi allo Zola, but not just any Zola. A cheese made by Monica from Valgiano with the milk of a single, very special cow named Camilla. Knowing where what you eat comes from completely changes your perception of taste. ​We continued with pure tradition: homemade Tacconi with rabbit sauce, coarse and flavorful, exactly as they should be. ​The climax came with a platter of five raw milk cheeses. A mapping of the local pastures that brought together: ​The excellence of Monica Ferrucci from Valgiano; ​The character of Pierpaolo Piagneri from Filattiera; ​The wisdom of the Giorgi family from Castelvecchio di Compito; ​The purity of Il Caprile from Massa. ​To finish on a sweet note, a wafer with shepherd's ricotta and organic lime honey, accompanied by rosé wine from the Valle del Sole winery. 04/05/2026: Along the way, you happened upon Mara Meo. We stopped for lunch and were pleasantly surprised: the place was welcoming, modern, with a well-kept outdoor area. The food was excellent: cecina, a must-try; the lactose-free mozzarella and prosciutto focaccia was truly delicious, as was the pizza! The price-to-food ratio was excellent! If you're in the area, highly recommended!

And that's precisely what makes the place so distinctive and vibrant in the heart of the town. At the bar, Debora—a daughter of a chef—brings lightness, beauty, and above all a focus that's rare in today's restaurant scene. Everything feels natural, never forced. Nadiusc rounds out an excellent team with energy, warmth, and those Brazilian touches found in the details, flavors, and fusion spirit of the place. Brazilian ingredients, ideas, and influences blend with true Versilia hospitality. A simple, authentic place, full of personality. And for this very reason, hard to forget.

09/03/2026: First time last Saturday evening for my dad's birthday, a table of about 20 people. In the total chaos of the crowded room, the lady who served us was excellent! Very patient, kind, and accommodating. Very good food; we tried several fish dishes, including the fried fish, which was really well done! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone. Just steps from the center, with ample parking in the back.

09/11/2025: Arriving at 8:30 PM, we ordered an appetizer and two first courses. The tables next to us were being served as expected. The appetizer arrived. At 10:00 PM, having not heard anything about the first courses, I got up and went to ask about them. "Sorry, sorry, there was a mix-up," I was told. The two dishes finally arrived at 10:30 PM, quickly prepared, and it was obvious. We finished the first courses and the pizza we had requested. After 30 minutes, I got up again and asked if someone could take our order for two desserts. In the end, I got really impatient because I was scolded for getting up too many times to request non-existent service. It's Saturday and we do everything express. And this is just for my table? What does that mean? You don't go to restaurants on Saturdays and you have to ask if someone is passing by to order? It's beside the point to say we're not a 5-star restaurant. What does that mean? This is about respect. It was an evening that left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
